Présentation de l'éditeur

Maria Montessori is possibly the most important pioneer in the area of child development ever to have lived. She opened the first Childrens' House in Rome in 1907 where she developed her theories and put them into practice. Today, there is a network of Montessori schools around the world. Montossori Read & Write makes the acclaimed methods used in those schools available to all parents who wish to give their child the best possible start on the road to reading and writing. Illustrated in colour throughout, with sections on how human beings acquire language, how to create an environment which gives the best chance for language to flourish, first steps towards reading and writing, learning to write the letters, starting to read with meaning and creative and accurate story writing, the book is full of age-graded games and activities to aid learning, and has a resources section designed to be appropriate for different geographical regions and/or languages. It includes a reading list, resources list and suggestions for scripts. Easy and fun to use, this informative and practical book is essential reading for any parent who wants to ensure the best start for their child.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Very Helpful and Easy to Read! 30 janvier 2010
Par Lisa Nolan - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
The book starts with an Introduction which includes background about Maria Montessori. There are nine chapters with activities you can do at home or in a classroom setting. There is also a template and resources chapter. There are very nice photographs throughout. Most of the activities have a photo, some are text only. Below is an outline of each chapter.

I gave this book five stars out of five. It is full of helpful information, and easy to read with both color and black and white photographs. The activities are those found in Montessori classrooms and can be duplicated at home. I think it is ideal for ages 2 to 6.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Excellent resource~ 16 décembre 2009

Whether you are using Montessori method or not, this book is an outstanding resource to help your children enhance their ability to read and write. Using non-overt methodology and letting the child lead the way and assert themselves via curiosity so as not to stress the child out, is the best. These techniques are very good in that way. My kids are 20 mos old and can already write the first letter to their names. I'm not seeking for MENSA status for them, rather, letting their natural curiosity lead the way.

I highly recommend this book. The seller is good and I received it within the parameters of the shipping timeframe.

Though the pictures in the book are a little dated the content is wonderful. It's great book with low cost ways to teach your children to read & write using the Montessori method at home. I am homeschool mom of three children using the Montessori method but, I am on a very tight budget. This book is full of low cost-free ideas for teaching your children to read & write using the Montessori method. The book is easy to read & follow. I am using this book to teach both my 4 & 6 year old how to read & write with great ease.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 An Excellent Start-up Book for the Montessori Method 11 octobre 2002
Par Kate Harris - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
My oldest son attended a Montessori school for the first 5 years of his formal schooling and I believe it gave him a firm foundation for his future schooling. Now I have two small children and I also want them to be exposed to the Montessori method, however, I want to homeschool them as well. This seemed a formidable task until I found Lynne Lawrence's book, as well as "Teaching Montessori In the Home by Elizabeth G. Hainstock", which gives me the guidelines and instruction I need to successfully utilize the Montessori method in my own home. I highly recommend this book to all parents, whether homeschooling or not.

I checked out this book from our local Library and loved it. All the exercises provided, the sequences and suggestions have served to reinforce what our preschooler was learning in his Montessori classroom. I'm excited to see him writing after only a couple of months! And with interest and enthusiasm!!!
