Présentation de l'éditeur

Terrorists are creating a climate of fear on the planet Arrosa, and although no demands have been made, nor claims of credit taken for the attacks, the Prime Minister believes that the government of their neighboring planet, Selax, is solely responsible. As commander of the only Space Command base in that part of space, Captain Jenetta Carver is responsible for maintaining the peace, and the task of preventing a system-wide war falls squarely upon her shoulders. Since the dispatched diplomatic corps hasn't yet arrived at the base, she must resolve the disputes without their assistance. The people of the two planets share a common genus and ancestry, and Captain Carver manages to convince the two planetary governments to accept binding arbitration, but one party ingeniously stalls the talks for their own purposes.

Meanwhile, several Milora have been discovered in the company of an arms merchant's Tsgardi henchmen. The Milori, an ugly warlike race often compared more to cockroaches then humanoid life forms, come from a home planet well outside Galactic Alliance borders. There's an old saying in Space Command that, like cockroaches, if you see one Milora, there're probably a thousand more concealed nearby. And Jenetta knows that a thousand hostile warriors in GA space can only mean serious trouble is brewing. She immediately dispatches a ship to investigate an Intelligence Section report of Milori sightings near a planet in the GA's Frontier Zone.

The GSC destroyer Ottawa, following up on the lead, locates a task force of Milori warships exactly where reported, and the captain demands an explanation of their presence in GA space. The Milori respond with action rather than words, leaving little doubt about their intentions, and events begin spiraling out of control.

I recently discovered the "A Galaxy Unknown" series (This is book 5) and have plowed through them, enjoying each one thoroughly. This one was no exception.

A classic Space Opera story, with engaging and interesting characters, and well-thought space battle action. The character development reminds me of David Weber's Honorverse, without the complex sub-plots. It's a much easier, and much more fun, read than Weber's books.

I highly recommend this series.

Loved it! Another AGU hit, and a good look at Jen's feelings about the things happening around and about her.
Cannot wait for the 6th book, due out February 1, 2011.

Bought this E-book(MILOR), at about 6am saturday 12/18/10. Finished it shortly after supper at about 7pm . Am I a speed reader NO, in fact reread many pages because I enjoy the main character so much.
If your a Sci-FI fan, this series is a must read, if you like a strong lead character (male or female),that lead from the front of the action look no further.
If you want to compare and criticize buy the classics, if sci-fi genre is read for entertainment, Buy this series
Now my complaints or suggestions: where's the " Colorado "(that super fast and tough ship that brought Jennetta to Steward SCB in book 4). Why are the sisters being under-utilized, Give the Milori King his wish, sent the three Craver girls (Jennetta,Eliza and Christa)to Milor with Colorado type ships and "Kick some Milori Butt"
And finally this book was not long enough I kept looking at the page numbers wishing they would go backward and dreading coming to the last page.
Can't wait for the next book, hope its twice as long

Book 5 of the "Galaxy Unknown" series has Jenetta Carver battling an alien race called the Milor. As usual she kicks some serious Alien butt and the Galactic Alliance show their gratitude by giving her yet another promotion. If you enjoy great Military SciFi and Space Opera, this series is a must.

Good character development. Sterotypes meet expectations. The plot details differ enough from the prototype to keep my attention. David Weber's "Honor Harrington" series was the model for this universe.
