Présentation de l'éditeur

Nothing in this world is permanent. Friends, lovers, even family, can all disappear in the blink of an eye. Without these anchors, it’s all too easy to find oneself drifting.

Jason Grant doesn’t have much, aside from a beat-up old guitar and knack for getting kicked out of foster homes. His latest placement is set to be just another in a long line of failures. Then he meets Caesar Hubbard, a handsome guy who lives down the hall. For the first time in his life, Jason wants to stay, which means learning to be part of a family, and not letting his feelings—or his actions—ruin his first real chance of falling in love.

Something Like Spring introduces a new character to the Seasons story, one with a troubled past and an equally turbulent future. Jason must traverse a winding road fraught with emotional conflicts and tough decisions… a road that might just lead to a certain couple in Austin.

Biographie de l'auteur

Jay Bell never gave much thought to Germany until he met a handsome foreign exchange student. At that moment, beer and pretzels became the most important thing in the world. After moving to Germany and getting married, Jay found himself eager to communicate the feelings of alienation, adventure, and love that surrounded this decision, and has been putting pen to paper ever since. A well earned 5-star rating for Jay Bell's Something Like Spring. Being a little dyslexic, I love the fact that the series' fourth season is Spring. After reading and loving the first three books in the series, I purchased the 4th book in the series with trepidation. Would Jay coast after the first 3 books in the series or would he push for greatness. Much to my delight and obviously to the delight of so many other readers, Jay Bell delivers. I wasn't so sure about the introduction of the new character Jayson Grant. Sure enough, he captured my heart and took me for an incredible journey for 7 tumultuous years of his life. Having had a rough time during my teenage years, I felt Jayson's pain but also relished his fortitude, willingness to shun bitterness and keeping his heart open to love. Jayson's message is clear, you can make it if you just hold on to life and love. His story epitomizes the popular slogan that encourages young people to live and not give up in despair, "It does get better!" From experience, I know it is true. I appreciate the author's ability to respect the reader's attachment to the personas he has created within his stories.

I started out to write a short review... enough said. I recommend reading the series starting with Something Like Summer. If you have read the first three in the series, you absolutely must, without a shadow of a doubt, unequivocally buy this book and put it at the top of your reading list.

If you are looking for an amazing series of books by a talented author, I highly recommend Jay Bell. Read the books in order as it helps to paint the best picture. There are some characters that I love less than others, but it's entertaining to see a timeline of events viewed by the perspective of different characters. You really get into the head of each character and see how simple events are much more complex than they seem. It's also amazing to read a book surrounding a character that you read about a few book before and get to really know and understand the complexity of that individual. Each time I pick up a new book by Jay, it's like going to dinner with an old friend you haven't seen in a while.

Each time Jay comes out with a new book, I jump for joy. He truly has an amazing talent. Once you fall in love with Jay's books, I recommend supporting him through his Patreon page as you will get additional views into the characters and their developments. It's well worth the monthly contribution.
4.0 étoiles sur 5 A new character falls a little short, but the book is just a dreamy and lusting as the rest. 16 septembre 2015

Jay Bell does it again. He knows how to make his readers jealous of the relationships his characters develop with each other. The return of old familiar faces was nice and they appeared to have matured a great deal which is nice since the book is the future. However, sometimes I wish they were not too involved in the series. It was like the scenes were stolen by the familiar faces on each page of the book. I do like Cesar's character as he provides something different to the series and have a sex-crazed personality. The main character is not bad at all and the foster homes is a nice touch, however I do think something is missing as compared to other key characters. The main character lacks some individuality and maintain this common theme in Jay's books of the main character desperate for a long lasting relationship. Does it really always end up that way? My only down fall is I wish the book had a little more climax and drama. Not every story is a happy ending and sometimes this book forgets that. I wish these characters actually explore the real side of homosexuality, love, drugs, betrayal, pain and all the other common problems youth face today. I do believe if you are a reader for cliff hangers and climax, this book may not deliver that. however, if you dream of a fairy tale and love reading about others happiness, this book will deliver.

Not my favorite in the series, but still a very good book that makes me smile and dream of a similar lifestyle.

Wonderful wrap-up to the first series and a great passing of the torch to additional books. I really think that developing characters over time allows for greater depth and gives readers a chance to see that almost no one is a true villain. They all do things that seem valid from their points of view, though they do occasionally make mistakes.

I was especially happy to see Jace make an appearance in this as I thought we'd seen the last of him.

Loved the wedding toward the end. I never cry at weddings (even the Jane Austen ones) but this one had a twist that got me a bit misty. Course it could have been the pollen.

I'll continue to come back to these characters time and again and these books offer plenty of material to enjoy in re-reads.

Jay is at it again! I know some readers were worried when Winter came out because we felt that the series may come to an end. As you know by now if you are reading these books is that not only is Jay a very talented write, but he possess the ability to bring these characters to life. Not only does he start with a whole new story on this one, but you also are able to see those from the past in this book and they play just as big of a role. The talent it takes to continue to create new while visiting old is phenomenal and I can't praise Jay enough. I still suggest that you read them in order, but this is a great book, just like the others.
