Présentation de l'éditeur

Third in the USA-Today and Kindle Top Ten bestselling Leigh Koslow Mystery Series!

"Edie Claire is a bright new mystery writer who appears already to be a master of characterization...The fast-paced story line retains a serious tone with humorous interludes to ease the tension and turn the sleuthing relatives into real people. NEVER PREACH PAST NOON is a winning amateur sleuth tale that showcases a new talent."—Midwest Book Review

Saints, sinners, and snoops!

Leigh Koslow's thrice-married Aunt Bess always was the black sheep of the family. That's why when Bess breaks her ankle falling down a flight of stairs in the middle of the night, Leigh isn't too surprised to discover that the stairs were someone else's. But when she discovers that the stairs belonged to Bess's happily wedded pastor, and that his house was burning down at the time, she can't help but be concerned.

The First Church of the New Millennium has problems—and Bess, with Leigh as her reluctant aide, is intent on solving them. Is the charismatic reverend Reginald Humphrey a saint among men, or a soulless con artist? With arson, burglary, and a possible abduction on the bulletin, Leigh enlists the aid of her favorite detective, Maura Polanski, to keep her aunt from becoming the next offering. But Bess isn't one to give up on a good cause, even when the postlude is murder.

"This is a tough one to put down."—Pittsburgh Magazine

"A very well told story with a great deal going on...if you enjoy light mysteries with lots of puzzles, you will enjoy this book."—I Love a Mystery

"The slightly cynical Leigh and her persistent Aunt Bess are engaging characters that add to the charm of the book."—Romantic Times

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Good book, some reviews have spoilers 12 novembre 2011

I enjoyed Never Preach Past Noon (Leigh Koslow Mystery Series). It tells the tale of a charismatic minister who is not what he seems. Leigh Koslow and her quirky family collaborate in their own unique way to solve the mystery. It was a light, quick read with a nice atmosphere and a satisfying ending.

If you write reviews, I hope you'll be careful not to give away plot twists and outcomes. Fortunately, before I read this book, I did NOT read the reviews here that contain spoilers. If spoilers without warnings bother you, you might want to skip otherwise well-written reviews by moe811, kellytwo, and klausner.

Edie Claire is a great writer. Her characters are real, her stories are original, fresh, and interesting. This book is an example of that. It's the third of the series. I enjoyed the story from page one. Fantastic. When I finished it I immediately started reading the next one. I didn't want to say goodbye to these great characters yet. I am enjoying the series very much. Thank you Ms. Claire for such wonderful books.

Here is another story with Leigh. This adventure and mystery involves her aunt and the new church across her back yard lot. Leigh must collect the clues and figure out how a minister has enchanted the whole congregation and has money flowing in to his personal charities...Her aunt "helps" her figure out who is telling the truth and who has secrets to hide!

This is the third book in the Leigh Koslow series, and I have now read all three and have just downloaded the fourth.
I don't normally enjoy American murder mysteries as much as the British ones, as they are so often designed to a predictable formula. Edie Claire's books though are the exception to the rule. They are quirky and filled with engaging, eccentric characters.
After reading the first three, I find myself very fascinated with Leigh, her bossy mother and collection of very endearing, if unconventional relatives. Aunt Bess, who plays a central role is this book, is a hoot. The uneasy vibes in the relationship between Leigh and Warren are a source of much humour and interest.
One of t he best aspects of this series is that Leigh is not your conventional heroine and 'detective'. She all too often is awkward and bumbles her way from one disaster to another. She is a person who is convincing and empathetic, and above all a refreshing contrast to the glamorous, glossy heroines of many books. I recommend this one strongly to all who enjoy a murder mystery with a touch of humour and sense of the ridiculous.

Never Preach Past Noon is the 3 book in the Leigh Koslow Mystery series. Many reviews contain portions of the story line or plot so I will mention what I like about this series.

I always enjoy and look forward to reading a new book in this series. They are fast reads for me as they hold my attention. Each book as been different, original and not formula driven. The characters are quite likeable. In this book, Leigh's aunts play a central role and are quite entertaining. The books, beside being a fast and entertaining reads, are quite relaxing. The final solution to the story was not evident until the author decided to reveal it. If you like cozy mysteries that have likeable characters, an engaging plot ,(not cookie cutter) and are light relaxing reads, you should like this series. I know that I do!
