Présentation de l'éditeur

In her New York Times bestseller, Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds, Dr. Kelly A. Turner, founder of the Radical Remission Project, uncovers nine factors that can lead to a spontaneous remission from cancer—even after conventional medicine has failed.

While getting her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkley, Dr. Turner, a researcher, lecturer, and counselor in integrative oncology, was shocked to discover that no one was studying episodes of radical (or unexpected) remission—when people recover against all odds without the help of conventional medicine, or after conventional medicine has failed.  She was so fascinated by this kind of remission that she embarked on a ten month trip around the world, traveling to ten different countries to interview fifty holistic healers and twenty radical remission cancer survivors about their healing practices and techniques. Her research continued by interviewing over 100 Radical Remission survivors and studying over 1000 of these cases.  Her evidence presents nine common themes that she believes may help even terminal patients turn their lives around.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A very important book and a very important mission 21 mars 2014
Par Kelley Eidem, author of The Doctor Who Cures Cancer - Publié sur
Format: Relié
As the author of the book "The Doctor Who Cures Cancer," I believe "Radical Remissions is a big step forward towards creating critical mass.

Turner points out in her book that not one doctor she asked who had personally witnessed a Radical Remission had tried to publish the case as a classic case study. She also points out that there are over 1,000 reports of "spontaneous remissions" that have been reported in the medical literature, but that they weren't being pursued by researchers as to the commonalities among them. Turner has done that!

She asked the right questions, "Why did each of these people experience a spontaneous remission? What it spontaneous or was it something they did?" She found out that their remissions were due to something they did.

Turner also highlights how it is by focusing on the anomalies that new discoveries are made. Whether it be Dr. Revici's discoveries, the discovery of penicillin, etc, it is almost always in the exceptional case where the discovery is made.

The book then goes forth to expand on the 9 biggest commonalities that she uncovered so that cancer patients can try them for themselves.

Turner continues to collect more cases to help verify her findings. In her book, she calls her findings a hypothesis. She wants to see more attention devoted to her data to confirm and expand her findings.

We can be sure that the cancer industry will close ranks and not follow through on Turner's goal just as they have for the past 100 years. But the book and her continued mission is a GIGANTIC step towards greater awareness about the real ways to cure cancer.

This book gives good nutritional advice, at the beginning of the book. However throughout the book the question is asked of cancer patents, "Why do you think you got cancer ?". I think there are many lessons to be learned in the journey of battling cancer, but unfortunately science does not understand why some people get cancer and others don't. I was a bit uncomfortable to recommend this book because as I read this book, it appeared to insinuate that the cancer patient did something to get the cancer by asking them that very question. Lifestyle choices like diet choices, smoking, a sedentary lifestyle may increase your chances of getting cancer. However, in our family we learned that an active, fun loving, non smoker, health conscious vegetarian, can get a rare form of lung cancer called EGFR.
I think increasing laughter in the cancer patient's life is important as the book recommended, and the advice to family and friends about maintaining the social circle of love and friendship are important as well. The book bring hope to the cancer patient, regarding radical remissions that do occur and are something you will not hear about from your oncologist.

A review for Amazon by Jerry Woolpy of “Radical Remission—the nine key factors that can make a real difference surviving cancer against all odds,” by Kelly Turner.

Among thousands of cases of radical remission from late stage cancers the following nine factors were most frequently cited in interviews of the recovered patients: Radical change of diet, Taking control of treatment, Intuition, Herbs and supplements, Releasing suppressed emotions, Increasing positive attitudes, Social support, Spiritual connection, Strong reasons for wanting to live. Turner devotes a chapter to each of these factors. She provides details of the treatments and case histories. She found that oncologists acknowledge that these recoveries do occur, but they have not been studied. Her book is a call to action to delve into these remarkable findings. And it is an inspiration to those who find themselves in similar situations. But it is not a treatise for folk medicine or a recommendation against traditional methods. Almost all of the cases started with traditional treatments. Turner offers some hypothetical models of cancer that might explain her findings, but at this point there are no controlled studies or likely mechanisms to explain these relatively rare recoveries. One idea that I found most appealing is that not only is the mind not separate from the body, but the mind controls the body. It’s a book that questions the medical model of treating the cancer where it occurs while ignoring the life of the patient. Many of the cases reported are actually cured and have been totally free of any evidence of cancer for many years.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Inspiring true ways back to health. Worked for me! 13 mars 2017

This is the paperback version and it's fine. Mine arrived "used" meaning read as per the bends and separations of the pages. It's still fine to read (and will be my second read since I already have the audible version). Many, if not most, onchologists in larger institutions have experienced "radical remissions" ~ or the complete disappearance of cancer without any science backed explanation . Dr Turner noticed these multiple accounts weren't being reported and decided to take a closer look and focus on this as her thesis for her Phd. (At least this is the way I remember it). I read it about 4 years ago, recalling it had been a best seller when it came out but now newly diagnosed with cancer. Having read hundreds of books since that time, a few are real standouts for me. My prognosis was something like 24% survival. Now they can't find any active cancer in my body. I invented nothing. I used everything that "rang true" for me and tweaked things along the way. This book is outstanding. If you have been diagnosed with cancer, I say this is for you. There are 9 specific things ALL the patients who recovered (despite ALL odds, by the way) had these 9 things in common. If you have fear, this us good for that. If you need direction, this is good for that. If you want short stories (because you can't focus with all this stress) this us good for that. If you can't read because you can't focus...get the audio version. I joined and while I listened to books I did a crossword puzzle. Somehow I was able to get the information into my brains when I was otherwise freaking out over this. Very very good. All true. Inspiring.

As a physician, I was awestruck by this courageous scientific author's willingness to foray into an area that defies classical scientific mathematical scrutiny. These examples will be met with some derision from the medical community, fearful that it will send their patients scrambling for unconventional treatments. Yet what I agree with most is that there is no one treatment for a cancer. Multiple factors must be addressed to overcome this disorder. This book confirms what my 30 year career in oncology has taught me: that to emerge from or to resist the development of a cancerous state, it requires a mind, body, spirit approach. Bravo to the author.
