Présentation de l'éditeur

The 'Fire', a powerful artifact of the god Dmon-Li has fallen into James' hands. A spirit of a former Priest of Morcyth told him that he must hide it, that should the followers of Dmon-Li find it, the results would be devastating for this world.

James begins experimenting with magic in order to use it to aid in the hiding of the Fire. Unlocking the secrets behind the crystal he found in the swamp, he learns to harness magical energy to aid him in this endeavor.

The quest for answers eventually draws James and Jiron to the enemy occupied town of Saragon, where they've been told the last High Priest of Morcyth had been born. Hoping to discover a clue as to where the last of the Priesthood of Morcyth went after abandoning the High Temple in the City of Light. They make their way through enemy occupied Madoc to Saragon where they begin scouring the city under the very nose of the Empire!

Enjoyed Book 4 to its fullest. I've not been so spellbound with a saga.

Looking forward to continuing James' new world quest in Book 5.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 So Far So Great! 11 juin 2011

I, like others who have reviewed these so far, got book 1 for free for my kindle app. Upon reaching the "not so end" of the book, I was enthralled to say the least. The small amount of money that I have been saving up to buy an actual Kindle? Slow disappearing in $5.95 increments just so I can get each book, one at a time. Usually I am one of those people who enjoy a well drawn out, 10,000 page novel with a lot of description, sub plots, and other minor trivialities, but when I'm reading @ 3am, I don't want too much to make me have to think. These books are PERFECT. As long as there are more, I suppose I will continue saying fare thee well to what little in amazon gift cards I have saved up.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great story 3 février 2011

The story continues to keep me engaged in book four. James continues to level his magic power. His mana increases as he learns. I guess comparable to leveling up. All while not becoming indestructable. Some were quick to complain of his using the same spell all the time. If you note from the beginning of this saga his magic uses all of the elements: earth, air, fire, and water. This series is fuel to my imagination.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Great story, but editing needs work. 9 août 2016

Great story but definitely has room to improve in the editing process. Multiple times there are past and present tense verbs in the same sentence describing actions. "He grabs the sword and sliced through the air" is an example of the type of verb tense disagreements that one might encounter. The examples in this review are made up, but represent the idea or style seen in the entire series.

Also, quite a few times when homophones are used inaccurately such as "through" and "threw", causing the reader to have to pause and pay attention to the grammar rather than the story.

Other than the poor editing, the book is rather awesome. It has some areas that are typically easy to anticipate while other parts of the story are somewhat surprising. The overall story is a great story and written to keep the reader engaged from cover to cover. The only problem with the ending of the book is the need to start the next!
