La possiblité d'ajouter quelques gouttes d'huile essentielle permet en plus d'un air sain, d'avoir une odeur très agréable.
I had been interested in this product for some time but was somewhat reluctant to buy it due to the lack of reviews so I hope this will help all of those interested.
The unit itself is quite small, smaller than I expected but of a beautiful design. The Zinc base looks very chic but does incur some movement if the unit is knocked or brushed accidentally, very little, more of a back and forth wobble but it keeps the base flat on the floor still.
It is almost ready to operate you just need to remove it from the box, remove the plastic covering from the carbon activated filter and write the date on it as this needs changing every 6 months or sooner depending on the level of air contamination (probably a lot sooner for a heavy smoker) and then pop it back in. You also have to make sure the HPP filter is locked into place. Unfortunately as much as I tried to research this method of HPP filtration, which is currently patent pending, I didn't have much luck.
It does however seem to be based on 3 methods of filtration - the pre-filter is a form of impingement (trapping larger particles i.e. dust and hairs) the HPP polarizes (charges the particles which are then caught on the powerful magnetic plates) I believe that the HPP filter agglomerates (groups together the particles) which enables the very small particles of 0.3 microns (Microns are basically a measurement of size; 1 micron = 1/25,400 of an inch, e.g. a human hair is 150 microns and 33 smoke particles are 10 microns) such as viruses and bacteria to be collected together. But don't quote me on that until I get a reply from Stadler Form for those of you interested.
The pre-filter looks quite cheap and flimsy but after researching air filtration methods apparently the thicker the pre-filter then the more airflow that needs to be generated in order for it to pass through to the main filter, which basically means it would be a lot noisier and at the end of the day the pre-filter is designed simply to trap large dust particles and hair etc. thereby protecting the HPP filter which is the machine doing all of the work.
The HPP filter itself seems a lot sturdier in design and can be washed in cold water but needs to be 100% dry before placing it back in the unit. Instructions are included on the side and it looks pretty easy to accomplish.
The carbon activated filter is very light and again looks a little cheap, it also states that the filter will smell a little the first time you use it. This is true but not at all unpleasant and strong in odour (smells very clean to be honest)and you need to be with your face directly above the unit in order to catch a small whiff, but this goes after an initial use) I guess this is the same principle as Brita water filters and how you have to cycle 2 jugs of water before using it.
Once all of that is done push the back door cover into place until you hear a click and the door is closed.
There is also a small compartment that you can push to open for dispensing essential oils but it is recommended not to overdo this (1-2 drops maximum) as it could damage the machine, it states this twice in the user manual so personally I don't plan on using this just to keep Viktor as happy as possible for as long as possible.
Once all of that is done, plug in the unit and your ready to go.
The top of the unit has the control panel integrated with 4 buttons;
- On the far right is the on/off switch
- To the left of that is the speed selector 5 speeds;
Level 1 - Very quiet e.g. for bed time use
Level 2 - Quiet for bedrooms or smaller rooms
Level 3 - for continuous daytime use in rooms 25m squared
Level 4 - for continuous daytime use in rooms 50m squared
Level 5 - Very noisy for quick purification
- Underneath that is the timer selector
- To the far left the dimmer switch for the LED display lights.
The buttons are integrated beautifully into the design and at first are a bit tricky to see. The LED lights are quite bright but can be dimmed, which I have done already even for daytime use, it might have been more useful to turn them off all together really.
The quiet mode is perfect for bedtime and generates very little noise indeed, far from the noise level produced by an oscillating fan, which can often be unbearable.
Levels 2-3 are bearable and from level 4 onward if it's in a bedroom you wont be sleeping much with that amount of noise, its better suited as stated for larger rooms.
Level 5 is great for a quick clean for example of a smoky room - just tried it with some friends, put the unit in the bedroom and closed the door. Seems to work quite well as the room of about 13m Squared cleared quite relatively quickly in approximately 3 minutes.
With regards to dust, pollen, pollution, viruses etc. I can not comment as yet but a rare video review I found stated that it didn't clean as much dust as the reviewer would have liked.
All in all so far I am pleased with the unit, it's design incorporates beautifully in any environment and it is highly effective against odours and smoke.
I would say for the future that the pre-filter could be somewhat better made, there should be an option to turn off the LED lights completely and the possibility of a remote control would be good as well.
Overall mark 8/10

I just received this a few days back and I am very pleased with it. I use this in our living room which is roughly 400 square feet. On the lowest setting the noise level is barely perceptible, and on the highest setting it will remove odors and dust from this sizable room.
I will say that I wish this unit does not require carbon filter replacement. I used to have an air purifier that NEVER needed filter replacements and simply needed to be washed.
Additionally, from a purely design point of view this unit can be improved by making the unit a glossy white instead of the matte white it is now. Furthermore, I think it would look better if the base were a shiny aluminum or chrome rather than matte metal. Also, the power cord that comes with the unit is black, and it contrasts with the pristine white unit.
Outside of these design suggestions, the unit does its job perfectly. I'm glad I purchased and was not swayed by the negative reviews. Now if only they made a bigger version for larger rooms/houses...
The instructions on cleaning the cell are insane nothing but drawings maybe four on the side of the cell(nothing in the manual) telling me something can't even follow? one shows a 12hr waiting period??
Right that makes sense...heard of a hair dryer? Used that for all elctrostatic cells for years and workes perfect to dry them fast.
So basically a ton of hype on this, yes it does work and smells really clean on the output with nothing getting out on the grill like dust or hair etc. the 5 speeds are really lound except low so leave it there unless away and want it to go into high gear. It says to clean every 2 months.... not very scientific as most have detection and shut off or a light tells you to clean...we will see.
Some times when turning on there are sounds of a particle stuck in the cell andif that does not go away have to remove cell and put back in and all is well...only takes a minute to do.
