Présentation de l'éditeur

"A delicately laced story of hope, love, suspense, and intrigue." - best-selling author, Larry Enright, FOUR YEARS FROM HOME

"A page-turner you won't be able to put down!" - Douglas Dorow, THE NINTH DISTRICT

SURVIVING THE FALL WAS JUST THE BEGINNING...

When Jack's mother-in-law sends him and Stacey on a two-week cruise, they're determined to make the most of it, to forget about the cancer and its cold grip on their future.

Planning to revisit the earlier days of their marriage, and the unbridled romance that defined it, they'll lose themselves in paradise while building the resolve needed to endure the coming hell.

At least that was his plan...

Instead, he'll be cast into an ocean of deceit and dark conspiracy that will leave him questioning all he holds dear in this world, putting to the test just how much a man's love can truly endure.

Described by readers as "Conspiracy Theory meets Salt," A Man Overboard "is a great spy thriller that will keep you guessing until the end."

I only made it to page 26. The author writes in run on and on and on sentences. His paragraphs last for two pages. It was just too wordy and ridiculous. When he stated that vaccines cause children's illnesses and started ranting about pharmaceutical companies, he lost me. Yawn!

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Good escapist thriller, but flawed 22 juillet 2013

"A Man Overboard" is basically a good thriller and is reasonably well plotted and written.

There were a number of flaws, though.

The preoccupation with religion was a bit offputting, as was the main character's belief in conspiracy theories. That, and his repeated reminder that he was 'just a salesman' made him seem weak, ineffectual and unlikable. Bad qualities in a guy who was actually quite competant.

In addition, the author's apparently never taken a cruise and lacked basic knowledge of ships or the cruise business - something most readers admittedly won't notice. Finally, his Russians were artificial stereotypes. I wonder whether the author ever spent time in eastern Europe?

Overall: a Well-written, escapist thriller, if the flaws don't nag at you too much.q

5.0 étoiles sur 5 "An Action Packed Thriller That Never Slows Down" 2 novembre 2013

Wow! I just couldn't put this book down! From the very beginning to the very end, it was action packed that just led me to read late into the night. This story begins with Jack and Stacy Green getting ready to leave on a two week cruise trip gifted to them by Stacy's mother, Viktoriya Arsov, who will be taking care of their four-year old son while they are gone. As Stacy has just learned of her breast cancer, this trip is a chance for much happiness before having to face these difficulties. Flying to Florida from Philadelphia, they soon arrive in a lovely suite on the cruise ship. During the first night, after partying, they are in their suite as three masked men attack Jack, tape his mouth closed, and throw him overboard. Someone aboard sees him going overboard, and the ship slowly turns around and he is miraculously saved. But ... where is Stacy? She's gone! Did she go overboard also? This story is full of mystery, Jack's occasional paranoia, conspiracy and deception. I highly recommend this very creative, excellently written novel.

Loved "A Man Overboard" and the refreshing style in which this author writes!

A thrilling tale & journey of a man being thrown overboard, while vacationing with his cancer stricken wife. Jam packed with suspense, secrets and one that will keep you flipping pages to find out what happens next. Highly recommended!

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Engaging, but a little "overboard" on the political posturing... 11 décembre 2012

I give this book three stars. The main character development is relatively good, and you find yourself vested in some of them. I think that there are enough twists and turns that your attention is grabbed, and there was never a time I necessarily wanted to put the book down. Historical content is present, and I personally like that while this is NOT of the genre "historical fiction," there is enough of a smattering of contemporary historical facts to make me think a little. There is some good humor, and I laughed out loud a couple of times. All of those are good reasons to read the book, and if given the decision again, I would still buy it and read it. That said, I have a couple of problems with the book. **SPOILER WARNING** First - Way too much forced imagery. Enough said :) Next - The constant plethera of conspiracy theories and political rhetoric thrown in gets tiresome. He compares his main character to Jerry of Conspiracy Theory (Mel Gibson/Julia Roberts). Jerry was very endearing, and by the end of the movie you were able to see how the conspiracies were all valid. In this book, most of the conspiracy theories are either unfounded, falsified, political, exaggerated, or worst of all - wholly unrelated (i.e., immunizations, really?). I find that kind of hyperbole very distracting and even annoying. If you're going to incorporate that stuff, then tie it all to the story. Otherwise, it feels like "would you like a little story with all my political posturing?" Finally - there was a constant reflection going on about the main character's spiritual beliefs. By the end, I expected to have that fully resolved for him, but it really wasn't.
