I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The cd I bought was unbelievably cheap, and came within 5 days of when I ordered it. Not even the cd store around the corner from my house could offer that service, they called me about a month too late haha.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Great mix of songs chosen from a wide range 25 mars 2006

People are usually upset that the soundtrack doesn't contain a song that they really want from the movie which makes them hesitate whether they should buy the CD or not. This is the first soundtrack I have come across that all the important favourite songs from the movie has been taken from.

Everyone keeps asking for the name of the particular song from a scene so here they are:
1. Never You Mind - Semisonic (Party at Robs)Good innocent party song. Very fun and catchy.
2. Standing By - Willis (Carnival) Perfect fit with the scene. Acoustic Guitar Guru. It's a Don't Worry Be Happy song. Very joyful. Feel like shaking a pair of rattles to this song.
3. Lucky Denver Mint - Jimmy Eat World (Havn't heard this song in the movie)Smooth relaxing song, you know those ones that make you feel like you're drifting on a cloud.
4. Problem - Remmy Zero (Not heard) Not that great. But I don't hate it.
5. Erase & Rewind - Cardigans (Prom King and Queen have their first dance) I love this song! Great slow song to dance to.
6. Closer To Myself - Kendall Payne (Josie walks through men's change room to see coach)I like it.
7. At My Most Beautiful - R.E.M. (Guy walks out of Josie's room after he he ask her to the prom)Sweet and also relaxing.
8. Catch A Falling Star - Block (Opening credits) Such a catchy song to sing along to. A classic remake of Perry Como. You would have heard this song on Princess Diaries, if you've seen it.
9. Candy In The Sun - Swirl 360 (At the prom where these dudes melt the ice sculpture)Great pop/rock song to dance to.
10. Until You Loved Me - The Moffatts (End credits) A mix of pop, country, and rock. Very catchy but kind of too dopey love for me.
11. Cumbia De Los Muertos - Ozomatti (Josie enters DELOSER and hears band playing) You'll like it if you like Jamaican music.
12. Watching The Wheels - John Lennon/Yoko Ono (Josie is at home putting her pillow to her collection)
13. Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want - The Smiths (I THINK THIS IS THE SONG PEOPLE WERE LOOKING FOR, IT'S WHEN JOSIE AND MR. COULSON DANCE) I'll like this song even if I didn't hear it in my favourite teen movie.
14. Innocent Journey - Sonichrome (First song for end credits) Can be loved by the catchy tune by most people. But I also think the tune was annoying. Still good though.
15. Don't Worry Baby - The Beach Boys (When Josie has her you know, at the championships) The Beach Boys are my favourite oldies band and I can't believe I havn't heard this before. This is definitely my favourite song after, I Get Around, from them.
16. A Girl Named Happiness (Never Been Kissed) - Jeremy Jordan (Not in the Movie)This is Jeremy Jordan? The guy who played Guy Perkins? He sounds a whole lot different compared to his song The Right Kind of Love. Such a beautiful song sung perfectly and differently (deeper and soother)by Jeremy. Recommended since no one has heard it before. I like this song better than The Right Kind of Love.

Important Songs that isn't on soundtrack but in movie (If You Have Been Looking For A Song, Read This):

She Bop-Cyndi Lauper: Flashback of Josie getting Soda in her baackpack. No it doesn't sound like MmmBop.

Saburban Life-Kottonmouth Kings: Josie hops out of Rob's car on first day.

Seventeen (DEMO)- Jimmy Eat World: Josie gets ready for highschool. It goes, "you're only, you're only seventeen."

(I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight- Cutting Crew: First Appearance of Guy Perkins, thought it was Billy.

Three is a Magic Number- Blind Melon: The mathletes at work.

Free to be your and me- The New Seekers: Josie and nerd singing in car.

Here We Go- Stakka Bo: Josie climbs into George's van.

Me, Myself and I- De La Soul: Josie says hi to classmates while they point at her saying "loser!"

Like A Prayer- Modonna: Flashback of Josie getting ready for prom.

Go Daddy O- Big Bad Voodoo Daddy: Rob tries to get others to like Josie.

Heaven Tonight- Hole: Josie, Kristen, Kirsten, and Gibby go shopping.

Nowhere slow- Homegrown: Gibby getting out of limo.

Bitter- Pietasters: Josie's assistant dances infront of the TV.

Riot Nrrrd- 2 Skinnee J's: Nerds dressed as Double Helix enter the prom.

Look Who's Perfect Now- Transister: When the teachers announce the prom queen.

Stay- Radford: When Prom continues after Rob and Josie have left. (Recommend!)

That's it! I highly suggest people to buy the album if you loved the songs in the movie because the songs are really, really hard to find to download. If you only liked one song than it's a waste of your money to buy it. Have a nice time listening to them.

