HASH(0x9311209c) étoiles sur 5 FINALLY ON CD 16 octobre 2004

The collaboration of Philip Oakey of The Human League and producer Giorgio Moroder is the slicker side of technopop. Moroder gives Oakey a smoother, more dance-oriented sound, and it is a bit different than the HL albums. The first part is a segue-mix of 4 songs [plus an intro] that all share the same beat. If you have heard 'Goodbye Bad Times' you pretty much know what the rest of the album sounds like. The classic 'Electric Dreams' is really the best song on the album. The other songs are a bit 'words over dance beat' compositions, but still good. It is one of my favorite albums, and really the best album work of Oakey other than 'Dare' with HL. Since it is on CD now, with the 12 inch remixes, by all means but it now, before it goes away!

This album is really nice. Every song is worth while listening. Actually to be honest; I bought it for 'Electric Dreams' because of the 12 inch mixes that are bonus here. The original album is just over 30 minutes, so the bonus tracks bring this re-release for over 60 minutes. The remastering is the second reason why I want it. Mine is not copy controlled! ;-) Pretty hard searching ...

Gold Legion, despite their many setbacks do promise a very good product. All their cds are immaculately remastered and feature extensive booklets with many rare and unreleased pics. So what does this 1985 collaboration offer again ? Well for starters the sound quality here is really good (much better than the 2003 Version). Although the previous version did offer a better selection of bonus tracks, the bonus material here are just the 12" mixes of the respective singles. On the positive note we now have the complete In Transit/Goodbye Bad Times(12") where as the 2003 featured the standard 12" Edit. The booklet has a history of Mr. Moroder and his work as well as a thorough essay on the making of the album and various video pics (slightly fuzzy). I came almost close to giving this cd a 5 star review... Why not ?? Because the Together In Electric Dreams (Extended Version) is clearly a vinyl source. Other than that this is worth buying !

HASH(0x9310fedc) étoiles sur 5 A Great Remastering 13 septembre 2003

Wow. This album isn't as good as Philip Oakey's work as front man for The Human League, but this release blows the original's release away. The cover art is totally redone (beautiful). The songs are louder & clearer with some really great remixes added. The only real dud song on this one is "Be My Lover Now", which was a single, but always seemed VERY cheesy to me (even for The Human League).
