5.0 étoiles sur 5 "My" standard review 20 juin 2013
Par Kindle Customer - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
The relative story of "me" will preface this review by stating first, that I have read Nisargadatta,Ramana Maharshi, Krishnamurti,Wei Wu Wei,etc...All the spiritual "great" standards.Second, this is a review of a book about a subject that words cannot explain. That being said if "you" are looking for a clear and concise book on radical nonduality this is on "my" must-read list.

Do "yourself" a favor, if you don't just "choose" to "wake up" on "your own". Read the following:

1)All books by Jeff Foster
2)All books by Joan Tollifson
3)Awakening to the Dream-Leo Hartong
4)The Book of Undoing-Fred Davis
5)Oneness-John Greven
6)Radically Condensed Instructions for being Just as you Are-J.Matthews
7)Love's Quiet Revolution-Scott Kiloby
8)Living Nonduality-Robert Wolfe
9)Clarity-Nathan Gill

Others have been read,(Parsons,Spira, Adamson, Balsekar, Liquorman, etc..)but the above listed are "who" resonated with the story of "me". Enjoy!

I highly recommend this book for those paradoxically seeking the end of seeking. What stunned me most about this book was not the clarity and directness of the pointers, which are unmistakable, but rather the humility that wrote it.

This book is never preachy. There is never the sense that it is "telling" you anything, for example, that you have no choice, or that it's all One, or that you are not a separate self. There is no fundamentalism in this book. It invites you to have a look for yourself.

John never gets lost in the dogma of nonduality, trying to convince everyone that he is nonexistent or that he is not a teacher. He doesn't have to say those things. His absence is felt in the words and the space in which they appear. In his absence is love and humility. I judge good nondual teachings these days, not just by the clarity of the language, but more by the humility of the author. Humility and love are naturally left when the separate self sense is seen through.

Probably the most beautiful thing about this book, to me, is the way it deconstructs its own teaching. It invites you to see that your concepts are false, but it doesn't just replace those with new concepts. So "Oneness" and "awareness" do not feel like new ideas to buy into. When a teaching deconstructs even its own words, like this, it leaves you with nothing. That nothing is appearing as everything. Love is meeting itself everywhere. Thanks John!

This little book speaks to those whose interest in spirituality is based on an intellectual curiosity that has never been quenched. It may also be quite useful to other seekers who have never stopped to look behind assumptions that are rarely questioned. Written in an informal, non-technical style, it nontheless achieves an invaluable task: to provide the reader with a series of simple questions to ponder demonstrating the illusory nature of personal identity and ego based thought, the primacy of presence/ awareness, and the fallacy of 'progress' on a spiritual path (Who is making this 'progress'?) If you have tried with difficulty to comprehend such classics of Advaita phlosophy as Nisargadatta's "I Am That" or Ramesh Balsekar's translation and commentary "A Duet of One:The Ashtavakra Gita" , "Oneness" can be the key to a breakthrough. It can be read, if not absorbed, in a single sitting.

Simple and clear as can be, with not one wasted word to cloud its message. This book could end your search.

As organizer of the Santa Monica Eckhart Tolle meetup, as well as currently working on my own spiritual book called, "Enlightenment on Demand," I consider it my job to read, listen to, and watch everything I can get my hands on on enlightenment and non-duality.

Up until now, Gary Crowley's "From Here to Here" had been the best book I've come across that logically dismantles the illusion of a separate self. However, he now has competition! This short 89 page book by John Greven (who I had never heard of before finding it here on Amazon) is simply brilliant. Like Gary's book, John logically and systematically helps you see the truth of who you really are. Both authors are like surgeons who carefully cut away all that is not you. What you are left with is... :).

Here is a quote from the book:

"If there is something that is aware of the body, than that something must not be the body. Isn't it clear that the body appears to something? That the thoughts of the body appear to somethng? The body is objective to what you truly are!"

If you are a huge Eckhart fan as many of us are, I think you will find that after reading this book, Tolle's insights will be even more meaningful to you as they will resonant even more deeply. Atleast that was the case with this being!

Love and Serenity,
