Présentation de l'éditeur

He’ll do anything to keep her safe…for the rest of their lives.

Romance and excitement tie the knot in Taken by Tuesday, the fifth book in Catherine Bybee’s bestselling Weekday Brides series.

Judy Gardner: College graduate Judy stands ready to conquer the world…if she can get a job. Hoping to transition from aspiring architect to famous architect as quickly as possible, the dark-haired beauty moves to LA, staying in the home of her celebrity brother, Michael Wolfe. But it’s hard for Judy to focus on work when the sexy bodyguard she fell for last summer keeps showing up in her life and leaving her breathless.

Rick Evans: With his hard body, green eyes, and easy smile, Rick could have any woman he wants. But the Marine-turned-bodyguard only has eyes for Judy and her spitfire attitude. When a faceless villain attacks Judy, Rick will stop at nothing to protect the woman who opened his heart from the monster hunting her.

Comme le reste de la série, ce livre est facile à lire et sympathique. Il y a du suspense. Un petit livre à lire sans prise de tête.

“W-what are you doing?”

He set her cup beside his and boxed her in, one hand resting on each side of her.

“I’m going to kiss you,” he said over her lips. “Taste you.”

Her breath caught somewhere between her lungs and her brain…the short circuit could bring her down. “I…I—“

“You want to taste me too.”

One of the best parts about having the opportunity to read and review books, is coming across a series or author that is new to me that I really enjoy. That was the case with Taken By Tuesday by author Catherine Bybee.

This is the fifth book in the author’s The Weekday Brides series and I consider it part contemporary romance, part romantic suspense (lite), and part chick-lit. I haven’t read any of the previous books in this series (how did I miss this series!) and the book worked okay for a stand-alone. The series is sequential, and have the same cast of supporting characters throughout. Previous story lines were referenced heavily throughout the book. For that reason, reading this series in order may make the most sense. If you want to start with book one, read Wife by Wednesday first. After reading Taken by Tuesday and realizing I liked it, I wish I would have started with book one and read the series in order.

The story was told from the dual points of view of the main characters, Judy and Rick. Rick is a security guard for Judy’s brother, who is a famous actor. After graduating college Judy moves into her brother’s house while he is working overseas on a movie. Unfortunately, she becomes the victim of a dangerous stalker and Rick must step in and keep her safe. The chemistry that has developed between these two characters (apparently in previous books), finally comes to the surface and Rick must work to keep Judy safe as well as convince her that they should be together.

Overall, I liked this book! The writing was good and the romance was enjoyable. It wasn't off the charts steamy but it's what I expected from a contemporary romance/chick lit title and was well done. Fans of marriage of convenience may want to check this series out as it seems like it may be an ongoing theme in these books! I love the names of the books too, really cute:

1. Wife by Wednesday
2. Married by Monday
3. Fiance by Friday
4. Single by Saturday
5. Taken by Tuesday

I definitely plan to go back and read the series in order and recommend anyone interested in reading the series to start at the beginning! A solid FOUR STARS!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

I won an ARC in a FB contest - but with no promise of a review - this is my own effort.

"Taken by Tuesday" is another great read from "The Weekday Brides" series and picks up on the attraction between Judy and Rick which was hinted in the previous book, "Single by Saturday" (which remains my personal favorite of the series). Although this book can stand alone, it does mention nearly all (if not all) of the characters from the previous four books, and weighs a bit heavily on their stories, so I would recommend for most readers to save this one until reading the others, if only to enhance the story with the full background.

Having read all of "The Weekday Brides" series, I do recommend them! Why? Because they are not simple boy-meets-girl romances - each book has an interesting secondary plot and "Taken by Tuesday" does not disappoint with a dangerous stalker that has targeted Judy, and a handsome bodyguard trying to protect her.

I loved the flirting and the banter between Rick & Judy as they each try to avoid the inevitable relationship for their personal reasons. How the author, Catherine Bybee, incorporates her "Weekday Bride" theme into this book is brilliant.

This is a great read and I give it a "highly recommend"!

