The only con I have run into is wishing that I had purchased a larger model, as it is hard to fit a decent sized brisket into the pot with vegetables at the same time. Lately, I have been cooking the brisket by itself, then using the leftover spices and water to cook the cabbage and potatoes in, but they don't pick up as much of the flavor (needs larger portion of pickling spices than comes with the brisket) if I don't throw them in 15 minutes before the roast is supposed to be done cooking.
This little beauty comes from the US however and is a great size if you're cooking for two. It has more flat bottom space than a 10" skillet and is great for a number of tasks. I often use it to parboil vegetables prior to a saute as it's easy to change water and bring back to a boil without losing a beat. Additionally it's absolutely perfect for 2 small filets nestled together, finished with mushrooms, shallots and a reduction splash of red wine deglace. Pop the steaks back in and serve in the pan at the table... great meal, one pan to wash!
This is my first Amazon product review, but I feel that this battery charger is worth it. I do tech support within a small office and we use AA and AAA batteries constantly. After some staff bought Bluetooth keyboards which use EIGHT AA batteries, I felt we had to stop tossing batteries in the landfill. So I bought this charger and several packs of Emerging Power brand batteries to see if they could really replace standard throw-away batteries.
Three months later, I couldn't be happier -- the charger is quick, the batteries hold an excellent charge, and the whole package is very small (the charger is about the size of a cassette Walkman). And no more throwing away batteries when they're done -- staff just drop them in a "to be charged" tray on my desk.
The one drawback on my model (EP-SC) is the switch on the back for discharge/charge mode. The charger has a discharge mode to deplete batteries, then charge them to full capacity (recommended once every three months for optimal battery life). The problem is, the switch is labeled "1" and "2" which is meaningless without the included instruction pamphlet. I wrote "charge" (by "2") and "discharge" (by "1") on my charger with a Sharpie -- problem solved.
