Présentation de l'éditeur

Does everyone have to fight for Love?

Or can you sometimes find 'Love on a Plate?'

Seven very different people are about to find out.

Gathered together for a weekly supermarket tasting panel, they are all at very different places in their lives.

Sarah has worked in London for nine years but after her partner ran off with an Italian model she returned to her home town to get over a failed relationship.

Mark is local photographer, newly-widowed and struggling with getting back into the dating game.

Sally is a high-powered lawyer but after a divorce is looking for a new man in her life.

Jason has been concealing his sexuality from his wife Stacey.

And Aarshiya is just eighteen - but already being forced into an arranged man with an older man she cares nothing for.

Forced together on the tasting panel, the group form some unlikely friendships...and some complex romances.

It quickly turns out that some things are more important than whether the supermarket has ordered the right Christmas puddings?

Or are they?

'Love on a Plate' is a warm and witty story of relationships, marriage, infidelity....and cupcakes.

It is a dazzling contemporary romance that will appeal to fans of Hilary Boyd, Jane Green and Joanna Trollope.

A generally pleasant and amusing love story. If you like this, try Yes Chef, No Chef by the same author.

HASH(0x9bd12c90) étoiles sur 5 good concept, thin execution 24 avril 2013

The concept of taking time to know the characters who meet for an event is not new, and I rather enjoy a good execution of it. The set up here is okay, but the story is way too thin. Mark's first impression is poor. He introduces himself as a celebrity-- a sign of an ego don't you think. That aspect of Mark is never followed up. The plot device of a tasting panel is rather weak, especially since some of these people could have found other more productive ways to achieve their goals.
All in all, this felt like a formula piece that the author wrote without passion.

This is a nice book to read especially if you like following a few different stories at the same time.

The book is about seven people joined together in a row of weekly tasting panels for supermarkets. They all have different backgrounds and their personal stories are revealed by the author in an easy flowing manner. The main character is Sarah, the leader of the panel, who falls in love with one of the participants. I loved their story and the way it developed.

Still, I didn't like a few moments in the book, which were in my opinion a bit over the top, like characters opening too soon to each other, or the person who turns out to be the biological mother of Sally (don't want to go into more details so I don't reveal too much). It spoiled it a bit for me, but I still enjoyed the read.

HASH(0x9bd12ea0) étoiles sur 5 Quirky, juicy and brilliantly satisfying... 12 avril 2013

A very easy and intriguing book, Love on a Plate dishes up all the romance, character tensions and background stories you could ever be hungry for. Intelligently set around a weekly taste meeting that we revisit every week, the characters Sarah, Sally, Mark, Margaret, Olga, Aashirya and Jason are introduced in the most enjoyable of ways thanks to Willis. With their stories overlapping each other, one character's jealousy can mean another's potential romance. This really satisfies the book worms, with a brilliantly juicy ending. Please Susan Willis, can I have some more?

This one was nice. Nice story, likable characters. A bit too many characters maybe, since most of the stories didn't have any conclusion, but a nice read all the same.
