If you like crooning, and I do, and the fifties, and I do -- it's all here. My personal forgotten favorite is How Do You Speak To An Angel? My unforgotten champion is Lady of Spain. He's great, but those guitars? --- OMG!

Love the music, but last song on cd #1 has a problem. It skips words in the song.

POSITIVE POINTS:

1 While the coverage of most Eddie Fisher’s CDs would stop at “Oh! Mein Papa” (1953), this set would extend to 1957, thus producing many rare gems, making CD debut even now in 2017, as noted above! This is most helpful in my case when I try to complete his Singles Collection.
2 The songs are sequenced, more or less, chronologically.
3 The sound is simply excellent, wonderfully remastered using Cedar audio equipment and Steimberg Wavelab software using original source material. The producer’s aim to preserve the sound and tone of the recordings and also to bring the sound quality up to modern day standards is deeply appreciated. All the songs in this set have become my new reference standards.
4 There is a 16-page booklet, with an informative essay by Chris White. Labels and numbers, chart positions and chart dates are included.
5 Time: both discs 1 & 2: 76 minutes. Good value!

NEGATIVE POINT:

None.

COMPLETE SINGLES DISCOGRAPHY:

I have just compiled a Complete Singles Discography, and found that Eddie Fisher has 94 singles (but only 178 songs not 188 songs because 10 were repeated releases; As & Bs, charted & uncharted from 1948 – 1970). His singles labels are (1) Columbia (1948), (2) RCA Victor (1949 – 1958), (3) Ramrod (1960), (4) 7 Arts (1961), (5) ABC-Paramount (1961 – 1962), (6) Ramrod (1963), (7) Dot (1965 – 1966), (8) RCA Victor (1966 – 1968), (9) Vanessa (1969), (10) Musicor (1969) and (11) Cadet (1970)

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Eddie Fisher was born Edwin Jack Fisher on August 10, 928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has a successful recording career. He was married to Debbie Reynolds (daughter Carrie Fisher), Elizabeth Taylor and Connie Stevens. He died on September 22, 2010 (age 82).

This current set is the best from two other sets combined: “The Greatest Hits of Eddie Fisher” (Acrobat Music, 2CDs, 2011, 50 songs, 1950 – 1953” and “May I Sing to You: The Very Best of Eddie Fisher” (Taragon, 2CDs, 1998, 45 songs, 1950 – 1956). His output after 1958 is not covered on CDs.

If you like Eddie Fisher, this set with great sound is a Must-Own!
