Présentation de l'éditeur

From the bestselling author of Pets in a Pickle. Vet Paul Mitchell returns in this second instalment, Pets on Parade, to recount more hilarious goings-on from Prospect House. The main characters old and new include the elderly receptionist, Beryl Wagstaff, senior partners, Crystal and Eric Sharpe, the senior nurse, Mandy Fox and the junior nurse, Lucy Gentle. The eccentric tales including Mr Grimaldi, a magician whose rabbit is too sick for his show and Madam Mountjoy, a white witch whose black cat, Antac, Paul has to attend to at her 'Wiccan Shoppe' in Westcott. Paul finds himself in some sticky situations outside Prospect House. Forget undulating paddocks teeming with giraffe, zebra and wildebeests, there are pens and paddocks awash with mud, in which there are two gazelles, a camel, some monkeys and an ostrich. Followed by an aviary of budgerigars, some cockatiels and a pen overstocked with guinea pigs! This enchanting and delightful story will have you laughing from start. In the tradition of the James Herriot books, Pets on Parade is a humorous account of life as a young vet detailing the highs and lows of working with animals and their eccentric owners. Drawing on his own experiences as a vet, author Malcolm Welshman has achieved a true insight into country life and the rollercoaster that is veterinary practice.

Format: Broché
A novel for lovers of animals and stories alike. It begins with a little bit of cheeky humour to draw you in before plunging you into the stories that seem almost unbelievable. While some of the situations seem outrageous, (a cat that the owner believes is the reincarnation of an Egyptian pharaoh springs to mind) it is told the same way a friend will tell you about a crazy thing that happened at work.
Pets on Parade may be the second book in the series, but it doesn't feel that way. Recurring characters are talked about and their nuances are discussed in a way that does not distract from the plot. Anyone new to the series will have no problem diving straight into this one.
The protagonist is a likable character who embodies the rookies of any career. While other characters will praise him and let owners know that he is capable, he is no by any means perfect.
Pets on Parade is a great way to brighten up a dull day and is good for a casual read. I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys a good story.

Similar vein to his first book, continuing to the end of his first year in practice. Light hearted, sympathetic, tear jerking in places but also some great belly laugh moments.
