Présentation de l'éditeur

Erin Benson felt like she'd won the lottery when she arrived all the way from North Dakota with the keys to her first home in hand.
Crisp white walls: Check.
Breathtaking view of downtown Boston: Check.
Minutes from Northeastern School of Law: Check.

But home is not always where the heart is. Sometimes it’s where you find Mr. Random shacked up and sprawled out on what was supposed to be your new bed.
Between the bear spray and the handcuffs, she discovers a terrible mistake has been made.
Lochlan hasn't broken into her new home to sleep with a seedy barmaid...he owns half.

With emotions running on high, Erin is determined to tough it out until a solution can be found.
The tight quarters seem smaller with his accumulated clutter and bizarre sleeping schedule. It also doesn't help that he's the new lead singer for Thin Ice, an indie band on its rise to fame.
What happens when a quiet bookworm gets stuck with a relentless rocker?
What happens when the things you see are not the things you get?

Note générale 1/5

Premier livre en anglais que je termine. Je suis devenue complètement accro a ce bouquin et je l'ai lu en un temps record jusqu'à des heures tardives la nuit.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 I liked the story, but... 10 juin 2013

I really liked the story and the way it was written, it was sweet, super angsty, and even sad. I liked their relationship and especially the way it started, the whole build up of the friendship first, and you could honestly see how they would fall in love. I liked most of the characters, but what I didn't like was Erin, she was super annoying, I know running was her thing and she had a reason for it, but for crying out loud it was too much. But I liked how others called her out on it and didn't treat her like she was never at fault.

She's the reason for the four stars, but also because of the grammatical errors. I think it was written well from a story telling point, but the grammatical errors were bad. I don't normally point that out because like I've said before, I don't write books, but sometimes there were clearly words missing, and there was even a scene (that I won't say because it's kind of a big point in the book) where I got lost and I had to read it a couple of times.

But will I still recommend this book? Absolutely, those couple of faults should be looked past because it was a good story.

Approx 4400 locations... Well worth the $0.99 I paid for it.

I have never read anything by this author before, but I saw this book on the top 100 list and all the "other customers have purchased" lists and decided to read the sample. Hook. Line. And Sinker. The crazy beginning and the humorous dialogue reeled me right in and I just had to buy it.

There's romance... sex... humor... anger... jealousy... uncertainty... hope... doubt... passion... intensity... honesty... heartbreak... misunderstandings... manipulation... regret... friendship... sibling relationships... parent/child relationships... straight relationship... gay relationship (love Gerry, the drummer, & Dean!)... self-realization... Basically, a chaotic whirlwind of a relationship between a mostly straight laced law student and a just hit the big time indie rock/pop star singer who struggles with reigning in his emotions. There is something that is revealed at the end, but I'm not going to say anything else so I don't spoil anything.

I thoroughly enjoyed the love story of the Princess and the Rock Star. There were times when I found myself thinking "oh no, not again" or "grow up already." Other than some minor typos, I definitely recommend this book and I was completely entertained.

Even though the author said on the blurb there would be no sequels, I would just like to say that I would totally read another book about Lochlan & Erin or Gerry & Dean or even Erin's brother, Danny or one of the other band mates.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Excellent read but with some frustrations.. 8 janvier 2014

A great storyline and excellent characters that I fell in love with and want more from (is there a possibility a book spinoff between Dean & Gerry or Danny & Lise??) the book pulls you in to feel the relationships and chemistry within the characters but I was frustrated at the acceptance of Lachlan’s frequent rage burst like it was a normal and ok thing for someone with a mental illness (ADHD) to not medical because it interfered with his creative mind, with his friends and families support?? I feel that Lachlan serious rage issues and outbursts were played down and I worry impressionable young readers will learn to accept friends/family/partners abusive behaviour. My other frustration was Erin’s constant running due to her insecurities within the relationship, sure it had sense to be written into the story line but they were so frequent I started skim reading over them and started to lose interest in the book.

Did I enjoy the book? YES
Did I stay up late to finish reading it in one day because I couldn't put it down? YES
Would I recommend the book? Yes, I would but with a disclaimer
3.0 étoiles sur 5 Funny! 4 avril 2014

This was a good, funny read. It was the perfect book for the mood I was in. I think my favorite part was the initial meeting between Erin and Loch. I mean what's funnier than pepper spray?

Erin shows up at her newly painted renovated apartment only to find out she isn't the only one renting the apartment. Since it's right before the school season is set to start there isn't any other apartments available, so Erin has no other choice but to be roomates with Loch.

The book follows their friendship, that soon turns into something more, but will Erin be able to handle it? She doesn't realize it, but Loch is a local heart throb and lead singer of a popular band.

I enjoyed the book, it was a solid 3.5 stars

Erin expects a fresh start in an apartment by herself. Lochlan also thinks he has the apartment to himself. But almost as soon as Lochlan meets Erin he wants her. Can he prove that she is it for him? Can the people surrounding them help her see the truth? Can Erin let her life plan go and live life as it comes at her? Do they end up together or let each other go for good?

I enjoyed the writing style and the plot of the story. It was a fun and unique story in my opinion. While the characters were dynamic and full of life I wasn't entirely a fan. I feel that Lochlan and Erin needed some kind of communication between them. I think if they actually talked about the important things I would have liked their characters even more. I absolutely loved all the other characters. I needed more togetherness and less running or pushing away.

All in all it was a good story and I can't wait to read more like it soon. Like I said I would have liked it more if the characters communicated with each other more. But with such a good story line, writing style and back ground characters I still absolutely loved the book.

4.5 stars
