Présentation de l'éditeur
Big Mouth, Big Heart, Big City . . . Big Problems
Things are looking up at last for Lizzie Nichols. She has a career she loves in the field of her choice (wedding gown restoration), and the love of her life, Jean-Luc, has finally proposed. Life's become a dizzying whirl of wedding gown fittings—not necessarily her own—as Lizzie prepares for her dream wedding at her fiancé's château in the south of France.
But the dream soon becomes a nightmare when the best man—whom Lizzie might once have accidentally slept with...no, really, just slept—announces his total lack of support for the couple, a sentiment seconded by the maid of honor; Lizzie's Midwestern family can't understand why she doesn't want to have her wedding in the family backyard; her future French in-laws are trying to lure the groom back into investment banking; and Lizzie finds herself wondering if her Prince Charming really is as charming as she once believed.

If they'd at least subtly suggested that there was a past between the two or some awareness of each other even as friends, then the twist would make sense. However, this followup was clearly too scripted to force the eventual story outcome with no real background. It would have been a better story if the build up was gradual, and Lizzie/Chaz were given the chance to exist as a couple outside of the drama or complications of Luc's storyline.
But I love Ava. Ava needs her own series. And glad to see Tiffany back. She's hilarious.
The novel reduced Lizzie's innocent charm to a level of ridiculous and absurd that barely made the second half of the novel readable. They turned smart, sophisticated, and well meaning Lizzie into someone much too naive and simplistic considering she'd experienced growth from dating Andrew.
I do however, like the ending, which was sweet. And Chaz was great.
Okay, half of the book I zoomed through. I loved it. I had read big city and was super excited for this one. After Lizzy's Gran died it went downhill. Her continuing to have an affair with Chaz just didn't seem of character for her. In Big City I felt like Luke was perfectly adequate but I already knew she was gonna end up with Chaz. In Gets Hitched Luke was a complete jerk. It make no sense to me that he had to change so much. Lizzie still could've ended up with Chaz without Luke losing his morals too. Also side note Lizzy would not have eloped at the courthouse. She was obsessed with weddings and there's no way she would've backed down. So all in all it was a pitiful ending to the triology.
For reviewers mentioning how great Luke was in the first two books and how awful he was in this...remember that the books are from Lizzie's POV. She had rose colored glasses on and didn't see Luke for who he was. She was in love and ignored the signs. Upon re-reading, the signs are there.
It's a nice ending to the series.
