I bought this book because it intrigued me that Ms. Gee said she got annoyed at cookbooks without pictures or cookbooks that say half way through the recipe you need something that you don't have. This is a pet peeve of mine, too. I love to cook and since I also have written some recipe books I agree, missing steps is awful. You will not have that problem with Ms Gee's book. This is so complete a 5 year old (if they could read) could follow this book. In fact with the pictures, they may not have to read too much. There are pictures for every step, and equivalent UK and US measurements. I think she has thought of every possible thing that could go wrong and added corrections to keep it from happening. If you have never baked bread, especially wholemeal bread, this is your book. If you have baked bread, be ready for a treat. This has more tips and tricks than the oldest baker in the town. It is only ONE recipe, very detailed. There's only one thing I would change...with a VERY sharp Serrated knife you can carefully SAW into that warm bread. I can't wait until it is cool!

I often make bread sandwiches and evening dessert but Nana's book add an extra flavor I that I couldn't refuse. I used this recipe yesterday and I enjoyed the result it gave, delicious and extremely moist than most wheat bread I tasted. If you are looking for a great recipe when making brown bread, look no further.

Highly recommended!
