Présenté par certains comme l'un des albums phares de la NWOBHM, ce disque de TANK a, je trouve, assez mal vieilli. Il y a quelques titres costauds mais aussi d'autres plus dispensables. A tout prendre, je préfère le précédent opus.

How can you go wrong with tracks like 'Crazy Horses', 'Set Your Back on Fire', and 'Pure Hatred'? Raw and heavy as hell!!! I highly recommend this album!!
5.0 étoiles sur 5 ONE OF TANKS BEST RECORDS FROM 1982 17 octobre 2014

of the 4 classic first tank records that where released between 1981 and 1984 i feel power of the hunter is very overlooked, i mean all 4 records are 5 star albums hands down, this album has some of my favorite tank tracks on here like walking barefoot over glass, some came running, crazy horses, and the rest of the album just smokes, i was lucky enough as an american to see tank live at lamours in brooklyn back in the spring of 1985 when tank came over to support the honor and blood record, sadly they did not play anything from this album except the crazy horses single but it was just one of those shows i will never forget, there was only around 150 of us there and wow what a 2 hour set that was, regardless this was released in 1982 the same year i got into tank, this was the second tank record for me to own so maybe that is why its special to me, tank where one of the only bands live that had the possibility to blow motorhead away live and belive me THAT WAS NEVER EASY TO DO, i have a live show from 1981 in germany where tank opened for motorhead and depending on how good motorheads set was that night they just may have blown them away as the tank set i have on cd is just so full of classic algy ward tank and power that algy delivered, tank to this day 32 years later is still in my top 5 favorite hm bands with saxon coming in at #1, tank only played the us that one time i saw them on a quick 10 date east coast tour and never played the us before and never after, when i left lamours west that night with my ears ringing i could not wait for tank to come back but sadly that never happened, anyway for anyone who has doubts about this cd if you are a tank fan JUST BUY THE DAMN THING ALREADY as it will blow you away, filth hounds and this means war where the 2 best tank records of the 4 but this one is way up there to and regardless of what anyone says HONOR AND BLOOD is awesome to, i also liked tanks 1987 self titled lp but i could see things where changing by then, anyway power of the hunter is a metal classic!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am happy to see this stuff is on CD because my old vinyls are gone now. This is my favorite of the Tank albums. Every song slays it from start to finish. I got the original CD release of this a few years back and then I picked it up again in the remastered version.

Stand out tracks for me are Walking Barefoot Over Glass, Pure Hatred, Used Leather, Set Your Back On Fire, and Power Of The Hunter.... This is just brilliant stuff here, raw, full on, and in your face.

I like my Heavy Metal with a dose of punk riffing and attitude and this is a great example of that crossover from the 80's.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Tank still had it on their second release 13 février 2003

"Power of the hunter" is a worthy follow up to "Filth hounds of hades". On this album Tank is a bit more polished but don't be afraid - it's still raw power! The music is more traditional heavy metal and if you like The Rods, Saxon, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Samson and so on, this one will most certainly satisfy your hunger for metal.
Outstanding songs are: "Walking barefoot over glass", "Pure hatred", "Used leather" and "Crazy horses", but rest is also very enjoyable.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Four stars for the band; Two stars for the mixing 28 juin 2005

Ah, what might have been. I love Tank but this CD is a bittersweet disappointment. The songs are good and similiar to the first album but what the bleep did they do to the vocals? They are mixed too low and made to sound like the lead singer of Molly Hatchett. I can't even listen to it. I am very bummed!
