    I have been a “student” of meditation for quite some time now. However, my use of the word “student” is quite literal. I have studied it, read about it, contemplated doing it, and never have actually done it. Yesterday morning I finally tried it. This book is a very basic, user-friendly guide to step-by-step meditation. It is for true beginners. It starts with the most basic stance of finding a quiet place to begin the exercise. It is amazing how hard that is! I thought that I had a place in my home picked out several different times. Each time, as I would start to really relax and my mind would begin to clear, I would hear a dripping, a creaking, a noise, a rattle, etc. It took me about an hour to realize that the experience of noticing those things, all of which had gone previously unnoticed, was the point of the exercise. I couldn’t have noticed all of those things if I wasn’t actually clearing my mind. I did it again this morning, with the right frame of mind about what I was doing, and it was amazing. This short little book made two huge points that changed this process for me. I’m not going to give them to you here. It’s worth the price of admission to find out for yourself. I am thankful for this book, as it helped me get back to basics.

    This book is about how to use Mindfulness meditation to understand yourself better and to see your way through the everyday problems that hold you back. I have read other books on meditation, and this is the best one. This book is a basic guide to mindfulness meditation. It starts with finding a suitable area to meditate, goes through learning the pose, and discusses the benefits of learning with a group or a teacher. The second chapter discusses the purpose of mindfulness meditation. One of the side benefits is relieving stress. The author discussed more benefits and talked about this meditation as a tool to help you get more out of your life.

    I have always had a hard time meditating because I get distracted very easily. By following the steps in this book, I was able to be very successful within just a few times of meditating. It is so important in our society to reach a state of such relaxation that we can let all of our stress go and this book will help anyone do that. I will definitely be continuing to follow the advice in this book and perfecting my mindfulness meditation.

    I consider myself a beginner with meditation and have learned how to get more out of meditation from this book. But what I truly liked, was when I showed the book to my friend who didn't believe in meditation, I was able to convince her to start meditating. It helped me really explain her how meditation could help her find more peace within herself and relieve her stress.
