Description du produit
Présentation de l'éditeur
Origami Sculptures brings stunning detail and realism to paper folding. John Montroll, a world renowned master of origami, teaches you how to fold beautiful masterpieces, each from a single square sheet of paper. Birds, dogs, mammals, and insects are shown, and a number of the models include the Dog Base and Insect Base, from which a variety of creatures can be folded. Several of the models are folded using innovative techniques to bring out the subject’s three-dimensional characteristics. There are 22 fun-to-fold projects including a Panda Bear, a Camel, a Scottish Terrier, a Walrus folded from a dollar bill instead of the usual square, and of course, an Elephant. This third edition also includes a Giraffe. Each project is accompanied with notes and photos of the animal being represented. --Ce texte fait référence à l'édition Broché.
Biographie de l'auteur
ohn Montroll is respected for his work in Origami throughout the world. His published work has significantly increased the global repertoire of original designs in Origami. John is also acknowledged for techniques such as the double-rabbit ear fold and for ground-breaking bases like the Dog Base and the Insect Base. The American Origami master is known for being the inspiration behind the single-square, no cuts, no glue approach in Origami. John started folding in elementary school. He quickly progressed from folding models from books to creating his own designs. Since his first published book, Origami for the Enthusiast, John has written many more books. Each model that John designs has a meticulously developed folding sequence. John's long-standing experience allows him to accomplish a model in lesser number of steps rather than plenty. It is his constant endeavor to give the reader a pleasing folding experience. --Ce texte fait référence à l'édition Broché.

The service was fantastic! A+ on delivery! Book was in fantastic shape...Looks brand new even though it wasn't advertised as such...Paid for regular delivery and received it in three days! The book is very good but some of the directions are a little vague and take some time to figure out...I am a beginner and am still able to work out those directions that may be for a more advanced folder...One direction I have found was just wrong...at least I think it is..but was close enough that with time I was able to look at the next drawing and figure out what I Needed to do. Overall well worth the money for the book ...but again..the service on delivery was amazing and would defintely buy from this seller anytime!

The FINEST book of Montroll!!
le 11 novembre 1998 - Publié sur Amazon.com
In this book Montroll not only makes some of the best animal models so far but also creates systems of folding 4-leg animals and 6-leg insects. The folding steps in each model are very natural, with great logic and wits. Montroll is so scintillating in these designs that he creates 2 outstanding origami bases, Montroll's Dog base and Montroll's Insect base. In application of these 2 bases many vivid animals (REALLY VIVID!) are folded and exhibited. Other animals are well-designed too, including a cock, a penguin from the front side, etc. In my opinion, this is the finest among Montroll's origami books.

Best book by Montroll
le 5 janvier 2001 - Publié sur Amazon.com
If you like John's origami books, this one is a must! I would rate it as my favorite of all of his, and that's saying a lot. In addition to the models mentioned by others, this book has the two bases in it, which I found particularly fun to play with on my own. I used the dog base to fold my own versions of about a dozen different dog breeds. I'm sure any experienced folder could come up with others!

This, in my opinion, is Montroll's best book out there. The small details of the models are superb, especially the panda bear and the camel. Most of the animals stand up by themselves and make great displays.
