Someone wrote that they were suspicious about the reviews. I think that people were probably given this book in advance to review before it was released, and that they quickly wrote their review as soon as it was released. Nothing to really be suspicious about - that's kind of the way it works with a lot of books. For instance, I received this book from Hay House in exchange for a review. I didn't have to give a good review - I just had to give a review. And I think that is what happened with the other people. (They just got their book before me.) Just thought I would mention that.

Anywase, I loved this book. I've wanted to meditate for as long as I can remember, and I've tried (for as long as I can remember) without a lot of luck. Meditation just hasn't stuck for me because it seems too hard. I usually end up falling asleep or getting lost in my thoughts before I can really experience the calmness that meditation is supposed to offer. But, with Mind Calm, I found the opposite to be true.

The technique is so simple and easy to implement. I find it easy to pull myself back into the technique when I get lost in thoughts, and I'm excited to to do it, which keeps me awake. Although, he does say that falling asleep sometimes is okay, especially if your body needs rest. He calls that meeps - sleeps that start out with a short meditation.

I can say that I look through a different lens after reading this book. It is exciting, and I am consciously aware of what is causing so many chaotic thoughts in my mind, as well as what to do to start to slow down those thoughts and get into the present moment where calm is waiting for me.

The end of the book as a 10-part program to help you implement the techniques you learn and make doing daily meditation a habit. It also has daily techniques to use to become more aware and present, which eliminates a lot of those constant, negative thoughts in your mind.

Anyone who wants a calmer mind, as well as the ability to meditate, should gain value from this book. Every chapter had insight that has changed my life in some way.

I’d heard a lot about Sandy Newbegging’s Mind Calm techniques so wanted to try them out for myself. Here are just o few of the benefits I have gained since using this technique:

It’s a simple and effective technique to learn and creates peace and stillness of mind in a very short space of time. You can do it anywhere, on the bus, at home, in the bath, and basically it’s portable and can be used wherever you are. You don’t need any fancy clothing to have to sit in a certain position you simply use it in any situation you are in.

I feel a sense of inner stillness, a silence, expansion, ease and flow where my thinking literally stops and I end up ‘just being’ every time I use it. It’s calming and brings you back to the here and now rather than finding yourself lost in a story from the past or worrying about the future.

If you have a chaotic mind (I think we all do at times) you can use this technique in the moment or take up daily practice if you wish to for just 5-10 mins a day. It does what it says on the tin...calms your mind, what could be better than that.

Instead of buying medicine to ease your emotional or physical problems, get this book in your medicine cabinet, the side effects are only positive ones.

I've read several books on the subject of meditation, and this is one of the best. The author does a great job of making deep meditative states understandable and accessible without getting too wordy or guru-ish. If you'd like to learn meditation, but find you just can't quiet your mind, then this is the book you're looking for. I'd also recommend it to anyone who has been meditating for awhile, and would like to explore new techniques. I, personally, found the chapters on stillness and putting things in context to be the most profound and helpful. Sandy Newbigging has created a great system in Mind Calm, and you can't help but be changed by this book. I was given a copy of Mind Calm by the kind folks at Hay House Publishing for review purposes. I was not paid for my opinion, and it is my honest assessment of the work.
