I had watched the TV series back in 2013 but since it got cancelled, I decided to read the books and omg I'm speechless, the writing is perfect, everything!
And for the first time in my life, my intuition was right: from book 3, I knew who it was and I wasn't mistaken. 😁
I truly recommend this book, you won't regret it.

This is the best by far of the series, I couldn't stop reading it once I had started. Every page is just breathtaking and the end... I Don't even have words ! I couldn't stop crying and saying "Oh my god" and it's even better than what I could have imagined for the ending of the series. Just purely awesome.
Seriously though if you haven't read those or this book(s), then DO cause they are by far the best I've ever read and I read a lot!
I'm still shocked right now.

I enjoyed the series even though I thought the books were a little short for my taste. I usually go for the thickest books on the shelf. I only ordered the series after watching the entire TV show on netflix and it was fun to see the story told anew in a different way and with an actual ending. It was a fun YA read.

At the start of the series, i considered this to be just another idea similar to Pretty Little Liars. It was compelling enough to finish but i stated that i was not sure i would continue to purchase countless books by Sara Shepard due to the similarity to PPL. I am TOTALLY hooked on her writing now!! I believe Sara had a bit of trouble getting the ball rolling with this series but once she did everything lined up so nicely, it was thrilling. I found it hard to put down, I began to feel like i knew the characters and that i was there. I felt tired and excited in the same; i just wanted to finish the series but then not, knowing i would miss the characters. I did guess the killer on my own, but i was really annoyed when i got on different site to rate Sara's book a 5 star, someone blurted out the killers name in lower case. Despite knowing the answer, this book had a lot of twists and turns, full of excitement! I still couldn't put it down. I love how the stars and family were tied into this series. I would hope that Sara could start another series of Emma's life after healing there is room for another series but i won't say why, you just have to read it! Sara, you have gained a life long reader and fan!

I've had a sneaking liking for this series all along. I read this book from start to finish in a local bookstore. It was THAT riveting.

As we know, Emma Paxton is on the search for her twin sister Sutton Mercer's killer. She has left a bad foster home in Nevada for Arizona, where she discovered her sister was living. However, she never gets to meet Sutton. Sutton, however knows Emma well as she trails her as a spectral form. Sutton can see and hear what is going on, but she cannot recall who killed her that fatal night in the canyons. All she knows is that there is a list of suspects and a few casualties along the way.

As riveting and captivating as this book was, like another reader on the U.S. Amazon boards noted, I had my suspicions honed by the penultimate book, which was #5. Even though I had a suspect, that didn't mean I was right. After all, there is a LOOONG list of suspects, most of whom are ultimately cleared.

Things really tighten up in this book! Each one of the characters are more fleshed out and more fully defined. Emma's secret is out - Quinlan finally nabs her as a possible suspect. However, the questions arise. Despite all the other suspicious characters, Emma remains above board. Quinlan also nabs another person who may or may not have answers as she was friendly with Emma in Nevada.

Surprise witnesses and others crop up. Some or all may have answers about who killed Sutton. There was another casualty whose death has yet to be explained. Was the death of this casualty, who died in #5 in any way connected to Sutton's death? Was the same culprit or culprits involved? And what of the Mercers? Will Emma clear her name?

Naked emotions are what underscore this story. Readers are never left in the lurch and in time......answers are provided. As another U.S. reviewer noted, a suspect cropped up in #5. While I enjoyed the series and was eager to reach the conclusion, it really was a shaggy dog story. A good shaggy dog story and well worth the read.

To start this review I have to say that this is by far one of the best books Sara Shepard has written. It has an interesting story line, complex characters, and raw emotion. All of these things add up for a non stop, high speed, thrill ride, adventure! The biggest problem though for this book, and series for a matter of fact, is the ending. WITHOUT SPOILING! The series was drawn out way to long which gave to much time for readers to think about the ending and who the murder was.By the end of the 5th book I already knew who the killer was. I did not know his/her exact reasons for the murder but there really wasn't too many other suspects. If Sara Shepard would have just kept the books at their original 4 then maybe the twist at the end would have been more of a shocker..... The best part of this book though and most definitely a highlight was the powerful narration of the ghost of Sutton Mercer, the victim and twin of main character Emma. Sutton adds raw emotion to the story as she looks back on her once glamorous life. What's incredible about this book is readers now come full circle with the series and see how much Sutton has learned from her life and her sister.Even though they are worlds apart and have never met face to face the connection between Sutton and Emma is truly a special one thats very hard to find in books now-a-day. One scene notably in the last chapter of the book is very touching!( There will not be one dry eyed fan reading it!)

While having a somewhat predictable ending, the important part is the emotional pull of the book. Especially, the theme that we should cherish everything in our lives, mainly the bond that we have with our friends and family and to never take it for granted.

I liked the foreshadowing from the other book, so I thought I had it figured out, then it twists and turns, and leads you elsewhere. It was surprising, but I swear I knew it. This one was better than the last in regards to action and characters.
