5.0 étoiles sur 5 Very cute, good size, to the point, good quality 29 janvier 2014

The most traditional of my tarot decks, somehow! I was debating between this mini size or the larger size, and since I already have a bunch of big decks I decided on the smaller version. There was NO reduction in quality, thank goodness, and you can still see the details of the art very easily.

The cards are very well-designed and, paired with a fitting art style, aesthetically pleasing. If every deck of cards that was printed with five languages on a single card looked like this, the world of Tarot would be a much better place. The way it is printed here, it just adds to the design rather than subtracting and making them look cheap.

The illustrations match as well as any pictures of cats could to the meaning of each card. They bend reality a little for some of them (I've never seen my kitty ride a fox before), but it doesn't go all the way into anthropomorphic territory that the cards don't fit together.

Readings-wise, this has been a more light-hearted deck for me. It will still tell the truth, and can deliver bad news, but who can take news badly when there's an adorable little kitten on the card? Awwww. No one, that's who.

Likewise, it is easier for readings with people that may be more wary of paganism/wicca/spirits/other esoteric stuff. If I brought out my Ghosts and Spirits deck that was covered in pictures of moaning ghouls and crying spectral women and tried to do a reading for my mother, she'd freak out and call a priest. But whip out this little thing with pictures of kitties and even the death card doesn't seem so scary.

Despite this, for folks more interested in a serious deck, I can attest that it does work well, so don't let my 'yay kitties1!1' speech reduce your interest in it.

I think this would be a perfect deck for beginners because it has your standard numbering and card titles, and the LWB is simple but straightforward. For some people, the LWB has to have a novel and the exact way you should interpret every reading of your card, but in my opinion you should base some of your reading on intuition -- and just getting a guideline of what each card means lets you figure out more yourself.

I kind of wish I had the bigger deck, too, for when I'm at home, so I could use this little one as my travel deck. There's nothing wrong with the deck being little (about an inch by two inches), but when you use several other decks like me that are full-sized, it can make shuffling this tiny one tough without dropping them, haha.

All in all, this is a great deck. Not my favorite for the most accurate readings (though this does very well, I just can't bring myself to call it my favorite), but it does it's job and keeps the reading from getting too dark and dreary as some tarot decks are good at doing. I vote that you try it out if you're waffling about it.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Beautiful cats, perfect size! Latest edition seems plasticky. 29 novembre 2016

This is my favorite every-day tarot deck. The cats are lovely and I didn't find it to be overly pagan. It's also easier to grasp than many other themed decks as it corresponds to Rider Waite. I have almost every cat deck out there and this is the best!! I think the size is perfect for home use and not just for travel- it can be a hassle to shuffle and lay out large cards on a smaller table so I don't see any benefit to using larger decks in the first place.

I am on my 4th deck as I have used it a lot and the cards have got beaten up. The most recent copy seems different-the cards are harder and more plasticky making them trickier to shuffle and there is a blue outline on the edges of the cards that wasn't there before. Not sure if they made a material change to the deck or why that is.

Note the two mega sellers with the lowest price underneath the Prime option (Word-ery and BD) have misleading information saying the deck ships from Georgia when in fact it ships from the UK and it took me three weeks to get it and no tracking. I ship many things to the UK first class that often arrive in 3-6 days so these sellers just seem to drag their feet. I wrote asking about this and they said they would contact Amazon to change the shipping info although with so many thousands of ratings it's obvious they do it on purpose to mislead customers into thinking it will arrive quickly. So if you order from them be prepared to wait!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Super cute travel cards! 20 novembre 2016

Love them!! They're just the right size to keep in my bag when I'm out. The only downside is that you'll want a proper book for looking up the card meanings. The one included has very small print, and only lists basic meanings of *upright* cards. Nothing mentioned about reversed meanings.

I really like these cards. Not only are they convenient to carry with me everywhere in my purse (just in case I need to do a reading for a friend, family member, client, or myself) because they are small cards....but they are also very unique yet very universal in illustrating the meanings of the each card in the deck without confusing anyone (if they are new to tarot cards, I'm not new to Tarot cards). I have been learning and using Tarot since 2008. I started out with the one of the most basic universal decks by Sharmin-Caselli and Rider-Waite. So I recognize how similar the illustrations remained generally pretty similar in symbolism and examples (for some, not all the cards) to the universal meanings that I learned from basic decks that I started with, only instead illustrated meanings with beautiful cats. Everybody I have done readings for with these cards love the cats on the cards :-)

I have never intended to be a collector of theme decks, and perhaps I can evade that label yet, but I must confess this is my third cat Tarot. Each one wonderful. I'm not into "Puss in Boots" anthropomorphic decks, and the three I have mostly avoid that. Tarot of Pagan Cats is wonderful for a number of reasons. One is that it follows the RWS meanings the most faithfully and obviously. For instance, the Cat's Eye Tarot by Debra M. Givens has those meanings, but cleverly translated through well, a cat's eye, with cat behaviors in action depicting the meaning. Here in Tarot of Pagan Cats, we're wonderfully in the RWS world in a way that most astonishingly captures the "cattishness" of the subjects, while remaining spot on in depictions and meanings of the cards. The thoughts and follow through in themes here is grand too: the 0 Fool to the XXI World comes to mind, as well as visual commentary from the 4 to 10 of Swords. The cats are very real and her depictions of different breeds is excellent. For myself, I chose right in getting the Mini Deck, & it is mini! The same height as the Hanson-Roberts from the Tarot to Go set, and a bit narrower in width, so quite easy to handle whatever your hand size or capabilities. High praise to artist Lola Airaghi for a beautiful, charming, mysterious and very usable deck. A real treasure.
