Présentation de l'éditeur

This book marks the 100th anniversary of the RMS Titanic sinking. Titanic of the Dead - by Stephen A. Dymarcik II is the recently "DECLASSIFIED", retelling of TITANIC survivor Lawrence Beesley's “Loss of the Titanic” from 1912. Written just two short months after the sinking of the TITANIC, this hauntingly immediate account opens with Lawrence Beesley's story of arriving in New York and telling his tale. Titanic of the Dead represents Beesley's attempt to expose the conspiracy of events that led to the sinking of the Titanic and set the record straight. In so doing, he fully knows his words of the true tragedy of this legendary voyage will not be revealed until a century later for fear of worldwide panic and civil unrest. Illustrated with never before seen artwork detailing the events and written with a hair-raising clarity, Titanic of the Dead is an altogether spellbinding tale of that frightful night. Is this account historical fact or historical fiction? In the Style of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith, Titanic of the Dead, is a must have for Titanic buffs and Zombie lovers with a hidden central theme that brings them together wonderfully.

Biographie de l'auteur

Stephen A. Dymarcik II has a big resume; historian, noted zombie subject matter expert, independent film editor/producer, social media director, IT consultant, Sheriff's Posse member, OCD and Anxiety Disorder Advocate and author. He said touching a Titanic rivet with his hand in 2002 at an exhibit sparked his interest in the Titanic project. He lives in, Arizona with his wife and sons and two daughters. It appears as if his affection for zombies is genetic. His whole family loves the undead. His cousin Chrystal had a large zombie themed wedding in Key West in 2011 and is an active Zombie Walk participant. Mr. Dymarcik subsequently spent three years researching Titanic lore in order to create a case for: Titanic of the Dead. Titanic of the Dead is said to contain a story within a story, Mr. Dymarcik experienced the tragic loss of his four siblings followed shortly by the unexpected passing of both his parents. He said, Titanic of the Dead is about "Accepting Uncertainty". Acceptance is common theme in Psychology circles. We all experience tragedy in one way or another. However, it is up to you to decide if it refines you or defines you. Surviving a zombie outbreak is like that. If you lay down, you are done for. You have got to get up, keep on moving and accept that things change. Mr. Dymarcik says zombie stories with an underlying social commentary, like the great George Romero makes are simply the best.

It's a good premise for a novella: zombies were integral to the sinking of the Titanic. Thing is, Dymarcik seems to know his way around the intricacies of the Titanic and its specs, but I really struggled to get into the action. The main character was easily forgettable (as evidenced by my forgetting of his name) and for the most part, the novella read like technical specifications of the Titanic's composition and safety procedures. I would have much preferred an opportunity to get to know the 'hero' better, even to see him in more than the mild peril of 'ooh, there's a zombie in my room, but it's fine - I can leave.' The most frustrating thing of all was that, maybe, I could have forgiven the former issues since it was a relatively cheap purchase, but the fact that every few pages there would be a blatant spelling error (enroot. Really?) or formatting mistake suggests to me that this was someone who really wanted to be published and didn't quite follow through with the discipline required to really create a memorable work.

I was doubtful this was going to be any good but I was very pleasantly surprised! The quality of the fiction and prose was first rate and felt as if it could have been written by a gentleman of that era. Details concerning the ship's build, crew and sinking details (minus the obvious fictional elements, of course:-)) were spot on. The author clearly knows what he's talking about when referencing the Titanic's history and specs. Well worth the price paid!

WOW! what a piece of drivel. A totally un believable story. Bad grammar, poor story telling and continuity. This seemed to just be another way to spin a zombie tale. Unless you're stuck in a Doctor's office with nothing to read, and I do mean nothing don't waste your time.

I love everything Titanic....zombies, not so much! But this book was great. Still tragic and heartbreaking but I really liked the zombie theme. Maybe I'll check out some more of them.
This book is not that long, but well worth reading. It lingers long after you are finished. I highly recommend you give it a try.

Ok first off love the idea of zombies being aboard the Titanic. Had me hook line and sinker just by the title. Overall was a great read. Took a star for feeling like there was to much in the details of the surroundings. Could have done a little more writing about the action and such. Also there are several typos. I understand that the book just came out days ago... A pet peeve of mine. Took a star for that. Ending of the book is amazing and worth the read!! :D
