1,0 sur 5 étoiles Ein ☆, mehr nicht!
Commenté en Allemagne le 12 novembre 2021
Leider ein sehr einfach aufgebautes Spiel!!!

Grafik = ...geht einigermaßen (dafür 1☆)
Keine verschiedenen Kameraperspektiven

Resist The Kalergi Plan
5,0 sur 5 étoiles The game PLAYS fine, and for the money, it is well worth it!

For the bugs and glitches in the game so far, none of them actually affect game play.

For the bugs and glitches in the game so far, i blame the herd of hyperactive morons who constantly pushed the developers and publsiher to release the game quick.

The same herd of hyperactive morons who pushed for the game to be released 'NAO!!!' are now the same ones whining, whinging, moaning and crying hysterically about 'how bad' the game is, and calling the developers silly names and saying 'they're crap at making games' and much worse things besides.

This game like most, if not all other games thesedays, come with a couple of patches to download and install the first time you put the disc in.

I have been playing as Jimmy White in a career and so far I've played 6 games and won 5 of them.
Sometimes i could win 2 or 3 frames in a row, then lose 1 or 2, or even go a frame or two under then make a come back for a win.

So far, from all i have played, there has NOT been any time where the game play has been broken by a bug or glitch. In fact, i have enjoyed playing the game so much, that i didn't even notice ~6hours of my life blowing past me, that's just how immersive the game play is, at least for me.

The game play has been instense at times to the point my hands were sweating and i was concentrating hard while trying to keep cool headed taking shots. I really did feel like i was being challenged, that my opponent was a threat, and that i was actually fighting to get through a QUALIFIER match! Not even for a trophy win, just a qualifier! It's like they made it so that your CPU (computer controlled opponent) actually WANTED to qualify as well, that he wasn't just put there to be a grind, an obstacle that you have to overcome.

So do not be put off by naysayers, plus, this is the ONLY official snooker game on this generation of consoles.

Now there are many things that sort of damage the immersiveness of the game, at least for me and i will list what i remember from my short time playing the game:

1) Commentary is dry, repetitive, and sometimes out of sync with the game.
Examples:
When you are ahead in points so much the opponent can't come back, they say things like, "it doesn't matter now" and variations using those words, like if you pot another ball, but don't leave yourself on good for a follow up, they will say 'He didn't leave himself in a good position, but at this point, it really doesn't matter'.
They repeat this, in variations, after every further pot you make.

In terms of variation, I'm really starting to miss John Virgo's reminiscing on old games and situations from old games, like when he'd say something like, 'this is almost the exact same snooker he played back in the Masters in 720BC and it was a nightmare to get out of then, and i suspect it'll be the same today'.
There's just nothing going on in commentary except what is actually happening at the table, and even then, they barely talk. So there is no 'TV snooker style' feeling here.

In terms of being Out of Sync, i had 7 or so reds still on the table, and i was aiming to pot the black ball, and the commenter says 'This one is for the frame'. SERIOUSLY?! My friend had told me earlier that he was just about to break to open the second frame and the commenter said the same thing.

2) Graphical glitches.
Examples:
The cue going through the cushion when taking a shot.
The cue and rest/bridge still sitting on the table as the CPU player takes his shot and the cue ball/or target ball comes back and runs through the cue and rest/bridge.
Part of the rest going through a ball.
Part of the player/CPU body inside the table as they watch the shot they just took.

Another thing to note, which i really didn't like and i don't even suffer from epilepsy, is the 'white flashing' between shots/scenes. It happens in a way which does affect you, and in my case it's just very annoying, but i wouldn't like to actually suffer from epilepsy and be playing this game when that happens.

3) Player models.
Examples: The bodies look like they were ripped right from WSC Real '11. Now that's not a bad thing really since it'd save developers time, and free up their time to do other things, and even enable them to take a break and get some well deserved rest. Developers reuse assets from previous games all the time. But i did expect there to be a bit more polish.
The players faces, while much better than any other snooker game, at times, in certain scenes, also look like they were taken from WSC Real '11.
The players animations look as 'stiff' and 'robotic' as they did in WSC Real '11.