I must admit, I wasn't a great fan of this movie mainly because I actually bought the soundtrack BEFORE I saw it. I heard strains of "candy in the sun" on the movie trailer and thought "I have to have that soundtrack". since I bought it, it has become my opiate - an addictive album that I play non stop. 1. Semisonic's great Never You Mind is a sentimental favourite as I have been a fan of them for years. 2. YAY! Willis. Had never heard of him before but wow! Talk about a singalong feelgood song. I get hyperactive just thinking about it 3. One of my favourite songs on the album, Lucky Denver Mint. Has a great guitar background and his voice is so growly. I love it. 4. Remy Zero add a little grunge influence to this album - a song that only appears for two seconds in the film but makes a nice impression on the soundtrack 5. The Cardigans at their trippy best. Nina Perssons voice is so original and hypnotic. 6. Every pop soundtrack has to have some chick rocking out and this is a positive example. Kendall Payne has done well 7. AHHHH! REM. One of my favourite bands at an unforseen mellow ballady moment. this is a nice song, although a touch overlong 8. The opening song "catch a falling star" is a song that you can't help but like for its silliness. (Love the guy's attempt to sing like a woman at the end of the song!) 9. The reason why I bought this album - for a strain of the chorus of Candy in the sun, this is worth it. Love those harmonies, boys. 10. Real pop sounds of the Moffatts - for more, listen to the Teaching Mrs Tingle soundtrack. Now this is a song to make you smile. 11. Ozomatli add an interesting touch to the album with a very upbeat number (from the club scene) - I saw these guys at the Big Day Out festival this year. They have real presence. 12. Can't beat John Lennon for a good song. this song has always been a favourite song of his for me and it adds a nostalgic ambience to this otherwise very pop orientated album. 13. Oh yeah, the Smiths. Doing their very 80s best on this song which actually felt a little out of place on the movie and the album but I still like it anyway. 14. One of the real gems of the album, Sonichrome deliver a gorgeously 'innocent' naivety to this album with wonderful childlike lyrics, brilliant guitar solo and tuneful melodies which is really rare nowadays. 15. The Beach Boys with one of their more romantic tunes, Don't Worry, Baby, is a welcome entry, although will forever be associated with this movie. Brian Wilson's voice is unbelievably high when you contrast it with the rest of the stuff on the album
16. And a surprising ending to the album is former teen idol Jeremy Jordan who gives a nice folky touch to the album with strains of pop coming through. It grew on me.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone who just wants a soundtrack to listen to if you need cheering up or just a fun way to spend some time with friends. Pity Hole and Cutting Crew were left off the soundtrack

As I watched Never Been Kissed, the music struck me as exceptionally chosen for the moments in the movie that needed music most. This is a great CD contribed of 16 songs from very different eras of rock 'n' roll and just music in general. Let me give you a detailed description of this album.
1. Never You Mind (song playing at party at Rob's)- Excellent song with loud driving chorus and softer melodies. Great for parties, as it is seen in the movie, and great piano.
2. Standing By (song playing at carnival)- Great song with excellent vocals and lyrics.
3. Lucky Denver Mint (???)- Nice, but not as solid and memorable as some of the other tracks on this CD.
4. Problem (???)- Also nice, great words. Weak.
5. Erase/Rewind (Song played at prom for king and queen's dance) Great slow song by artist of "Lovefool".
6. Closer to Myself (song played when Josie goes into boys locker room)- Great beginning, drifts a bit, picks up, drifts, etc.
7. At My Most Beautiful (song played with one day to prom and Archie comic question)- very nice and poetic
8. Catch a Falling Star (opening credits)- Silly but fun. Great for dancing!
9. Candy in the Sun (song played when Tracy asks Rob to sleep with her)- Excellent and very pop-like.
10. Until you Loved Me (End credits after first song)- Short but sweet
11. Cumbia De Los Muertos (song played at club where Josie gets high)- Nice, rap sequence not heard in movie.
12. Watching the Wheels (Oh, I know this one! I forget)- Great (anything by Lennon is) Thank God Yoko is no where to be found.
13. Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want (song played when Eldis is save from Alpo)- Excellent!
14. Innocent Journey (end credits)- Very Fun!
15. Don't Worry Baby (song played during kiss on pitcher's mound)- Slower than most Beach Boys stuff, just to warn you.
16. A Girl Named Happiness (not in movie- sung by actor who plays Guy)- Slow and fresh!

4.0 étoiles sur 5 The soundtrack is more "rufus" than the movie ... 24 mai 2000

Okay, I found "Never Been Kissed" kind of silly as a film. I didn't loathe it, though, and one thing that stuck with me was the music. When I realized that I still remembered some of the songs after hearing them just once in the film, I decided to buy the soundtrack. It really isn't a bad disc! There are seven or eight (out of seventeen) genuinely GOOD songs. You can't miss with John Lennon's "Watching the Wheels" or the Beach Boys' "Don't Worry, Baby" ... so those are two of them. Semisonic gives us a nice, jangly pop number. Block's "Catch a Falling Star" is goofy yet charming, kind of in the same vein as that old Harry Nilsson tune, "Coconut." This song is one of the ones that I first heard in the movie (during the opening credits) and it stuck with me. R.E.M.'s Beach Boys-ish "At Your Most Beautiful" is another plus; a surprisingly lovely number! Speaking of surprises, the concluding track by Jeremy Jordan ("A Girl Named Happiness") is actually a very nice, kinda folky love song. I like Jeremy as an actor, but when I think of his music I always think of that cheeseball song from "90210" and his subsequent Vanilla Ice-wannabe album. Well, I guess he grew up, because again, his song here (which he even co-wrote) is more Pierce Pettis than Vanilla Ice. He sounds just a LITTLE boy-band at times, but overall it's good stuff! The Smith's tune is short but pretty and wistful. Finally, Sonichrome's "Innocent Journey" is pure pop bliss! This is the other song that stuck with me (it played during the END credits). Nice drums and harmonica, cute lyrics, great song! The soundtrack also includes some stuff that's ok but still needs to grow on me a little (Kendall Payne, Swirl 360, Willis) and a few tracks I skip over (the Moffatts aren't as annoying as Hanson or BSB, but they're still a little too bubblegum-sounding for my tastes.)Oh yes, there were also some songs in the movie that didn't make the soundtrack that I would like to have heard (entertaining 80s stuff, i.e. "I Just Died In Your Arms", "Me Myself and I"). Overall, however, the "Never Been Kissed" soundtrack is a pleasant, poppy experience with some real keepers -- and it definitely won't hurt you to buy it! I have to find more Sonichrome now....
