2.0 étoiles sur 5 SAG - Put it in a decent container PLEASE 6 octobre 2011

I have used this glue a few times for different applications. Some times it works, but for many applications it does not. EVERY time I have gone to use it, the 'elmers' glue type tip is plugged up. PLUS, the glue has started to harden inside the bottle (it is about 7/8 full and the top 1/4 of the bottle is rock hard. 'Squeeze out all of the air' you say? That didn't seem to help. Why not? Because the nozzle end does not tighten all of the way, so it leaks air anyway. PLEASE put your product in a better quality dispenser with a screw on cap that would keep the air out completely.

This glue does expand quite a bit. It is very thin, so it is not suited to glue anything where the glue will run down when you don't want it to.

I gave this product 2 stars because when the glue is used for an application where it is suited, it works very well. For me, about 30% of my gluing jobs. When I go to use it, I also have to add the time it takes to unclog the tip since the previous use. Note: I gave up this last time when I poured out the remainder of the non-hardened portion into another plastic bottle with a well fitting screw on cap. From now on, I will have to use a brush to apply the remainder of the glue.

Bottom line: When this stuff sticks, it sticks. Otherwise, it is messy, runs easily, expands when you may not want it to, and hardens easily in a mediocre container with a cap and tip that does not seal well between uses.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Super Strong... but it does swell and puff up! 30 mai 2010

This is very strong glue and it works well both inside and outside the house.

This may be the strongest non-epoxy adhesive you can buy.

BUT, you should know one thing... as it cures and dries, it swells and puffs up. I would say it enlarges 3x the volume of glue you use on a job. You must take this into consideration when you apply the glue. The good news is, if it swells up beyond your tolerable limits, you can trim the excess with a knife. This excess trimming is better accomplished before the glue has entirely dried.

Read the directions!

This is an amazing product.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Above average, works in difficult situations 3 mai 2011

Sticky Ass Glue claims to outperform a variety of the best glues out there. There are a lot of good glues on the market, and most are designed to work optimally with specific materials. Sticky Ass Glue claims to work with a large variety of materials and surfaces, both porous and non porous. Gluing porous materials together and bonding them to non-porous ones is not usually a challenge. Bonding non-porous materials to each other can be difficult. That's particularly true with many plastics. They often have specific cements and glues that work very well with one type but not at all with others.

I tried this on a broken internal plastic part from a toy gun. It was under pressure from a spring (about four times stronger than one in a typical ball point pen) and was made from a smooth plastic. The end without the spring gets forced toward the spring by a trigger. The "L" shape makes the applied force uneven. Other glues did not hold up to the pressure for more than a second once cured. I applied a moderate amount of SAG to the gluing surface of one piece and wet the other. I held them together and let the glue cure for over 24 hours. Unlike previous glues, this one held up for about 10 seconds.

I decided to try again, and scraped the surfaces of both sides of the plastic so the surfaces were rougher. I applied the glue a bit more liberally and waited 48 hours. On my previous attempt, there was a small amount of expansion. The glue more than surrounded the joined areas, but did not have a lot of excess. The second time, expansion was a lot greater and I needed to trim away excess cured material that got in the way. This time, the glue held up fine for about a day. I tried a third time, using liberal amounts of glue so the glue expanded to essentially increase the thickness of the piece being repaired. That was about three months ago and it's still holding up.

Since that time, I've used the glue in a variety of less tricky situations, and some difficult ones, and had good results consistently.

The glue is a bit tacky, but no more so than maple syrup. Like maple syrup, this glue will not hold anything together very well when it's still wet. Unlike maple syrup, ordinary soap will not get it off your hands, so take their advice and use gloves.

Although this glue fell short of my expectations initially, it ultimately proved itself with difficult materials. It's not a miracle product, but I'd recommend it for many difficult tasks. An obvious exception is with whatever plastic they made the cap out of. I'd also look for an alternative when aesthetics might be an issue due to the expansion of this glue. I'd also preclude its use for bonding metals when you need to fill in small to moderate sized holes. For that, I'd recommend J-B Weld 8265-S Cold Weld. That still leaves plenty of uses, including many where other glues will not be up to the challenge.

Did what we needed it to do...and did it well.

We were able to 'glue' a 200 lb. North Push permanent magnet to a plastic material and 'unable' to make it 'flip' or 'hurl' away by forcing an equal in power 200 lb North Push Permanent magnet glued to a weight with an additional 300 pounds attached in order to make the two magnets just simply touch in any way. The glue completely.held and it was impossible for anyone or any power to force the magnets together.

/we have been told multiple times by folks much smarter than we ..that our goal had never been reached and it could not work now. It did work now and is only the latest of a number of currently recognized achievements which we were initially told were' impossible to achieve.

I would guess that's probably why WE are 3 time inductees into the United States's Library of Congress in 3 different endeavors, also Who's Who in America.....and the United Statres National Archives so that our work may be utilized in the name of science for all perpetuity.

SAG GLUE 4 OZ BOTTLE

By Dan November 18 2013

I purchased this glue after reading the reviews and wanted to try it based on price. This is a very strong glue and as reviewed by others works like Gorilla Glue to include expansion, is thin and runs readily,

I rated with two stars not because of the glue it self but due to very bad packaging. Unless you plan to use this glue as a one time needed project , I would not recommend at all.

This company is Light years behind the success of Gorilla only because of poor bottle cap and seal to keep all air out of the bottle between use. Basically after one use I had to throw the entire bottle.

Again unless you plan to use all the glue on the first project --- it is unlikely that that you will ever see a second usage.
