The cord is actually right about 42 inches long. 3 1/2 feet. Should be fine for most people, but could be an issue for some, and it would be nice if they would update the description.
Other than the cord length, it is a very nice cord. The reason that I got it is that I had a failure on a previous cord, and have been using a Turtle Beach cord...however the TB cord feels like the adapter is slightly too wide for the 2.5mm jack on the Astro a50's. I felt like I was going to break something every time I had to pull it out. This adapter fits like a gem.
Another comment I wanted to make is that I LOVE the 45° jack for the controller. I always preferred straight jacks to the sharp right angle that most have...but this is absolutely the best of both worlds. Great decision.
I'll update if I have any issues with the cord, but so far so good. I'm very happy with the purchase but will not give 5 stars due to the discrepancies in length in the description vs the actual product.
I really liked the 45degree jack
It was a comfortable length
I had no feedback issues
I'm the type to take exceptional care of my gaming accessories. I never left the Astros laying around, always put them on the mount they came with. I never left this cord attached to either the headset or the controller when not in use, always put it away in a box with a couple other cables.
Two weeks after I bought this, there was a short in the cable. For those who don't know, a short will sound like little blips as you bend the cable or twist the aux inputs. This isn't so bad for single player at first, after a while though it'll inevitably get worse as the cable frays more. However for some reason this created an awful echo for others in any multi-player party I joined. I'm not quite sure how they're related, because I play with my TV on mute, and my headset volume around medium, and I'm talking like echoing 8x or more. It was the cable though, because I could switch to another 2.5male to 2.5male cable with a 2.5female to 3.5male adapter and the echo was gone. This setup is bulky though, and not ideal.
Tldr: I wanted to love this product, and did for the two weeks it worked. Then the awful echoing forced me to look for other solutions.
I was using an adapter to connect a 2.5mm cable (both ends) to a 3.5mm cable (both ends), and apparently the Xbox doesn't like that.
Bought this, connectes the headset directly to the controller, and now works perfectly. If you're beating your head against the wall trying to get your XB1 to work with A50s and are tired of trying different adapters, get this cable!
