Présentation de l'éditeur

“’Tis one thing to be tempted, another thing to fall.”
~William Shakespeare, Measure for Measure.

He’s no stranger to sin…

A prolific serial killer is crucifying and ‘baptizing’ the working girls of Portland, and FBI Special Agent Luca Ramirez is locked in a desperate race to prevent the next casualty. The game changes when the latest victim is pulled out of the Willamette River alive, and Luca knows this witness may be his key to breaking the case. When the fanatical killer threatens her life a second time, Luca is assigned to protect the most unique and captivating woman he’s ever met by going undercover as her lover. He finds himself locked in a relentless game of cat and mouse with an elusive and violent psychopath, while battling his temptation for the alluring woman he’s charged to protect with his life. As the fatalities continue to mount, so does the intensity of his desire for a woman who should be forbidden, but is determined to dial up the heat.

International bestselling author Kerrigan Byrne laces dangerous, edgy content with palette-cleansing humor in this sexy, character-driven series debut that will leave you wondering… Is there such a thing as A Righteous Kill?

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Great Story, Too Much Graphic Sex 10 janvier 2016
Par J.C. Prins - Publié sur Amazon.com

I am not a prude, but, unless I am deliberately reading a book specifically for the sexual aspects, I'd rather have a great story without all the crude sex. I guess that is really the problem. Even if what I am reading has graphic sex scenes and situations, I would like them to be reasonably literary rather than attempting, but not succeeding, at being sexy pornography. I am also really tired of the whole dominant male thing, all of the unbearably huge penises, and the penis's intrusiveness into almost every personal exchange between the male and female protagonists. It gets to be so predictable and trite. A little more subtlety and nuance would be appreciated. This simply does not qualify as romance in my opinion. Another irritating thing was all of the poor editing. For example, two of the characters who had been soldiers went to "all of their buddy's funerals." How many funerals can one guy have? There were many incorrect or inappropriate word choices as well, such as when a priest "returned to his resuscitation of the last rites." I'm just betting the author meant recitation. These too frequent occurrences were frustratingly distracting, sometimes requiring several rereads of a sentence to try to determine what was meant. All that being said, the story was wonderful, which allowed me to just skim through most of the actual sex scenes and accounts for my rating of four stars. The mystery was excellent, with my main suspect pingponging among several people. The main male protagonist, Luca Ramirez, was a little troublesome, since his constant fury seemed like it should repulse the female protagonist, Hero, at least at first given her sensibilities. His emotions, at times, appeared to be one note. Nevertheless, he was still a compelling character. Hero was just great, as was Vince, Luca's partner. Hero's parents and siblings were intriguing and the other characters were deftly written. The opening chapter was inspired and oddly charming. I also really enjoyed the apt and amusing Shakespearean touches. Indeed, the story and characters were so appealing that I will likely buy the next book in the series. I can always skip the smutty sex scenes. If you either like a pornographic type of sex scene or can ignore it, this is a truly wonderful crime-suspense story.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 I have found a new author to follow 2 novembre 2013

I am new to this author and I wonder how I could have missed her previous books. This is a funny, scary mystery packed full of funky characters and hot guys. The sexual tension between Hero & Luca is enough to drive the reader crazy, the suspense level is off the charts, and the humorous exchanges between the characters will have you laughing out loud. I was hooked from the very beginning of this book. This is an awesome romantic mystery with many twists & turns. The epilogue is actually the perfect set up for the next book in this new series. I highly recommend this book; and I will be reading more of this author's work.

Whether Kerrigan Byrne is writing a highland historical romance or a contemporary romantic suspense, she knows how to create an entertaining tale. In A Righteous Kill, she's masterfully woven chilling scenes, sexy characters and funny moments into a very compelling story. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves a thrilling ride.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Can't stand the heroine 14 avril 2017

She's ok in the beginning when she's drugged up... but then she is flighty, she pervs constantly on the hero and notices nothing else about him, she's a c&$k tease - though willing to deliver - but relentlessly after him, making sexual innuendos and overtures in every situation. Now she's being stupid and infantile regarding finding the man who attacked her ... I'm only 116 pages into this but I can't wait any longer for her to change.

The writing is good i.e. Smooth, fast-paced, good amount of action and interaction... but this heroine has slaughtered any romance out of here, and then slaughtered my interest in her story.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 LOVED A Righteous Kill !!!!! 28 octobre 2013

Oh Yeah, this was a GREAT read. It is so good to read a book that is clever and intelligent, that is seriously funny and SMOKING Hot !!!! Kerrigan Byrne has set a fast pace in this book and she kept me a prisoner to my lounge until I was finished. You are going to LOVE the wit between the all the characters in this book, you are going to LOVE the tension between the leads and you are going to LOVE the suspense. The steam Luca and Hero create will fog your glasses and heat your cheeks. The suspense is a standout, I could not guess "who done it" till the end and as always with Kerrigan Byrnes books you realise two things at the end of the book, one, the difference between a good read and a GREAT read, and two, you've finished, and now you have to wait till the next of her books comes out.
