Ted reprend même "Journey To the Center Of the Mind" de son premier groupe "The Amboys Dukes" comme si Gonzo avait encore ses vingt printemps.
Un disque joyeux et pétillant servi par une très bonne production, que demander de plus à celui qui se prétendait LE meilleur guitariste du monde et qui a fini par en convaincre certains !

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Delete songs 3 and 4 and bondage photo 6 juin 2012
Par E. Willi - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD Achat vérifié
This record needed an "organic advisor" -- like Steve Paul provided on so many classic Johnny Winter albums -- to look over the content and packaging and make it the best it could be. Mojo sleaze does not work well for Uncle Ted: 'Girl Scout Cookies' in the context of the bondage girl on a platter photo/cartoon is just embarrassing. Even fans of ZZ Top will admit they overdid the sexual innuendo songs. The song 'Funk U' should have been omitted, too. Track 5 'Journey To the Center of My Mind' is an early Ted tune redone; it would have been better without the rough vocalizations at the end. Ted is at his best when channeling the Spirit of the Buffalo, which he does on tracks 6 - 9. Also good tracks 1, 2, 10 - 12. A blues jam #13, 'Lay With Me' ends the album: Ted imitates an old Blues guy. Fans of the re-uniting Black Sabbath will want to hear drummer Tommy Clufetos on this album.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Funk this album. No, really! 9 juin 2009
Par John Reynolds - Publié sur Amazon.com

I'm trying to listen to this CD while I write the review, but "Funk U" doesn't let me concentrate. Hold on while I hit stop.

Still Raising Hell -- that's classic Ted. Girl Scout Cookies was amusing but sounded good. No sexual overtones--it's actually about eating girl scout cookies. Journey to the Center of the Mind was pretty cool. Funk U is a great tune too. And it's perfect for blasting the neighbors when their dog starts barking at me. Funk U Funk U Funk U Funk U Funk.

Then he launches into this existential rant about native religion, buffaloes, his "oneness" with the American Indian, blah, blah, blah with four lame songs about, well, his oneness with the Native American Indian Buffalo and how we should deify the buffalo or something. More than 1/3 of the CD tainted with absolute rubbish. It made me think Ted was getting old and priming his soul for the Creator. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

His blues track seemed a little lame--like he was making fun of the blues (and maybe he was). The vocals were really off. But when he starts playing riffs the song takes off and you can't help cranking it. Besides, with Ted Nugent, aren't vocals the part you use as filler until you get to the real Ted?

But he really redeemed the whole CD with one song. Broadside. I can't think of one Ted Nugent song that I like better (maybe a few I like as much).

Half of the CD is good, so it's worth a buy. But having to listen to the "Native American" 1/3 makes me glad I don't own an 8-track. No, really.

I don't agree with ted's politics on songs like 'stand' , the tea partyists etc and deluded and the stooges of big corporations wether they know it or not, but this is still a kick butt cd with lots of great songs on it like
'broadside' , 'spirit of the buffalo' , 'geronimo and me' and others. I do wish Uncle ted would let others sing some of his songs. The most powerful ted cd's are the ones in which he sings half the songs and others do the rest. this is pretty good ted but this isn't a true classic like the great 70's period; but it's still got hot guitarwork and
Ted's a original regardless of his politics. He should stand up for the enviorment though because acid rain is gonna ruin his hunting grounds etc! now that would be a good cause for him. Oh well , I have got all of teds stuff even all of the amboy dukes period! (or you could say ted nugent and some guys he hired, that's what that band was!) So of course I had ot have this one and it's good really if you love melodic metal done nuge style , which I do. rock on ted.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Another Bullseye For Uncle Ted 6 septembre 2007

Ted Nugent just keeps on keepin on!! "Love Grenade" continues on the hard and heavy path created by Ted's last album "Craveman". Where "Craveman" leaned toward a "heavy, heavy" metal sound, "Love Grenade" presents with a harder rocking (and more rolling) edge. Ted's guitar, especially the solos, have the best tone I have heard had in years. Ted's guitar is much cleaner, crunchier and upfront than on Ted's last album. It may be Ted's best guitar sounding album since "Scream Dream". You also gotta love the attitude Ted can inject into everyone of his albums. Not many artists can keep the metal fires burning with the intensity and duration of Uncle Ted. Finally the lyrics are 100% pure Ted; how may songwriters can come up with songs like "Bridge Over Troubled Daughters" & "Girl Scout Cookies"? (It's rhetorical question).
In fairness, I would actually give this 4 1/2 stars. The only reason I would subtract 1/2 a star is on a few tracks Ted tries to play way too fast. Dare I say beyond his capability. Consequently he misses a few notes and bends and sounds a bit out of tune. Yeah, this is a minor gripe bordering on blasphemy, but it is the first time my ears have heard it. If you get the album, please write a comment below on whether you agree or disagree.
Anyway, whether your are a lifelong fan or a newcomer, you can not go wrong here. ****Just remember this is not iPod/earbud music! Whether in your car or the privacy of your own home, "Love Grenade" deserves to be played at high volume on real speakers!!!****

Wow. The man is 60 and has been making music for 40 plus years and what does he do ?? Just goes and puts out maybe his best effort ever. In a perfect world this release would have gone gold or more and the radio would have played numerous cuts off this one. But everyone, including Ted, knows that won't happen. Maybe with that kind of freedom you can do what you want and Ted just wants to rock and rock he does. He wields the guitar like a blunt instrament at a murder scene and takes no prisoners. Heavy and hard riffage is happening here. But don't let all the noise and chaos confuse you. Ted can play like few others can and so can his band of Barry Sparks on bass and Tommy Clufetos on drums. Both veterans of Ted, and Dokken, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper. This band plays hard rock full throttle with no let down. All the cuts are good and some are great. I am not sure why this type of rock disapeared from radio favor and that is a shame because it just smokes, with hooks, chorus and serious playing played with ATTITUDE.
