Description du produit

Présentation de l'éditeur

With over 800 of the most closely guarded photographic “tricks of the trade,” this boxed set–consisting of all four parts of Scott Kelby’s best-selling series, The Digital Photography Book–is the ultimate resource for any one who wants to shoot dramatically better-looking, sharper, more colorful, more professional-looking photos every time.

Camera technology advances quickly, and with this boxed set now including updated editions of Parts 1 and 2, readers will find refreshed tips and tricks to be current for today's photographer. The equipment Scott uses and recommends to the reader has been updated, as well as prices, links, and pictures. In Part 1, Scott has added a new chapter, addressing the top 10 things he wishes he would've been taught when he was just starting out in photography. And, there is a whole new section in Part 2 entitled "The Seven Deadly Sins of Landscape Photography," where Scott discusses the biggest traps in landscape shots-and how to avoid them in order to create breathtaking imagery.

Scott Kelby, the man who changed the “digital darkroom” forever with his groundbreaking, best-selling The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers, now tackles the most important side of digital photography–how to take professional-quality shots using the same tricks today’s top digital pros use (and it’s easier than you think). These aren’t books of theory, full of confusing jargon and detailed concepts. These are books on which button to push, which setting to use, and when to use it. Each page covers a single concept on how to make your photography better.

Every time you turn the page, you’ll learn another pro setting, tool, or trick to transform your work from snapshots into gallery prints. If you’re tired of shots that look “okay,” and if you’re tired of looking in photography magazines and thinking, “Why don’t my shots look like that?” then these are the books for you.

Interesting layout. Great chapters equipment/indoor/outdoor/portrait/travel/sports/weddings(yuk)/studio, etc. Kelby says that he wrote the book as if he were there with me or you and as if he was talking directly to us. Each page is devoted to a single item or topic. Each page in each chapter has a full-color photo of the subject of the page. Want to know how to take the shot he shows on the page? He tells you all the settings: f-stop, shutter speed, light, distance from subject, background, etc. On the cheap? He tells you from DIY to cheap to mid-cost to high-end what to get or use. Lenses? He tells you. Cameras? He describes them and lets you choose. Other equipment? It's all there. And remember that each piece of equipment or each type of shot or each idea has its own page. This is a GREAT set for ideas and recommendations. Kelby is a great photographer so you should look at his websites. He has really good videos too but you have to pay to watch them. So cheat like I do and search for them on YouTube.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Not done with it but I think Scot Kelby is a fantastic teacher. 29 juin 2014

I would recommend this series to anyone who already understands the basics of how cameras and lenses work and have at least some basic grounding on the subject of photography already. (If you don't I HIGHLY recommend reading "The Beginner's Photography Book" by DK books first).

Scott's is one of those professionals who WANT others to know and have the skills he has. That sounds weird but some "Experts" cant help but make things too complex or have secret methods that they would rather not share with others. This is not the case with Scott. You really get from his writing that he just loves photography and he enjoys others learning it. I am not done with the whole series but I have learned so much and I have been a photo enthusiast for over 15 years.

I wouldn't call it a "beginners" series, but it is certainly excellent reading and practice for your amateur photographer or enthusiast.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 If you like Kelby's bad humor 6 septembre 2014

If you like Kelby's bad humor, and I do, this set of books is a how to guide to each type of photography. I would recommend already knowing the basics of aperture, shutter speed and ISO and being familiar with your camera's controls before tackling this series. If you want to know all the basics of photography, I recommend Tony Northrup's How to Create Stunning Digital Photography in the Kindle format because it has lots of private youtube video tutorials. This is a good place to pick up where Northrup leaves off.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Love These Books 30 juillet 2014

Bought the hard copy, but found from reading the "look inside" pages on Amazon that I much prefer to sit at my computer monitor and read with my camera in hand than to hold the comparatively bland looking hard cover. So, I ended up buying both. Live and learn.

I must say, having read much of these books, I am surprised, looking back, at all the negative comments about Scott's sense of humor. I love Scott's sense of humor. Don't let the haters get you down, Kelby! To me, it's one of the top features of these great books.

But of course, and more importantly (to most people), the books provide countless examples to mimic and learn from. Well done!

I love Scott's books. He does not write in a technical way. He writes so the non professional photographer can understand how to improve and get better pics. He shows you step by step how to get them. He does not leave anything out. So if you were working your way to becoming a professional photographer his books are a great way to get there. He writes with great humor. He gives great suggestions. His books are an easy read and are extremely helpful. I bought these for some of my friends also and they love them too. We don't have any plans of becoming professional photographers but we do want great pics. We went to Italy for two weeks and I came back with better pics than I expected. Thanks Scott.
