Description du produit

Présentation de l'éditeur

Nikola Tesla has been called the most important man of the twentieth century. Certainly he contributed more to the field of electricity, radio, and television than any other person living or dead. Ultimately he died alone and impoverished having driven all of his friends away through his neurotic and eccentric behavior. Tesla was never able to fit into the world that he found himself in. This autobiography, originally serialized in Electrical Experimenter, is an intensely fascinating glimpse into the mind of a genius, his inventions, and the magical world in which he lived.

The visions of a genius, the link between knowledge, technology and peace is clear in Tesla's book. You won't understand much of the electric part without any background in electrical engineering but I guess that is isn't the main point here.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great Read - Get to Know the Mythical Tesla 30 mars 2016

I have been a Tesla fan since I was in grade school but somehow had never read his autobiography until now. It's a great read and it is awesome to hear what he has to say straight from the source. He is an eloquent writer and organizes his thoughts very well. I felt like he was corresponding directly with me while reading this book. And, I learned things about him I had not read elsewhere. The book turns him from this mythical mad inventor and genius beyond humanity's capabilities into a real person. I read the book in two nights; it isn't very long and is interesting enough to binge read. I imagine many people will read the book in a single sitting. If you are a Tesla fan, absolutely read this book. Even if you are one of those boring and misinformed Edison fans, you'll dig this read.

I've been a Fan of His ever since I read about his "Argonne Theory in Grade School.

It broke my heart that so many were lined up behind him to take advantage of him.
TAKE THAT BACK, IT ANGERED ME THAT SO MANY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HIM!
Very good book, but, I'm hope I'm around for the next episode when KARMA GETS THOSE GREEDY BUGGARS that didn't treat him right.

"Life is as shakie as a Fiddler on the Roof !"
When I meet Tessla in the next life I'll be giving him a "HEART TO HEART HUG !"
PEACE BE WITH HIS SOUL.
Sincerely, Rene

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Interesting history. 20 janvier 2015

I learned a lot about Tesla's life, especially his youth. Some instances are quite remarkable.

Since he writes about his life in the late 18 and early 19 hundreds, the language presented a slight challenge.

Some of the book explains technology related to
electrical engineering, which requires understanding in advance.

Interesting history with some drawbacks.

The book is interesting where Tesla describes his personality. The explanations of his technical inventions are beyond me. But, as to his psychology, Tesla had a mind keen to observe himself, his thoughts, emotions, actions. He found that he was comparable to a machine driven by impressions coming from the outside. A discovery that would be applauded by Gurdjieff, Nicoll or Ouspensky: the discovery of one's mechanical behaviour as a fact is nothing less than realising one is asleep and it is the first step out of one's slumber. Contrary to most people, Tesla was not emotionally devastated by the fact that he was not in control of his life. He didn't try to cover it up, suppress it, nor deny it to himself or others. A true scientist to the core, he accepted it as a fact without further ado. If it is true, then it is, and so be it.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 A peek into the mind of a whacko genius 6 mars 2015
Par Anthony Fiore - Publié sur Amazon.com

While clearly a genius, Tesla is a zany and meandering writer. This book is a random dribble of lifetime accounts told by perhaps one of the strangest and most intelligent men of the Industrial Age. It was an entertaining read due to Tesla's grandiose accounts of his own physical and mental achievements while simultaneously downplaying his business failures and deadly illnesses. The book comes to a sudden stop as Tesla justifies why his most powerful inventions were never realized.
