Totale satisfaction avec mon lecteur Asus BW-D1HT.
Très simple d'installation et pilote automatiquement installé sous Windows 11.
Solution idéale pour récupérer un lecteur optique sur une tour dépourvue d'emplacement 5.25.
Mon seul regret, c'est de ne pas l'avoir acheté plus tôt car j'avais essayé des solutions alternatives qui fonctionnaient uniquement pour les disques durs.

Belle qualité de fabrication mais attention pas compatible avec les graveurs récents pioneer. Le graveur est trop long et les trous de vis ne correspondent pas
Donc impossible de visser le graveur au boîtier

Pas franchement donné mais au top comparativement à des modèles moins chers mais franchement "cheap".
Tout en alu brossé, montage facile, un peu lourd mais solide. Inspire franchement confiance. Muni de gros pied en caoutchouc pour assurer sa stabilité. L'alu permet une bonne dissipation de la chaleur. Très bien insonorisé. AU top vraiment ! Le seul bémol c'est donc le prix un peu élevé. Mais bon, faut savoir ce qu'on veut !

Très bon produit ! Protège parfaitement mon lecteur BR LG WH16NS40 ! Très bonne qualité !

Attention souvent trop petit pour un graveur Bluray !

Acheté pour un lecteur Bluray Pioneer BDR-208EBK mais le boitier est trop court de 5mm, c'est bien dommage, car le produit est bien fini et fait sérieux... donc faites bien attention à la longueur de votre lecteur avant d'acheter.

Belle construction, sobre et efficace. Livraison rapide et en bon état. Mériterait 5 étoiles, mais...

une première étoile en moins car, contrairement à ce que peut laisser penser le descriptif ("CD Burn Vitesse jusqu'à 40X "; "Connexion de câbles, logiciel de sauvegarde Prosoft Backup et Sound Label inclus. "), il n'y a ni lecteur, ni logiciel. Le boîtier est vide.

Une deuxième étoile en moins car le câble d'alimentation fourni est au standard anglais, donc inutilisable en France et il faut acheter un câble du type bipolaire ("Waytex - 51130 - Cordon d'alimentation bipolaire") en plus.

Je déconseille ce boitier, j'ai installé un graveur pioneer il y a 4 mois dedans, utilisation peu fréquente.
L'alim ne donne plus assez de puissance pour que le lecteur puisse fonctionner, du coup la DEL s'allume mais le lecteur ne fonctionne pas.
Ces boitiers ont malheureusement toujours tendance à griller à la moindre surtension, les cartes à l'intérieur sont mal protégés...
Et pas beaucoup d'alternatives à part le ICY BOX.

Excellent produit. A la réception j'ai reçu une alimentation au format UK. J'ai contacté le revendeur dans la foulé et celui-ci il m'a fait parvenir gratuitement un adaptateur UK/EU. Je peux donc utiliser l'alimentation fournie d'origine. Un grand merci !

Good enclosure but it's not stainless steel and essentials missing

The enclosure for my Blu-ray drive does exactly what it says on the tin (aluminium).

The title of the item and description says that it is stainless steel which it isn't and if you look at the photo of the packaging you will see that it says it's made from aluminium "AL" (see the highlighted blue box).

Also, if you look in the second photo which is of the package contents, you can see the drive enclosure, a power cable and a transformer to power the unit. However. as you can see the transformer is of the type that you slide on the appropriate connector for your location. As I'm in the UK I expected it to come with a 3 pin plug to slide onto it. Unfortunately it didn't.

Neither does the power cable with the 3 pin plug attached (shown) that was supplied, have a female socket in the transformer to go into as the transformer is a solid box and doesn't allow for the other end of the cable to be inserted. So I was left with the 2 pin European style plug to use instead. Use of a shaving plug adapter sorted the problem, which fortunately I already had, but still not particularly good.

The supplied USB3 cable however, is really quite short and makes for difficult positioning if you have to place it further away from your computer.

Apart from these few problems the enclosure works well. Had I bee supplied with all the proper parts this review would have been a solid 4 stars, but because of the issues above it's a 3.

