Présentation de l'éditeur

I hate him…

I hate that I fell in love with him, I hate that he didn’t love me back, and I hate the fact that I just made a life-altering decision just so I could get the hell away from him.

He’d always said that he was unchangeable, heartless, and cold…

I really should’ve believed him…

HASH(0x90200e1c) étoiles sur 5 AH-MAZING CONCLUSION TO A MOST ADDICTIVE SERIAL!!! 26 août 2014
Par Natasha is a Book Junkie - Publié sur
Format: Format Kindle

I'm giving you two weeks to come to your ****ing senses..."
"Two weeks," he whispered. "That's when you and I are going to meet face to face, and I'm going to claim every inch of you."

It doesn't happen too often that I become consumed with a story from the very first page, something in the writing style and the voice of the characters grabbing me instantaneously, but from the moment I opened the first book, I was obsessed. Normally not a great fan of serials due to my inherently impatient nature, this story crushed all my biases and made the anticipation of the rest of the series so deliciously addictive, I think the wait was half the fun. And as I now reflect on the story as a whole, I am in total awe of the skilful way it was told, peeled off layer by layer, making me realise that every deceptively random scene had a set purpose in the big picture that is the story of Andrew and Aubrey.

I know this feeling will only last for so long; it never stays. In less than a week, I'll have to find someone else.

Andrew Hamilton is a successful lawyer, a loner, a man who professes not to believe in relationships and who hides his past fiercely. The last six years of his life have revolved solely around his career and his pursuit of the next one-night-stand. He avoids building friendships and emotional attachments in his life, no woman ever making him want to change his one and only `dating' policy...

"One dinner. One night. No repeats."

But while sifting through his favourite online social network and dating sites, looking for the next `lucky' recipient of his kiss-and-run routine, he meets a woman whose smart mouth and adamant refusal to have sex with him intrigue him and keep making him come back for more. Aubrey Everhart is a young woman torn between her innate passions and her parents' expectations of her. She juggles her life trying to please everyone around her, but the more pressure is put on her to forget her childhood dreams of becoming a professional ballerina, the more her stubborn heart remains unchanged. Andrew and Aubrey's frequent interactions soon become the only thing still capable of putting a smile on Andrew's face, their email and phone exchanges taking the form of one of the sexiest games of cat and mouse I have ever come across. They tease, provoke, tempt and arouse each other, but their odd friendship stays within the confines of inconsequential personal information and more lies than truths. Everything changes when Aubrey starts working as an intern at Andrew's firm, and all their lies suddenly catch up to them.

"I believe you and I are currently in an unfortunate web of deceit."

Their physical attraction is immediate, irreversible, unstoppable, and no matter how much they both wish they could, they cannot keep their hands off each other. But their expectations remain very different--while Aubrey keeps looking for the man she befriended online, the man she believed cared for her, Andrew wastes no opportunity to make it clear to her that there could never be anything more between them than just sex. Even though he doesn't ever seem to be able to get enough of her.

"You're the only woman-- only person actually, that I talk to outside of my hours at this office, the only woman I've ever f*cked over the phone, the only woman who's been in my car, and the only woman who's lied to me and still gotten me to stay..."

But the moment Aubrey asks for more and makes him break too many of his self-imposed relationship rules, he walks away. He bolts. He shows no concern whatsoever for the woman whose heart he so recklessly breaks while denying them both what they want the most. And this is where the game ends and the story shifts from amusing to heart-wrenching in a matter of minutes. We get to watch these characters tackle the aftermath of their breakup in very different ways, forced to deal with everything that is dysfunctional in their lives while pretending they are not missing each other.

"I miss the idea of you-- of what you could've been."

I am still unsure what it is exactly about this particular story that owned me so zealously start to finish, but I suspect the phenomenal writing style has something to do with it, not to mention two of the wittiest characters I have ever had the pleasure of finding in a book. I loved the personal journeys these two people travel in this story, their go-getting personalities, their willingness to put everything on the line for what matters the most in their lives, and how much them being together or staying apart does not define them as individuals. It was refreshing, it was inspiring, and it made me fall for them even more. This series is the full package--fun, sexy, cleverly written, and it is a read you will not want to miss.

"Dear Mr. Hamilton, ****. YOU. --Aubrey

Review by MM Jaye:

Okay, seriously, this series started off as smut, so why the H am I crying? I don’t do that! These books are supposed to be about hotness and sexiness and rampant sensuality, but this installment of Reasonable Doubt is so much more! Whitney G has outdone herself here. I’ve read tons of books where the hero starts off as a complete douche and then does a 180, crawling and groveling and, yes, that works, but in Andrew’s case, you’ll end up “getting” him, feeling for him (I won’t say “lusting after him” because that’s stating the obvious) but he doesn’t turn into a wuss. He’s Andrew through and through. Smirking, brow-arching, dirty-talking Andrew. Only he’s Liam.

But what makes the difference for me is Aubrey. I’ve had enough of the “doormat”, spineless type of girl who gives everything up to a domineering male, succumbing to his every whim, then changing him through her pliability (definition: the quality of being easily bent—pun fully intended). Aubrey is different. For once, this girl is willing to settle for less in sex but more in the respect department. In someone who maybe is less hot but treats her better. And she shuns Andrew. Again. Again. And yet again. I got such immense satisfaction from Aubrey’s stance. And it’s not only Andrew in the receiving end of that attitude but her impossible parents as well. She manages to break free from every demand made on her and carves a life on her own. And then she gets all she wants and more. Seriously, the audition scene made me cry!!

