Excellent price guide😎
le 22 octobre 2014 - Publié sur Amazon.com
Very informative! So far, every title I've looked for I've been able to find in this book. Really helped guide my collecting of older books and to reconsider new ones I wanted to buy. Some recent comics have lost value in less than a year according to this book while other issues have already accrued in value. I would not have known that without searching this price guide. In reality, the fluctuations are not uncommon but it's nice to have a price index giving price ranges by the comic book's condition. Guide also contains and explanation of comic book condition grades so I can decide which grade I think the book I want falls under. After I select a grade, I look up the issue by title, beside that issue, I look up the book's value by condition grade. If the seller has assigned their own grade, I can use this price guide to find the issue, look up the grade, then decide whether they are over or under charging for the book. Huge factor in buying decisions!! This is my only copy so I cannot compare comic price changes on the same books from year to year. Book also differentiates between editions of the same issue and gives those values I.e. Action Comics #1 has been reprinted several times. Some editions have a little value but other are worth next to nothing.

What Can you Say? It's a must have for collectors and a great learning tool for those starting the adventure of collecting

How do you even review this? It's the Bible of comic collecting. I would like to see them sass it up a little by discussing the importance of reading a comic vs. having it sealed and graded by CGC or others. I learned to read and expand my vocabulary by reading comics. Overstreet doesn't suggest you stop reading but if you are in it for the money and have a comic sealed before you read it, you are missing a world of 'oh wows" when you see the complete art and read the story. Comics try to provide a commentary on their perspective of life experiences. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it totally does not make sense. I could go on and on.....

The first quarter of the book is all adds and history, and although it is interesting, I'd rather get right to the actual price guide. Also, if they freed up that space then they could expand ON WHAT I ACTUALLY BOUGHT THIS THING FOR, THE FRIGGIN PRICE GUIDE, and maybe add a checklist.

Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #44 - A must have resource for comic book collectors
le 23 février 2015 - Publié sur Amazon.com
The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #44 is an excellent guide to values of comics as well as other tidbits of knowledge. The book includes additional information on comics such as if a comic has the "first appearance" of a particular comic book character. Other information is provided such as if the book was in a "low print run"; if it was printed in a silver embossed cover and perhaps also in a gold cover or a wrap-around cover; has information on unusual additions such as a trading card or some other unusual addition included in a comic, etc. The Guide has pictures of some of the comics covers so that you can see the cover and see if it matches a comic you may have in your collection. There are additional articles regarding lines of comics and information on artists and writers. The Guide is packed full of valuable information. It is issued once a year. We purchase a copy each year. For comic book collectors it is a marvelous resource.