Shiny, Solid and Substantial

There's no mistaking this enclosure - it's shiny metal, though I'm sure it feels like aluminium, not the stainless steel in the description, feels well finished and very substantial - this isn't going to bend or deform if dropped. Having said that, the front plate arrived slightly bent, something others have commented on - resist the urge to straighten it as it will straighten when you asssemble the unit with a drive in it.
Talking of drive, I put a Lite-On drive in the unit which was easy - connect the SATA and power connectors at the rear and position the drive so that the screw holes align, then put the 8 supplied screws in. Putting in all 8 helps prevent the frame from distorting and generating noise when the drive is active. Also, don't overtighten the screws or the grommets won't absorb vibrations and you'll hear (and feel) the result of your overtightening - just tighted enough to slightly deform the grommets. Slip the two parts together and screw together - if the front panel didn't straighten itself when you screwed the drive in bend to shape now with finger power (if you do it earlier you'll probably bend too much and end up having to remove your original bending).
Attach the power supply, plug inot a USB3 socket and you're good to go - you'll have a smart looking unit that feels and looks like it'll last for years. It'll last much longer than the drive you put in it and as replacing the drive is easy it'll last as long as you need it for - it's unlikely you'll need to buy a replacement ever. I'm sure it can be spray painted if you feel like a change of colour/finish (but take the drive out and cover the SATA-USB board and sockets first).

Highish price, but high quality - therefore good value.

Decent enough case, but has limited physical drive compatibility

The enclosure is sturdy and largely well made, though some case edges are sharp. Looks-wise it lacks a bit of finesse (i.e. not Mac-level finish), but it is still the best looking full size optical drive enclosure I've found. There is no fan on the enclosure, which makes it quieter than Lindy's offering. The USB interface and the Pioneer drive in it was immediately picked up under Windows 10, which was a good sign.

However, the enclosure has compatibility issues with longer DVD drives, like those from Pioneer, meaning I had to use sticky tabs to install my Pioneer drive in it, rather than screws. This seems a big oversight as Pioneer is one of the major DVD/Blu-ray drive manufactures.

This is a shame as the case itself is big enough to house it, it's just the dimensions of the interface board that prevent it. If the interface board circuit was redesigned to be wider and shorter, then nearly all drives would fit. Likewise, if a second mounting position was added, then Pioneer drives would be able to be mounted, albeit sticking out a 2-3mm from the front without the need for them to redesign the circuit board.

Although it is a niche product, it feels a bit overpriced, especially given that it costs more than twice the price of most consumer DVD drives.

These days external usb i/F cases for half height drives are as cheap as chips, but finding a case for a full height 3.5 inch optical drive is getting progressively more difficult. I like a solid box, weighty enough noy
t to be easily knocked off its perch, and robust enough to last a few years. Optical drives are no longer fashionable, but I will need one to rip my cds and install software for a while yet. I put a Plextor DVDRW drive into the case. It was easy and intuitive to do. I confirm that purchasers will NOT need to "straighten out" the drive casing to go over the top of the installed optical drive - when the optical drive is slotted in and the supplied screws and pedestal feet are screwed in the "benT" strip is automatically straightened out. I only had one slight problrm in that one of the screwholes on the base of the optical drive was a fraction out from its pedestal screw hole. I'm not sure if this was the case or the Plextor drive's fault. Just loosening the other pedestal screws a little and applying a bit of pressure let me get the fixing screws into all the holes, and I could then tighten them up. If you are only going to buy a DVDRW optical drive for £10 - £20, you could just get a USB/SATA interface and power supply for about £20. It would do the same job but a bare drive wouldn't look as nice or be as robust..

Good looking sturdy product easy to assemble and use

Very well packaged! Came in a box so big I thought the order was wrong until I opened it. Protected in a sturdy cardboard box with the caddy sitting between two thick polystyrene blocks. The additional items were also protected in a second box. Everything was present and correct, even the UK three square pin power adapter. In fact for some reason I received two? Instructions via the pdf were clear and easy to follow. You just need a Phillips screwdriver to assemble. So easy even a PC novice like me could do it. Literally was plug-n'-play. Very pleased with product. A bit pricey but you do get what you pay for. I now have a DVD RW from my old PC (being dumped) to supplement my new laptop.