4) Audio.
Now, i played the game as soon as it was installed (PS4) before the updates had even finished downloading and installing, so this may have already been fixed, but I'll mention it anyway.
I noticed when hitting the cue ball, at say, 70%, it sounded the same when hitting it 30%. Hitting the ball say, over 80% sounded ok.

Other things i noticed, but aren't problems/issues with the game it self:
- Not being able to create your own character. I'd have loved to be able to create ME in the game, and start out at the bottom and work my way up to the professional level of the game.
This is an odd thing to leave out of the game, since it is a staple in pretty much every game, and has been since even on the playstation 1 era as far as i recall.

- Play as 'Legends' of the game. I would really have loved to recreate old matches, like Jimmy White VS Alex Higgins, or John Parrot VS Alex Higgins.

I would like to be able to play a friend online, without a shot timer or frame limit. So the option to turn off shot timer and set frames to like they would have in the real world final would be great.
I know not everyone (myself included) could be able to sit down and play a friend online for say, 19 frames (or whatever it is) in one sitting, so they'd have to make it so you could save the game and be able to resume, and that might be tricky to do because it's not just one persons data they'd have to try and link up to the game server and sync upto the last save point, it's two sets of data to link upto the game server, and make it all work.

Anyway, don't be put off, buy the game. If you enjoyed WSC Real '11, you'll love this.

4,0 sur 5 étoiles Originally rated 3☆.... but the developers have listened, and now this is a deserving 4☆ game 👍.

I was so eager to give this 5 stars... but i can't currently... as someone has pointed out, the lack of a create player option isnt great in a.... individually focused, solo based sport game 🤨.... if ever there was a purpose for a 'create your own'...surely that is a misjudgement, and i doubt this will ever come about now the game has been released.

I have edited this review, as at release date, the best i could give this game was 3* until theu improved the online play, well, to the developers credit, they updated alot since, and this gsme is so much more playable (online particularly)... and therefore pleased to update my review equally, well done Lab42 for making this a fantastic snooker game, enjoyable on and offline... varied difficulty (with the introduction of pro+ and master+ difficultys, new cutscenes, new intros, improved lighting, lengthened match and shot timers to a respectable and actually enjoyable length now, means there is alot more opportunity for safety play... these developers are clearly listening to all the input players are giving, and they are acting eefectively to make this game better still, well done, now a deserving 4* game, can they improve it further? Where i could justify changing to a 5*? Time may well tell

One more note...theres no pool incase anyone was curious...im not too bothered by that....but im sure some will be.

3,0 sur 5 étoiles Poor ex-cues for a snooker game
Commenté au Royaume-Uni le 29 juillet 2019
I'm very disappointed with this game. Got a snooker game on xbox 360 so thought I'd buy a next gen version. It'll be better right. Uh uh. The graphics are great, as you'd expect. However the animations are another story. Cue ball going through rest/spider. Players legs disappearing through the table. Players hitting the balls with their mind, cues still by their sides. My brother and I both have bad eyesight. No zoom feature, so when you want to fine tune your shot, it's a bit more hit and hope. Sometimes it gives a closer view but not on long shots. Practice mode? No. There is a guide showing you the basics. Press Triangle and you get free view mode. No zoom, no point. Career mode so far is impossible and you can't skip the cpu's shots. All you can do is speed the shot up. Get into a snooker and you've got very little chance of getting out of it as the aiming line doesn't show you where it'll hit. On the earlier xbox 360 version, you got that information. Two more game modes are six where you play with erm...six red balls as opposed to 15, and shootout. This is limited to a 10 minute match, with each shot having to be taken in less than 20 seconds. I thinkmy brother and I will probably play the xbox version more than this. If I could get roughly what I paid for it in part exhange, I would get rid of it, as it is I am kinda stuck with it. Wouldn't really recommend.
