I'm still trying to pair this with the Global Trainer. I have replaced the batteries, re-positioned, and virtually held the watch right next to it. nothing. I must be doing sometime wrong. the watch is set for speed/cadence scan too. please help!

**UPDATE** 07/01/2014

This was indeed tricky to install. I was just about to return the device until I tried something a little different from the so so instructions. I tried to pair same with my TGT first by selecting Scan under speed/cadence (after) installing it on the bike (this did not work). So I removed the sensor then tried again, scan successful (I noticed a third option (SPC) after the successful scan which is now utilized AUTOMATIC every time I turn the watch on. Back on the bike it went. At this point I was only receiving a cadence reading, no speed. The photo in the instructions show the speed sensor attached to the bottom of the rear fork (speed sensor pointing toward the ground with the battery access facing outward). THIS IS WRONG! I flipped the speed sensor around so that it pointed upward/battery access facing inward. It finally worked I got the speed! Also, I have the magnets nearing touching the sensors. 3/8" (10mm) was to far apart. When the battery dies just flip it over, replace and flip it back.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 is a good device, really bad instructions 30 janvier 2013

i had been reading about all the comments saying that this does not work at all. but the truth is that it really works. all the trick is about the position (distance) of the sensors. the distance between the sensors and the magnets should not be more than 5 mm. not 10 mm as the manual says. for the first time to get recognize the sensor , you have to put really close sensors to the magnets and at the same time enable the scan function in the clock. then you can install the sensors
5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great Product! 29 août 2013

I was fortunate to score a Timex Global Trainer for a really cheap price, added this jewel to complete the package, and all is great! I thought I too would add a review to defend the product that otherwise receives such poor reviews. After following the directions and making sure that the tolerances between the magnets and sensors were within an 1/8th of an inch(or less, more like a 1/16th), all is well for the first ride. I used my strava app on my phone and my wired cycle computer to compare speed, distance, etc.. and all matches to the timex. As was stated on another review, I don't think too many people are making sure the tolerances are within spec. Also, as I look at the watch for details during my ride, I noticed how the cadence would show zero momentarily, and there is a lag in the speed shown from the actual speed as compared to my cycle computer, however, after downloading the workout onto strava, everything is identical as far as avg speed, elevation, duration, etc. when compared to my strava app on my phone. I think this is a great product. I give it five stars.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Heed the reviews here 6 septembre 2012

I wish I could have give it a negative star rating since it didn't perform according to the description just as all the other reviews has described here. You either get the cadence or speed reading. Both never both together. Would urge Amazon to feedback Timex on this issue, as it doesn't reflects well for Amazon to retail a faulty product and Timex to put out a half baked device out in the market. Judging of the lack of articles from Timex web page, i guess they have not been spending time to resolve this issue. I am rather curious to find out how some reviews mentioned that the device had worked perfectly fine for them. Does this implies the device comes from a production line that output with 50% failure rate? Until Timex is able to resolve this issue, I will not recommend you to consider purchasing it.

I read some other reviews on this item and was very apprehensive about it.!

This is very easy to install, and I had no issues with the device connecting to my Timex Global Trainer. I put this on in less than 30 minutes (probably more like 15). The instructions were very easy to follow and the biggest issue you will have is probably getting your bike up high enough to work on it. There is a magnet that attaches to the crank arm. The teathered sensor attaches to rear trailing fork arm (opposite of the chain), and a magnet to the rear wheel spoke. You line up the magnets with the sensors and your done. You must turn on the sensor connection in your watch (device) to scan for the sensor, but my watch did this in less than a minute. I highly recommend if you using the Timex GPS collection and are using it for multi-sport applications.
