Présentation de l'éditeur

Magic. Myth. Miracles. They say there's truth in legends.

It's time to meet the real Santa Claus, so get ready for the Christmas love story of a lifetime.

Last Christmas, Erin came home to be with her dying mother. This Christmas will be a year, and Erin still can’t move on. Fortunately, everything in her life is about to change. A behemoth dog named Klaus and Reason-the-handsome-realtor enter the picture, and together they turn Erin's life upside a good way.

Reason offers to help Erin sell her mother’s house, an effort that turns into a circus of fiascos. Just when it seems her luck can't get any worse, Erin finds herself falling in love with Reason, the man of chaos himself. But he’s more than he seems, and soon Erin is immersed in the clandestine world of the Santa Society, a centuries old secret organization that protects the truth behind Christmas.

Erin’s entire sense of reality will be challenged, and she may be forced to choose between the man she loves and the future of Christmas itself.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A New Classic Christmas Story 27 octobre 2013

The first sentence of the book sounds like a killer.

After that, the story warms up and is all about a young woman who misses her mother and no longer wants to celebrate Christmas. Erin, the young woman, goes out for a half-price cup of coffee and meets a striking young man and what seems like a lost dog. She ends up letting the dog follow her home and then, the dog become hers as she buys dog food and all dog necessities.

The young man, Reason, had given Erin a realtor's card, so she signs a contract so he can sell her home.

The ups and downs, some very funny, some mystical, all happen as Erin finds herself falling in love with Reason and he, with her. Erin learns that Reason works for something called the Santa Society and that there are many related businesses... all part of a huge, world-wide business.

Is there a Santa? Are there elves? Is the Santa Society actually connected to the story of Santa Claus? Will Erin and Reason continue to fall in love?
Will the family next door be okay, after the father has lost his job and the family has to go to a soup kitchen to eat?
Is there evil or deception? Kidnapping?

All things will be revealed by the time you finish reading this book. This truly is a Christmas classic and I could see it made into a movie.
If you love Christmas and Christmas stories touched with a gift of the magic of the reason for the season, you'll love this book.

Legends might just begin in reality - real events retold until they take on a life of their own. The Santa Society takes Santa Claus/St Nick and puts not only magic back in a delightful idea but mixes it with the TRUE Gift of Christmas. Story has faith and a lot of whimsy. Erin is living her life of isolation and misery in Christmasville, Idaho - questioning whether she made the right choices in terminal care of her mother. Er's desire for a half price early cup of coffee leads her to Klaus the dog - her first real friend. She also met Reason MacCloud - oh my what a handsome cowboy. Intricate plot, twists and turns, elves and elders, tigers and reindeer - I truly enjoyed this story. Romance, reverence for the true meaning of Christmas and The Gift - with a race to make the right choices and save The Eve for a world needing Christmas so very much.
I'm pretty picky about my love stories and my religion/faith - The Santa Society does right by both!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A wonderful start to my Holiday Season! Gotta love Santa! 14 novembre 2014

I did it. I read my first Santa book before Thanksgiving. Well, seeing as how I have been known to watch The Santa Claus in the summer if I am feeling particularly down, I suppose it isn’t that surprising. And I have to say, as a huge fan of the whole Santa thing, this was a great start to my Christmas Santa Book Season!

“It is my duty to carry the Gift to the world, whatever the price.”

Erin Sinclair lives in the lap of depression, even if she does live in a town called ‘Christmasville.’ She left her home at eighteen, as many teenagers do, a victim of teenage angst and the guilt of her father’s death when she was ten. It wasn’t her fault that he was driving to pick her up from school in a snowstorm when he died in a car crash. But children never understand that they aren’t to blame when horrific things happen, do they?

Now, her mother is gone as well, and Erin missed the last decade she could have spent with her, living in New York and working as a court stenographer while her mother stayed in Christmasville.

"I turned 30 years old the day I killed my mother."

Alone, depressed, drenched in guilt for allowing her mother to die from breast cancer at home as she wished instead of forcing her into treatment, and feeling as if her life has faded away in front of her eyes, Erin is irritated when the cowboy propped up in front of the coffee shop early one morning walks away from her, apparently leaving his overgrown ‘maybe mastiff(?)’ tied to a tree in front of the shop. Klaus is huge, looks like a cross between a mastiff and a chocolate lab and watches her sadly from the coffee shop window. Well, she can’t just leave him out in the cold, right? Claiming the dog isn’t his, at least the cowboy leaves her his business card with the number for his real estate office. She is more than ready to get on with her life, whatever it will be, just as soon as she sells her mother’s house and all the memories it contains.

"Cue high, tittering elven laughter… (screech! Sound of tires coming to a sudden halt…)"

Make that cowboy laughter! Well, what do you expect when Santa lives in the mountains of Idaho?! (Insert big grin here)

The Santa Society is a wonderful Christmas story, full to the brim with hope, faith and love. But it is different than the ‘so sweet it makes your teeth rot on contact’ stories you may have read before. Similar to It’s A Wonderful Life there is human evil here – pride, vanity, hatred, and a Society developed to protect the meaning of Christmas – which may just be the downfall of everything Christmas stands for.

Erin’s mother’s last wish was that she not lose her faith in Christmas, in love, or in the reason for the season. And Reason McCloud may just help her find those things again.

He’s the Reason for the Season.

Reason, or Santa Claus to those in the know, stands for everything that is good, right and truthful in humanity. But will the corruption of those around him destroy Santa, Erin, and the true meaning of Christmas?

This book is a total and complete joy to read, filled with hope and joy, but also suspense and terror, making it more than just another Santa story – in a Very Good Way!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A Sensual, Compelling Romance That's Clean 2 janvier 2016

Things had been hard for Erin since her mother died. She is struggling with grief, guilt, and a lot of emotions she doesn't understand. When she meets a giant of a dog and a handsome realtor in front of the coffee shop, she has no ideal how much her life is about to change.

Novels written in first person are not my favorite, and the fact that this one was also in present tense made it even worse, but it grew on me. The writing is well-done. You won’t like this one if you try to tie it too closely to reality, but, if you treat it like a Christmas fantasy, it becomes magical. Staying squeaky clean and with just a few simple kisses, this is one of the most sensual and compelling romances I’ve ever read. It’s in the same line with, but even much better than, an adult version of the Polar Express.

When the hustle and bustle of holidays approach, I want something to read that puts me in the Christmas spirit. This fit the bill. With real heart, humor, and just the right amount of suspense, I found myself wanting to crank the holiday tunes, put up the lights, and make myself a cup of hot cocoa. A very fast read with a satisfying amount of twists and turns--a truly original and enjoyable take on Santa that will put a smile on your face.
