Description du produit
Time to upgrade to a cool, modern look. This Seiko watch has a black dial set in a stainless steel case. The stainless steel band is finished with a fold over clasp. It's a great casual accessory that's versatile enough to wear every day.

Meat and Potatoes of the SRP029K1
Pros: It looks similar to the Sinn 656 PVD, utilizes lumi bright lume which is very bright and reactive, screw down crown, bracelet is of decent quality, see through case back, great power reserve!
Cons: Does not hack, has a plastic crown guard (biggest problem with this watch), the numbers are not lumed just the outer ring and hour/min hands, second hand is not lumed at the tip, date wheel is sometimes difficult to read.
The plastic crown guard was a terrible decision for Seiko on this otherwise great watch. Perhaps it was to cut down on cost or they just felt froggy at the last minute. The PVD (or ion-coating) is not a powder-like black, it is more like gunmetal gloss. In addition, the coating is not as tough as I thought it would be. During a drunken combative sparring match on tile I managed to scratch the bracelet, bezel, and glass on my relatively new watch. I understand anything will scratch, but the coating came off fairly easily.
The "new" 4R15A movement is very similar to the 7s36 found in skx007's/009's etc but with a ~50 hour power reserve. It is very robust and resistant to rough handling, but at the sacrifice of accuracy. Mine is running 5-9 seconds fast a day after 2 weeks of regulating it.
The lume is great and lasts all night when fully charged. Again, I really wish the tip of the second hand was lumed, not the back end.
For the $250 shipped that I paid, I'm satisfied with the watch. It will most likely make its way to 10watches or motorcitywatchworks for lume and second hand replacement. I might even get a cnc buddy to cut me a new crown guard but that is almost going overboard.
