5,0 sur 5 étoilesNot normally a tower defense fan but this is a good one

I'm not a fan of most of the tower defense games but I really like this game for some reason. It is less structured and doesn't force the enemies to move on any particular path, and it really keeps you busy to stay on top of things as the waves of enemies try to ruin your whole day.
With regard to in app purchases, I was able to complete the campaign without spending real money. I enjoy the mining side game (unlocked around level 8 of the campaign) which you use to earn credits for store upgrades. Some of the upgrades are passive abilities, some enable you to buy new types of weapons with crystals mined on each level. I could earn a lot more store credits from the mining game as opposed to survival mode. I found it challenging to scrape by with few upgrades until I could earn a lot more in mining mode.
With regard to upgrades, I like power generation for the station because all your defenses stop firing if the station can't produce enough power and depletes its batteries. Once you can build quickly enough to have a sprawling defense you'll need some of these. Some levels in building speed and component durability may also be useful. Fighters are weak in small numbers but extremely dangerous in large numbers and can overwhelm laser turrets, so the missile launcher (350 credits) is effective against them.
The interceptor laser is a good deal for 150 credits. The rail cannon deals major damage to big baddies but costs 500. I got the proton torpedo for 2000 (impressive but not a priority) but you'd better build a lot of power plants to keep that thing firing. I didn't find the EMP upgrades to be effective with my playing style.
Anyway, i think this game is quite enjoyable and I recommend it.

These 1-star-tards are annoying. I scored this gem as the FAotD and I solidly give this game 5 stars.
I've banked maybe 4 or 5 play hours now and it is quite addicting and adequately challenging/frustrating. The in-game purchase people are complaining about is an option to fully deck out your ship for 99 cents, which I don't recommend doing. It's the kind of thing that would break the game experience and take all the fun out of it. Working for your upgrades forces you to strategize and plan ahead. When I unlocked the "mining" mode, I was able to last 20-30 minutes on my first time and mine over 50k giving me over 500 credits.
Graphics are good with a 2nd built-in mode for tablets. Nice, if you have both a phone and tablet (like me), so you don't have to buy two different versions.
Difficulties seem to have a sharp curve over time, but this adds to the enjoyment forcing a different strategy on the replay.
All in all, definitely worth a buck and a quarter.

First all, I went through several super negative reviews and I almost decided not to get this game, but I'm glad I did.
Yes, you "paid" to get the game and yes it does allow you to spend 0.99 cents to get all possible upgrades. But that's it. It's not going to charge you to train or move to the next mission. I played the game for about 2 hours yesterday and I'm already half way through the missions and I've unlocked both Survival and Mining Modes. In Mining mode you can easily make 500-600 credits in 10-15 minutes. There is only 1 weapon that's more expensive than 500 credits - the Proton Torpedo (2000):) If you play mining mode 2-3 times, you can easily purchase all weapons and you can start upgrading your buildings etc.
Here are some tips: 1) You can re-play all missions that you've passed for additional credits. It gives you less credits than the first time you played, but it's an easy way to earn credits and progress 2) I find all mining missions to be relatively easy. You don't really need to buy too many weapons, you just need to build a lot of miners to gather the required amount of resources before the big guys come for a visit. After a couple of tries I can finish mission 6 "Mine 5000 minerals" in 3-4 minutes or less. 3) Use the speed up button. Once you're all set in the mining missions you can just hit the speed up button and watch a movie or something:) lol
4,0 sur 5 étoilesNot as bad as the reviews make it seem

Okay so usually I do a little research before clicking on the free app of the day because who wants a list full of useless apps right? I almost passed on this game due to the reviews and I'm so glad that I didn't. It's a hard game - really hard - I will give it that. I made it up to level 5 or 6 without buying a single upgrade - you just have to watch what your objectives are and plan for them versus trying to shoot down everything in sight, because you're not going to be able to do so most of the time. In-app purchases are definately not required. I'm glad I read the tip someone else posted about how playing on survival hard mode is rewarding because it so is. Tons more fun too. Also farming some of the tougher campaign levels is pretty profitable as well, and again - fun. I'd recommend getting the generator as your first upgrade because I find myself dying due to lack of power most of the time. The extra turrets for the base were a lot more worth it than I expected as well.
It's a fun little diversion and it makes you work for your rewards - the difficulty curve is pretty steep, but there is a reason that endless survival opens up so quickly.
