Présentation de l'éditeur

Popular FM-radio personalities Jeffery Pritchett and Andy Colvin recently invited a number of prominent Bigfoot researchers onto their wild and woolly New Orleans radio show, "The Church of Mabus," in order to get a handle on the controversial Bigfoot scene. "Praise For the Hairy Man: The Secret Life of Bigfoot" is the result of their intensive two-year examination.

Using a simple “10 Questions” interview format, the authors provide a useful snapshot of this burgeoning field of research. In these colorful discussions, Pritchett and Colvin – who have both seen strange "things" themselves – ask the difficult questions point-blank, yet delicately extract many secrets about the elusive creature from researchers like Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Sali Sheppard-Wolford, Kewaunee Lapseritis, Barton Nunnelly, Jeffery Wells, Lyle Blackburn, David Paulides, Christopher Munch, Nick Redfern, Christopher Noël, Brent Raynes, Ross Hamilton, Freeman Young, W.R. Matts, Stacy Brown, Jack Barnes, Julie Scott, and the Bigfoot Chicks.

But this book is more than just an overview. Pritchett and Colvin also deliver extended, free-form interviews with groundbreaking investigators such as Ken Gerhard, Stan Gordon, Dave Coleman, Thom Powell, Kathy Strain, Ardy Sixkiller Clarke, Thomas Hughes, and Jim Marrs, taking the reader into uncharted realms of Sasquatch high-strangeness: the Bigfoot-UFO connection; the Bigfoot-Mothman connection; the possible role of ancient aliens in the genetic history of the Yeti; the sex habits of Sasquatch; reports of Bigfoot telepathy, shapeshifting, and flight; the “pro-kill vs. no-kill” debate; the widespread Native American belief in Sasquatch; and the controversies surrounding Bigfoot DNA – whether or not the Hairy Man should be recognized as an endangered species. The result is a mind-expanding, one-of-a-kind collection of oral history that dares to go where no other Bigfoot book has gone.

This special 2016 edition of "Praise for the Hairy Man" features a dozen interesting photographs from Bigfoot history, as well as a beautiful cover image by Bigfoot experiencer Bobby Beausoleil, former member of the Manson Family.

"Opens your mind without your brain falling out..." –Jim Marrs, "The View From Marrs"

“An entertaining romp through Bigfoot land…” –Ted Torbich, "The Stench of Truth"

“Keep your head above water, if you can!” –Greg Carlwood, "The Higher Side Chats"

“An intimate look at the world's sexiest beast…” –Adam Gorightly, "Untamed Dimensions"

“Purr…” –Tessa B. Dick, "Ancient of Days"

4.0 étoiles sur 5 You won't agree with all of this but you really should read it... 10 avril 2017

I bought this book with reservations. I admit going in that some of the ideas (Bigfoot being brought here by UFO's or it being some kind of dimension hopping super-being; for instance) have never appealed to me as much as they do to some. That being said; there's a lot of that here and, as I suspected, I still don't agree with that take.
What I really appreciated about this book is that Pritchett & Colvin have assembled a wide variety of viewpoints from around the Bigfoot community and just let these people express their opinions. It's an interesting overview from some of the most respected names in today's ongoing research. Names like Nick Redfern, Bart Kunnelly, Lyle Blackburn, Jeff Meldrum, Thom Powell and many others bring their experience to the table here and, even if you disagree with a particular viewpoint, you'll be better off for them doing so.
I know I found some researchers I'm not familiar with whose work I plan to look into in greater depth because of this book. I think most open-minded readers will do the same and that's a huge plus for this book.
So, high praise for the work Pritchett & Colvin have put into compiling this book. It's a valuable addition to any Bigfoot library. Plus, added bonus, the cover art is by Bobby Beausoleil, a member of the Manson Family...just an odd thing I noticed.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A different kind of Bigfoot book 29 mars 2015

With so many books on the subject of Bigfoot it's hard to know which ones are worth picking up. I own dozens of books on this particular subject and can say many of them rehash the same information over and over again. This particular one is definitely worth picking up. It has some of the biggest names in the field throwing in their two cents on the phenomenon. Also, it gives multiple viewpoints on what Bigfoot may or may not be. I personally do not but into the metaphysical aspect but it's still really cool to hear others take on that thoery. As someone who has been in love with the subject and has read dozens of books I personally recommend checking this one out. A great read that encompasses much more than the standard book on the topic.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 I am somewhat divided on this book 14 décembre 2013

I have read all the Bigfoot books. I was intrigued to read something different. Anything with David Paulides, Freeman Young , Julie Scott, Jack Barnes, Chris Noel and Kathy Strain you'll have my undivided attention. These authors asked some real questions from these folks and got very real responses from these individuals. The problem I had was Colvin and Pritchett were constantly one upping everything that was said. When you name a book about Bigfoot don't make half of it about Mothman. Listening to their(Colvin and Pritchett) experiences got really old really quick. If they wrote a book about just their experiences I would have put it down after ten pages. I commend them though about having a book with all the major players, some unknown to those outside the Bigfoot world. I would recommend the book to those interested in something a little different on the subject of Bigfoot.

This book was a good, informative read. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about Bigfoot. I am an amateur investigator myself, and this book gave me some fresh ideas.
