Revue de presse

“It is not often that one individual responds to the yearnings of a generation the way that Andrew Harvey responds to the times in which we live. His piercing intellect and enormous heart bring together an understanding of our age as well a non-violent strategy for addressing its challenges. His Institute for Sacred Activism is one of the most hopeful and powerful resources at our disposal for turning the frustration and despair of millions into a wave of positivity. Harvey’s work stands out as beacon of hope to whoever longs for a more beautiful, just, and peaceful world.”
—Marianne Williamson, author of The Age of Miracles

“Andrew Harvey is a genius and an inspired visionary who has the ability to interpret the meaning and significance of the chaos and patterns of change that are redirecting the compass of our contemporary culture. He is a spiritual, intellectual, and cultural mystic whose passion is to awaken people to a new and essential empowerment in this world: Sacred Activism. … His passion clearly reveals that his soul is on fire with a grace that comes from the Divine.”
—Caroline Myss, author of Anatomy of the Spirit and Sacred Contracts

Radical Passion is both a trip and a pilgrimage, a deep journey of stories, conversations, interviews, and reflections on and with such notable spiritual figures as the Dali Lama, Fr. Bede Griffiths, Rilke, Rumi, and Hermann Hesse. Harvey brings alive good news about how to wake up and shape up before we destroy ourselves and the planet. Filled with wisdom and joy, reality and pain, critical analysis and practical tools, this book is sure to enrich and inspire all who enter its field.”
—Matthew Fox, theologian and author of Original Blessing, The Coming of the Cosmic Christ, Christian Mystics, The Pope's War, and Hildegard of Bingen: A Saint for Our Times

HASH(0x997957ec) étoiles sur 5 Powerful, Potentially Life-changing and World-transforming 26 octobre 2012
Par Kevin W. - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
In this book, author Harvey attempts to bridge mysticism and activism. He lays out the problem. We are hurtling headlong toward apocalypse. The problems are manifold -- rampant consumerism and environmental destruction, corporate greed, and every other blight of the postmodern era. And all the old solutions no longer seem to hold promise. Political change is a dead. Established religions -- those ancient and those merely a few decades old -- seem to get lost in fundamentalism. And New-Agers seem to be looking for some kind of golden enlightenment to come out of the sky as the Mayan Calendar winds down.

Harvey doesn't put his hope in religion, science, politics, or technology. Interestingly, he also doesn't put it in the New Age movement. He is deeply skeptical of the sincerity and depth of its leaders and followers. So DIY-dropout-hippie types like Ed Carlson, I Walked to the Moon and Almost Everybody Waved: The Curiously Inspiring Adventures of a Free Spirit Who Changed Lives, might not appeal to him at all.

This book is about the transformative and revolutionary power of the Divine Feminine. However, unlike so many writers, he does not seek to own this power. He seeks to be transformed by it. And he doesn't propose an easy way. In fact, it appears that he advocates and embraces an ascetic path. We are to word hard to become living instruments of the divine.

This Divine Feminine is not Mom. It's not the ultimate source of instant gratification. And it's not a psychological talisman to ward off whatever feels uncomfortable. It is a dimension of the divine that is generally unexplored in the West. And to be loved by the divine in this way is not easy.

HASH(0x997a199c) étoiles sur 5 A good aggregation 28 décembre 2012

Andrew is very prolific and has many original books, with many of them revolving around the thesis of how important it is to integrate the sacred feminine into our planetary psyche. This book is a collection of talks, speeches and other odds and ends that reinforce this idea. It reflects his grand intelligence and depthful analysis as well as his truly profound soul. While more of a house cleaning than an original work, it still serves to educate, inspire and not so secretly show the genius of a gay soul set free..

I would recommend this to everyone who wants realistic assistance to find their inner power. It cuts through the New Age approach and gets to the heart of what our lives here on earth are about.

Herein is a Satsang, "a meeting of the wise" that arouses deep passion; and, as the title suggests, radical engagement at a critical time in history.

The Founding Father of "Sacred Activism," Andrew Harvey is one of the most powerful voices in our midst. These seven chapters are presented as aspects of sacred love in 550-plus pages of captivating revelry. If new to the brilliant heart-mind of Harvey's work (one of the greatest mystics of our time) you'll find a treasure chest of inspiring stories, conversations and authentic "wake up!" calls to sacred action. I particularly enjoyed his cutting-edge discussion of The "Golden" Shadow. Any book of Harvey's is quality; he's a poetic gem -- a writer for my Soul.

This multi-faceted journey is a must-read for serious advocates of change, individually and collectively.

HASH(0x99a03e1c) étoiles sur 5 A book for spiritual people alarmed by political and environmental chaos 1 mai 2015

Fascinating collection of stories and interviews documenting the interactions of interesting spiritual writers, thinkers and leaders with spiritual writer Andrew Harvey. The theme of the intersection of social activism and spiritual growth is emphasized, but does not dominate every page of the book.
