4.0 étoiles sur 5 Not for Dummies, but a good manual 12 décembre 2008

Unlike other Dummies books I have (Windows XP and Vista for Dummies), this is more like the manual that should have come with Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. It's not for people that have never used a photographic program before. It assumes you have some knowledge of digital enhancements. That being said, it's a very good manual and it's in color. It's a good desk reference. It's not meant to be read from cover to cover. After reading the first few chapters, you can use as a reference to get you over the hurtles you don't understand, give you some common sense tips, enlighten you on some things you probably didn't know, and give you some helpful short-cuts. All-in-all, a very useful manual to have, and the DVD is great to get you started even before you start and reading. Two thumbs up from me.
5.0 étoiles sur 5 Good overview of (somewhat out-dated) software package 15 septembre 2015

FINALLY - I can learn how to use a software package I have had for years but only stumbled through the minimum number of features. Admittedly, this is a high-level approach to the software and does not go into details in some of the places I'd like to see. But then it is designed to be a simplified summary (e.g., for Dummies) and not the full-blown details of a user manual or reference text.
4.0 étoiles sur 5 Very informative, but a little technical 10 novembre 2009

I like the book but I'm having to read it carefully because it is very technical for someone who is new at this. I used to use HP Photosmart (very simple) and then bought PE7. However, I am learning quite a bit. I think it's a great reference tool. The illustrations are great too. I started with tuitorials, but once you close them out, you can't remember what to do! I can have the book open AT THE SAME TIME I am using my Photoshop to keep me on track. I also like learning the technical stuff on color, saving different types of files and what their best uses are, etc...I always wondered about all that. But you could skip over it if it disinterests you...and get to the editing part. The book even tells you that you can skip around to your favorite parts. I am happy with my purchase. This is my first "dummies" book.
4.0 étoiles sur 5 photoshop 7 hits the right marks 6 avril 2010

I have read this book a couple times now and it does give a background to understanding what the program's many buttons, commands and tools can do. I would have liked a bit more examples but any program, especialy a graphics one, is a 'hands on; project. It also gives a clear review on what layers are, how to use them and encourages you to experiment. One thing I thought was missing was color pictures so you could see an effect <picture of a filter on a photo, before and after kind of idea. Another good feature would have been some included projects so you follow what book says and see what a tool or layer does. All in all, it joins the other Dummies books I have and is sure to be used quite a lot.
5.0 étoiles sur 5 Elements made easy . . . . . 17 janvier 2010

This volume covers the most used steps in using Elements version 7.0 very well. I've been an Elements user since its inception. Not at a very high level, just to a degree necessary for good image production for personal use.

As Elements takes on more of the matel of a full photoshop application, A good practical instruction book was needed and this book for dummies has filled the bill to a tee.

It provides good clear and complete instruction of all of the features within Elements. I've been slowly learning things that I never knew where there. Most will never be used; but should I need to investigate them the answers can be found within.
