As a long time vegan chef I have lots and lots of cookbooks. I often end up developing my own recipes but I have to say, "This is hands-down my all time favorite cookbook!" The recipes are delicious, easy and they even work as written! The main changes I've made is substituting maple sugar for cane sugar (I don't eat cane sugar) and cutting down on the Earth Balance a smig and adding oil rather than Earth Balance in a couple of recipes. Other than that I've hardly changed a thing. I've made about 50% of the recipes at this point and I couldn't be happier. One more thing, the pictures are beautiful and inspiring -- I just love a book with pretty pictures ;-). Like I said above, I was really hesitant to buy this book because I have lots of cookbooks but now I'm buying it for all my friends! This is a MUST HAVE!

I appreciate her style, and I loved the beginning sections of this book for the non-toxic kitchen tools, dishes etc. & the dirty dozen & clean fifteen lists (worst pesticides/pesticide absorption).

I do think that the non-toxic kitchen tools may need an update, as some "green" non-stick pans may be more toxic than petroleum based. I am not sure about ceramic non-stick though.

But, overall, I find the recipes to be just okay. When I first went vegan, I thought I wanted a lot of cookbooks, but really, I only feel motivated to use a few.

For me personally, I love Chloe Coscarelli [all 3 cookbooks] & Miyoko Schinner's Homemade Vegan Pantry. I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed the Kind Diet in both recipes & approach.
-Chloe Coscarelli has some free recipes on her website so you can see if you like them before purchasing her book.
She made me love Italian food, and I was previously not a fan.
-I really appreciate Miyoko for both her simplicity (and yet, so GOOD) and that many of the recipes in her book are oil-free and many are able to be made with zero-waste ingredients (meaning that I can find it without plastic packaging).

Anyways, if you can find this at a thrift shop, it is a decent introduction to veganism or plant based cooking, certainly better than the ones I started with [Vegan Cooking for Dummies (okay) & PETA's Vegan College Cookbook (literally the worst cookbook I have EVER seen)].
However, I think there are hundreds of better cookbooks out there.

It is an update from her previous book in terms of healthy ingredients, but I thought that the quality was about the same.

For the price on Amazon, however, I do not think it is worth it.

I have gifted my copy to my younger sister, who is relatively new to veganism. I hope she enjoys it more than I did, lol.

No kidding! If this is unchartered water for you then this book is your friend! Kim has made this transition easy for me and my family of five! My husband and kids don't even realize what I am doing....the food is that good. I am excited for the tools that are put together. Pictures are very nice...would like more. Has cal/fat info for each dish. Fun to read. Major down fall-there is no "prep and cook time" listed. So you need to read through the recipe and understand what you are getting into BEFORE you start cooking....some take time. But a wonderful addition to my kitchen.

Not terribly flexible as far as recipes go, which was disappointing. But I'm still trying to apply their theoreticals to my reality.
