Présentation de l'éditeur

This is a story of two extraordinary brothers who experienced a true miracle. The book details the devastating and heartbreaking events caused by an accident that le. a seven-year-old boy comatose from a traumatic brain injury. When medical interventions failed, the family made the difficult decision to move their child to hospice care, one week before Christmas. Faced with what appeared to be his impending death, the story takes a dramatic turn when a ten-year-old big brother’s unwavering faith that God could heal his little brother unleashed a miraculous series of events showing that nothing is impossible.
As told from a mother’s perspective, Ellen Murkison’s memoir is more than simply a telling of the events that occurred. Her own faith was strengthened through this crisis, and she shares her insights into how to turn the worst of circumstances into something positive. A story that deserves to be told—giving hope, teaching about what it takes to overcome, and showing the possibilities for the human spirit.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A mother's thanks! 4 août 2014

Ellen Murkison is an author of heart and insight. In her story, "Prayers from Fiji", she shares her journey with a beautiful honesty and in a way that brings the reader inside her thoughts and prayers. It is her insight, though, that makes this story unique. Her ability to see God in the prayers of others and to hear His answer to her own prayer, and then to act boldly on that answer, that is this story. A definite must read. As a parent of a son, who also had a traumatic brain injury and spent months in Memorial, I treasure Ellen's gift of joy-in-the moment and thank her for her gift of insight. Marilynn Sellers, Statesboro, GA.

Prayers from Fiji is a beautifully written book about a family’s tragic car accident and how their faith and the support of family and friends (from around the world) helped them survive. Many times as I was reading it, I was moved to tears both of sadness and of joy. If you don’t believe in miracles, you will.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Prayers from Fiji will ignite everyone to believe in miracles 17 août 2014

Written with purity, honesty, and fullness of a mother's love, Ellen Murkison shares an engaging account of her family's tragic accident and faith-filled journey towards recovery. Once you start reading, you will find yourself anticipating the turn of the next page to see how God continued to answer the thousands of prayers being offered for the Murkison family and their sons from around the globe. This book shares with the world the power of social media, the kindness of community, but most especially the power of simple, faithful, and heart-felt prayers. In a country blessed with the most advanced medical technology, this book depicts how Ellen and her husband turned to God for discernment, wisdom, strength, and the ultimate healing for their family. As one who "met" the Murkisons through social media right after the accident, followed their journey online and helped pray for their miracle, I was overjoyed when I learned Ellen was writing this book so others might be encouraged. If anyone is facing a seemingly hopeless and impossible situation, Prayers from Fiji will show you miracles still happen, if you will only believe!
