HASH(0x972b2ccc) étoiles sur 5 Perhaps the best USA road atlas 12 août 2012
Par bob12and35 - Publié sur Amazon.com
This is a very good, usable road atlas. There are overlaps so you can easily find your way from one page to the next, and no splitting of words and even letters across pages, such as in the Rand McNally atlases.
The index is also good, and you don't have to already know which state a town is in to find it. A section on Michelin scenic drives is a bonus.
The main drawback that I can see is that the format is not large. That makes the atlas more manageable, but less spacious to read. Also, the scale for Mexico is way smaller than for the US. Even in Canada the scale is a bit too small.

HASH(0x963af15c) étoiles sur 5 good maps 1 octobre 2012

The maps appear to be up to date and cover down to most drivable roads. Although I note that it shows some roads here in New Mexico as navigable, when in fact they are on private ranch land and should you attempt to drive the roads you might face a locked gate, or even worse an armed cowboy asking you what the heck you think you are doing. The pages are very thin and hard to turn, would be a nightmare to use on the road without the assistance of a navigator. And, with my advancing age I really appreciate larger lettering, and larger maps, neither of which is contained in this atlas. I will stick with Rand McNally, even with their own drawbacks.

HASH(0x963af5b8) étoiles sur 5 Not what I was expecting 12 avril 2013

I do not like this road atlas and I am sending it back. Based on the reviews I thought I was getting a road atlas like the old school atlas I had for years. This atlas has flimsy pages that will not hold up to any type of use. Many secondary roads are missing. Useless unless you just travel the major highways. The format is inconvient and assumes that travelers only move from horizontaly across the country. I sometimes move vertically and so have to figure our the corresponding pages for most states which have been cut in half horizontaly. None of the products I've looked at have the quality my old atlas had.

HASH(0x963af5f4) étoiles sur 5 Excellent content... larger format would be nice 10 novembre 2012

I find the cartographic content of this to be excellent. I prefer it to the R-M equivalent. The spiral binding is appropriate to an in-service field book. My one suggestion would be to make this available in a larger format... tough in low-light and/or when you don't have a navigator with you.

I buy the new verision of this atlas every year since I found it (2010). I am on the road a lot and this is by far the best atlas on the market. It has literally gotten me across the country and back. Some might disagree, but I find this easier to use than a GPS. This and a compass is all you'll ever need.

The goods: Easy to navigate page to page (once you see how it's laid out, you'll never use another atlas), the spiral bind lays flat on my center console for easy access, it shows attractions and campgrounds, the paper has some kind of plastic sealent so it doesn't get stained or ripped easily, if there is an inaccuracy with the maps I have never found one,

The bad: It doesn't lay golden eggs? Seriously, I can't think of one. Keep it up Michelin!
