In the box, there was the case, in a plastic bag and surrounded by ample amounts of styrophone to keep it safe. It came with a handy "how to build a PC" manual and many skeletons screws, all to be expected, but it also came with a bunch of mini cable ties which is very nice of NZXT to add into the package.
To pull either side panel off you use thumb screws and the front just clips on, so it's a nice touch to not have to use any tools to get into your case. The majority of the external of the case is made from steel and this gives it a very nice finish. I feel the case looks amazing and with the vents placed at the top on the left side of the case and vertically on the right side towards the front. The large window so you can see all the insides is a major plus in any case.
From my experience, this case has amazing soundproofing, which I feel is very desirable in a case. Under the PSU there is a dust tray that you can actually just pull out without removing anything else of the case. This is great to clean it quickly, it's nice that cleaning my PC doesn't feel like such a chore. The cable management within the case is really something else, it hides everything perfectly with space to spare. This case really does feel very premium and just intuitive.
Now I feel NZXT have done an amazing job on this case however it is not without its faults. It does not have an external optical drive bay which will be a deal breaker for some people. When I received my case it did have some small dents in the soundproofing material, again not a major issue and will not affect purpose at all, it was just a bit of a let down that they had so much protection during delivery but the damage was obviously done before that. Thumb screws, a great idea. When they work that is, I can never seem to undo my thumb screws by hand; maybe I am doing them up too tight, I don't know. It was even a struggle out of the box, though. lastly, you can see small clips around the windowed panel on the case, you can only see these when looking closely, but when you do notice them it really ruins the clean feel of the case. I assume they serve some purpose though and it isn't a major issue at all.
I love this case and I am really happy with my purchase. this case perfectly fulfills my needs and looks great while doing it. I love the elegant and clean design of it. personally, I didn't want an optical bay so not having the space for one wasn't an issue at all for me. you can really feel a lot of thought, time and dedication has gone into the building of this product. if you can get over not having an external optical drive this case is an amazing choice and well worth the money.

The case can support up to 11 x 3.5" or 8 x 2.5" which are hidden from the window and that includes two 2.5" bays above the power supply. Speaking of which, that's handily hidden from the window too. Cable management is really nicely done here - it's so easy to hide all your loose cables. Lastly, there is some LED lighting. The NXZT logo on the power supply is lit up as well as the ports at the back and each can be optionally turned off. A big feature of the case is that it includes noise-dampening foam material around the case to keep noise to a minimum. You are going to get some noise no matter what but it's still fairly quiet.

The metal is scratch resistant, but the side window is not - which is probably my only real complaint. I cleaned it with a microfiber cloth and even that created a ton of micro scratches, so wiping off dust etc is very difficult without scratching it. Despite that, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a mid tower case.
1) In order to fit a normal sized graphics card, I had to remove every hard drive bay
2) The thumb screws throughout the case felt so cheap and you can only tighten them about 5% of the way in with your hands.
3) There is not enough room to have cables without them making the side panel bulge.
4) The front panel connectors are that small that it took about an hour to connect them all, then realising that the majority are the wrong way around because there is no indication on the connectors to tell you which side is positive or negative.
Overall I would buy from a better company such as; Corsair, Cooler Master or Fractal Designs.
The NZXT H440 ticked most of my boxes though so I bit the bullet.
The case is described as a midi tower and is a substantial size, compared to my old Cooler Master Elite case at least. The size means this is a very easy case to work with. I'm not an expert with cable management but I was able to end up with a quite tidy looking install. The power supply shroud is pretty ease to work with and helps keep cables away from the motherboard.
The included PWM fan fub works well, with fans managed and coming on as needed. When idle this thing is virtually silent.
There is space on top for a water cooler - I opted to keep the rear fan where it was and installed a Corsair H45 on top.
The case is pretty high quality and comes with easy to remove dust filters. I've dropped a star because the holes for a couple of side panel screws seem a bit dodgy with the screws not going in smoothly. Apart from that though, no issues.
