Leda Pandora, the Angel of Chaos, isn’t like other angels. She fights dirty, in ways totally unbecoming of a soldier in the Legion of Angels. She cracks jokes at the other angels, even when she should really keep her mouth shut. And she stubbornly insists on doing the right thing, even if it’s totally against the rules.
Leda’s chaotic ways have helped her win many battles, but she’s going to need more than a healthy dose of chaos this time. Powerful forces have their eyes trained on her unborn child, a magical miracle who might just become the most powerful weapon ever conceived.
To secure her daughter’s future, Leda will need to unravel schemes and unlock secrets buried deep in the past. Because ignorance is not bliss when deities play the game.
Phoenix’s Refrain is the tenth book in the Legion of Angels series.

À propos de l'auteur

Ella Summers has been writing stories for as long as she could read; she's been coming up with tall tales even longer than that. One of her early year masterpieces was a story about a pigtailed princess and her dragon sidekick. Nowadays, she still writes fantasy. She likes books with lots of action, adventure, and romance. When she is not busy writing or spending time with her two young children, she makes the world safe by fighting robots.
Ella is the USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and International Bestselling Author of the paranormal and fantasy series Legion of Angels, Dragon Born, and Sorcery & Science.

Sorry for the negative review. I waited over a year for this next installment.
Cons
1. I either matured alot in that year or this book is too childish or immature for me.
2.i understand that she is an angel of Choas however, the dialogue between her and other characters are that if a 10 year old. Shows no emotional depth or growth from book one. You can have chaotic people that doesn't have a mind of a child. It's very frustrating and off putting. Makes me feel that I'm reading a children's book.
3. There was too much repetition of the same discussion / argument that lasted for pages. They kept talking about what the guardian want or their motives for the entire book. Remember how I discussed about growth?
4. There was no plot growth. Nothing much happened. Earlier point. They kept talking about the others plans and then kept having flashbacks that had added nothing to the story but fill pages. Except the last flashback which in my opinion should have been done sooner and moved the story on.
5. Last chapter was crap. Just gonna be honest. The whole book was talking bout the guardian and their plans. The only fight scene at the end of the book where we all thought we were gonna get action....
I'm still waiting. The author must have ran out of steam or was too scared to put pen to paper
PROS
I can't write all negative points. There were a few good points as well even though they were few and far between.
1. I liked the flirting between Pandora and Nero
2. Loved the history of her parents and we got to see mainly her mothers story.
Areas for development.
1. More character growth is Pandora 24 years old make her more mature instead of childlike. She can be chaos without seeming like a person with less intelligence.
2. Show more plot, more pace of the story. Write more engaging fight scenes.
Will I read the next book? Maybe. But I think the author is drawing the story out at this point.
Either finish the series or just move along with the plot at an acceptable speed.
A whole year to have basically flashbacks and 1/3 of a fight at the end.

overall it felt very rushed and lacked that her natural laid back flow of a good book with its intense edge of your seat moments that i feel that the author does so well normally, it's so strange. i would have loved to see more of Leda's everyday life and struggles and adapting to being incharge of the plain of monsters. it felt like things got solved too neatly towards the end of the book. like all of a sudden everything SPOILER.... was fixed, the monsters were gone all the battles were won sort of thing, like an end to this story ark to seemingly start a new one without going through the motions of the battle of how i thought it would be done. oh well, i would still buy the next one whenever it's out, im too invested now :D
