Présentation de l'éditeur
Since the Browns found Paddington on a railway platform and took him home to live with them, there has never been a dull moment at number 32 Windsor Gardens. But as he explained to them at the start, "Things happen to me: I'm that sort of a bear."
There's the day his basket on wheels mysteriously disappears when he's out shopping in the market. And the time he locks the Browns' grouchy old neighbor, Mr. Curry, out of his house on Halloween night.
However, everyone in the family, including Paddington, agrees that a surprise visit from a long-lost relative is the start of his most exciting adventure ever.
For the first time in almost thirty years, everyone's favorite bear from Darkest Peru is starring in a brand-new noveljust in time for the fiftieth anniversary of his first adventure, A Bear Called Paddington.

Another part that had me in splits was the reporter trying to do investigative journalism and interviewing Paddington over the fence. I find the contrast really strange. The man takes a talking bear at face value but fails to process things in context.
I like the way the book incorporates modern technology like aeroplanes and airmiles without the technology getting in the way. The London eye twist is masterful.
Over all, a fantastic read and one I would recommend to people of all ages.
It all started with a purchase of "A Bear Called Paddington" for fun car-listening....(wanted to take a break from the "Philadelphia Chickens" song collection - though that is also fun :) My six-year-old enjoyed "A Bear Called Paddingon" so much, I followed-up with purchasing "More About Paddington" which was an excellent continuation of the story and very much enjoyed, as well... So....I went BACK on-line and found "Paddington Here and Now"... BRILLIANT!! We just finished the last disk (there are three in this one versus the others which have two) and it left us with such a sweet, warm, lovely feeling...
Very seldom do I order something that I think is literally a "treasure" to own...but this collection of Paddington stories on CD - "A Bear Called Paddington", "More About Paddington", "Paddington Here and Now" - is truly that. Stephen Fry is a magnificent story-teller. His timing, inflection and ability to give each character their own voice bring the stories to life.
So - Very - Highly Recommended!! Enjoy!!
Paddington(who has not aged since the 1950s) continues to enchant us with his misadventures and natural comedic situations. The familiar characters are there and the bear handles new challenges with his usual ease, charm, marmalade sandwiches and hard stare. Paddington Here and Now is a must for all Paddington fans and no matter what your age, you will relish this latest episode. Paddington Bear has a permanent place in my library, alongside James Boswell, Samuel Pepys, and Wind in the Willows. Quite simply, Paddington is the most excellent company.
