I originally had purchased the sonicare replacement brush heads, but I felt they were pretty pricey, so I purchased some Wal-Mart special replacement heads. Worst idea EVER. The wal-mart special replacements are loud, not even close to the same quality, and I'm pretty sure I would get the same clean from just using it manually. I am not even ready to replace my wal-mart heads, and have already bought these, which compared to local prices, is much gentler on the wallet!
Conclusion: Buy the real thing, spend the money on the sonicare heads, unless you want to hate your brush. It's not worth the savings, from Wal-mart or wherever, because you'll just be here, buying the real thing.
In a span on just a month and a half, both brush-heads were rendered unusable. I had always used to just buy them at the store and never had this problem before until I decided to get just this one from amazon from this seller. I'll blame this on my naivete. Now I know better. I have returned to just buying them again from the store and have not had this problem since. The black coating is still as glossy as was when it came out of the package, and the pressure of the brush-head bristle is still going strong even after two weeks of regular uses.
I've just realized, that all the brush-heads I have bought and gone through up till now, directly from the store (different one at that too), never have this issues on any of them. I can positively assumed now that I had been sold a fake product. It's too late now for regrets, but I don't regret it because it taught me a very new important lesson about Amazon marketplace. While there's some honest sellers, there's also those that aren't.
Being a cheap SOB, I love my Sonicare but hate the cost of replacing the heads every 3 months or even 6 months, so I thought I would try the generics that you can now find. BIG MISTAKE.
Generics don;'t seem to screw on as easily, are REALLY loud when the toothbrush is in use, and have bristles that feels like they could cut diamonds. So back to the original. It is quiet, soft and dependable. Some things are worth paying more for, and these are now on Subscribe and Save.
We were wrong.
Committing to a store brand refill for our Sonicare proved to be the worst mistake of our tooth brushing lives. We went as far as we could go. Enduring the loud painful cries from the metal hitting the internal chamber of our brush. The over-sized head that rapidly moved across our gum line, making them raw.....we came back. The road was long, and hard, but we returned. We bought the Name Brand Refill. and it worked.
it worked well.......
Either Philips shipped some bad quality replacement heads, or the ones I received were counterfeit. I am about to order again from a different vendor and hope that I get high-quality replacement heads this time.
(I rotate between several heads, cleaning them in turn so that the one I stick in my mouth is clean and dry every day).
Again I must say that rotating between the four (4) that I own, original and these three, these three have gone bad and the original is still performing well.
I agree with the other customers here who complained that these don't work as well as the original and are too noisy.