What happens when the man that you care about is suddenly arrested for attacking you? That is what is facing Judy in the latest Weekday Bride book by Catherine Bybee. We met Judy Gardner in the last bride book, Single by Saturday. She is the younger sister of celebrity actor Michael Wolfe.

Not to be detoured from her dreams of a career in architecture, Judy turns down romance at every turn. That is, until Judy catches the eye of hottie, and ex-marine, Rick Evans while he is a bodyguard for her brother. The dimpled, thick, and dreamy, Rick will not take no for an answer as the one body he would like to get closer to is Judy’s. Unfortunately, on the night of their first date, Judy is brutally attacked in the garage at work. How can he get to know, and protect her, when all the cops what to do is put him in jail?

Can love bloom when this couple’s every move is being watched by the cops, a crazy stalker, and an over protective dad? This romance will have your heart pumping in more ways than one! I love how Catherine mixes romance, adventure, and a little bit of danger in every book. They keep getting better and better. I never thought I would wish that there were more days in a week but I will be so sad to see this series end. Another five star book from Catherine!!

HASH(0x8d418990) étoiles sur 5 Great Read!! 13 août 2014

First, I'd like to mention that although this book is the fifth in the series, it can be read as a standalone book without having problems understanding what's going on. I'm sure that there are small points of interest that can be taken away from reading the prior books, but these can be read out of order.

Now, onto the good stuff. I love Catherine Bybee! I've read all of the Not Quite series (that's out right now), but hadn't yet started on reading this one, even though I have a couple of them as paperbacks. It's not that I didn't think I'd like the series, but more like "So many books, so little time." When I saw this book on netgalley.com, I requested it immediately and sat at my email waiting, hoping to not get denied. I'm not going to lie, I did cheer a little, which made my husband make fun of me for about 30 minutes. SO worth it though.

Now, the blurb for this book is written so well, but I have to say one thing was left out that I wish had been included! Judy's a mini-gamer! I completely loved this aspect, and I have to say, the author did a fantastic job capturing the mannerisms of a casual gamer. I remember many late nights in college where I spent more time playing my video games procrastinating about the paper I had due in under 12 hours. As a casual woman gamer, this was just a fun little aspect of the book that made me relate to Judy even more than I already would have.

As always, the author has made an absolutely drool-worthy hero. Rick is a fabulous hero that I wouldn't mind being rescued by. Under n9rmal circumstances, I dislike the alpha male, but this Military Alpha is written in such a way that although he may be showing his alpha nature, he also shows his gentle and loving side, hence his nickname, Smiley. I loved how he was always smiling and enjoying his life. It made it much more easy for me to enjoy him as a character instead of being annoyed by being a bossy man.

This book is fantastic. The plot was thoughtful and the mystery was actually a mystery. It's unlikely many readers will find out who the bad guy is in this book within the first few pages like in many other romantic suspense novels.

Are you a lover of romantic suspense or even just contemporary romance? Definitely pick up this book or ANY other by this author. It's bound to be fabulous!

Note: I received a free copy of this book for review via Netgalley.com

HASH(0x8d418a74) étoiles sur 5 I recommend this entire series 14 août 2014

Have you ever finished a book and wanted to know more about the characters? What happens after they book ends? That is exactly how I felt about this book. I felt a connection to Judy and Rick, I was invested in their future, and I want to know what happens next in their life. Luckily there are more books to come in this series and these characters are sure to make an appearance.

The chemistry in Taken by Tuesday is absolutely steamy. The fact that the sparks have been bubbling between Judy and Rick for almost a year and that they had stayed away from each other, due to circumstances, made the sparks when they were finally in the same city so much hotter and brighter. I loved how strong Judy was when faced with being attacked, she took an active role in keeping herself safe and in finding the person who attacked her. She also knew when to argue with Rick and when to step back and let him do what he was trained to do, protect her. Even when Rick was in protective mode you could feel the heat and attraction.

I have read this entire series and loved each and every one of them. I recommend reading them in order, but each can be a standalone book. Catherine Bybee is an author that has never let me down. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