As for the writing? It’s stellar! I feel that Whitney G. gave everything to this installment! Flowing descriptions, poignancy, heart-wrenching backstory on top of the amazing banter and the jaw-dropping comebacks we all came to love.

And what’s with *End of Episode #3*???? Is this not the finale?!!! Reasonable Doubt was a great ride, and if you enjoy reading this genre, I strongly recommend you join the hordes of hardcore fans.

My review will be for the series as a whole. I waited to start the series until the day before the release of book 3.

Honestly this book was just okay for me. Some parts were well written, but I think where Reasonable Doubt fell short for me was the lack of depth to Andrew and Aubrey's characters. There was definitely some charm to Andrew's cockiness and abrasiveness, but his cruelty was a bit too much for me. At the end of book 3, Andrew's dark past is finally revealed and I understood what drove Andrew's behavior. Unfortunately it came too late to undo my poor opinion of Andrew. I felt bad for the guy because he really was scarred, but it really didn't justify his vicious actions and words to those around him in my opinion. At the very beginning of the series, I liked Aubrey and she seemed to be the perfect spoil for Andrew. Along the way though, she lost her edge and turned into a doormat. At one point, I wanted to throw her a copy of "He's Just Not That Into You" and see her move on. In my mind, she humiliated herself by continuing to pursue Andrew while he treated her like garbage. Bottom line I didn't respect Aubrey and I found it hard to believe she could command it from Andrew. Aubrey finally stands up for herself, leaves Andrew and begins to move forward with her life but by then I didn't care.

The ending was a bit seemed rushed and maybe even incomplete. I didn't get a real sense of Andrew and Aubrey as a couple after everything was resolved and I missed that so maybe that's why I felt the ending incomplete. Overall, I didn't find that spark that so many of my fellow readers found in Andrew and Aubrey's story.

HASH(0x907e01a8) étoiles sur 5 Highly entertaining, deliciously sexy as sin, and incredibly intense. 2 septembre 2014

Reasonable Doubt: Volume 3 is HERE! This serial series has taken off like CRAZY! Whitney Gracia Williams was an unknown to me at the start, and now her name is on every romance reader’s newsfeed and social media! Volume 3 is the final installment of this series! I can already hear the collective BOOHOO all over the world! I’m almost 100% sure that since everyone fell in love with this serial and these great characters, I bet we haven’t heard the last of Andrew Hamilton and his dirty, DIRTY mouth!

Highly entertaining, deliciously sexy as sin, and incredibly intense, Reasonable Doubt will set your eReaders on fire! The storyline had me hooked in Volume 1 and kept me engaged through the very end. Andrew Hamilton is a hero you will love to hate, and hate to love. He is a complete a**hole at times, and can be incredibly frustrating and stubborn. The thing is, in the final installment of this series, you get to see, what I call, the REAL Andrew! You learn about Andrew’s past and the COMPLETE HELL that he went through, and you understand why he is the way he is. I was so connected with Andrew, that this revelation was very emotional for me.

This volume starts off in a VERY hostile environment. The truth has come out, and ANDREW is pissed! AUBREY is pissed because Andrew is pissed, and we jump right back on the crazy roller coaster ride that is their relationship. A few curse words are thrown, some unknown substances are placed in people’s coffee, and hate email are all the rage! It’s hilarious as hell, but at the same time, your heart aches for these two. You go into this knowing that they will eventually get their Happily Ever After, but the road to that HEA is a tough, emotional, and steamy ride.

All in all, the series tied up very nicely, and I was satisfied with the conclusion. I only hope that one day Ms. Williams will bring us more Andrew and that filthy, sexy mouth of his.

HASH(0x90578fa8) étoiles sur 5 sitting in utter wonderment... 7 février 2015

Whitney Garcia Williams gives us the final installment in the Reasonable Doubt serial, bringing every detail of her addicting series full circle.

Every question I may have had, she has not only answered but gave me more than I asked for. Every scenario I may have concocted in my head doesn't even begin to go in the direction of what actually happens. I am in awe, completely astonished and sitting in utter wonderment...and the extended epilogue ugh, absolutely beautiful! I just want to meet Whitney and give her all the hugs, coffee, man + candy the world has to offer while I force her to write me more Andrew. Sigh.

I never met a man like him and I know I never will. From the very beginning something about him spoke to me. I always felt like there was more to him. Yes, his actions at times were unbelievable BUT, I knew there were reasons WHY...this book gives you those reasons. This book shows you every. freaking. thing. underneath him. This book reveals every hidden truth, every omission, every piece of the puzzle that contributed into making Andrew.

This story also shows just how strong Aubrey is. Gosh, I really felt for her in some moments. Becoming just as invested as she was allowed me to truly FEEL every emotion of hers that was exposed. It takes a certain type of woman to deal with a scorned man and I think her character did it perfectly.

I sit here and all I can think about is how I will get more Andrew and Aubrey now that their story has ended. While I wait I am sure I will need to check into some type of rehab to keep me sane while I reread this flawlessly written serial. Maybe I can send her the best coffee and chocolates in hopes of getting a weekly blog post of their life. Heck, at this point I would even settle for a monthly blog post.

This is really a bittersweet moment for me because I wanted to get my hands on this HEA but now that I have, ugh WHAT DO I DO NOW? Freaking amazing job Whitney at boggling my mind around the true aspect of this beautiful man you have created. Until next time... F.L.Y Whit

P.S. In hopes that you read your reviews, if there is a street team out there I need in: Brie Mode on facebook, please add me ;)
